"I was up all night working on my project for the Invention Fair," Milton told us as we crowded around his setup. "I have something truly amazing. What do you guys have?" Jack and Jerry started stuttering and looking at each other.

"I'm here to cheer you on and these knuckleheads wanna ride off of your project," I replied nonchalantly.

"I am so excited!" a teacher squealed. "We have a special guest judge this year. He's from Techtronic Labs and he is not too hard on this lonely lady's eyes. Derek Tanner."

"Hello future! I'm Derek!" Derek introduced himself, riding into the multipurpose room on his hover board.

"I can't believe it! That's my dad's new boss!" Milton exclaimed, pointing at the hovering man. "He's a genius. And my personal hero."

"This is the Mind Surfer. You control where it goes with your thoughts," Derek explained as he set, er hovered the board on the table. "And that's really what inventing is. Dreaming things into reality."

"Ya know, I tell them that, everyday," the teacher nodded. "But do they listen? No!"

"Milton, you gotta help us," Jack begged.

"Here we go. Once again you've done nothing but you want credit by glomming onto my project," Milton guessed.

"I did warn you," I reminded him. "I could pose as your girlfriend and Derek'll probably- or- or not," I cut myself off under the glares Jack and Jerry were sending me.

"And this is Milton Krupnick," the teacher gestured to Milton. "He's the smartest boy in our class."

"Ah Milton. If you're anything like your father, I'm sure your project will be most impressive," Derek beamed.

"K," Milton giggled. I patted his back, getting him back to normal.

"Right now the only competition you have is something called the butt whistle," Derek said. A whistle was blown.

"Put it away, Eric!" the teacher ordered.

"May I present," Milton started but Jerry cleared his throat as he and Jack walked up behind Milton. "May we present the Corn Coddlers!"

"Yes! The Corn Cod- what now?" Jack cut himself off.

"Every Wednesday night I have to give my nana a foot massage," Milton began to explain. He uncovered his nana, who was knitting under a tarp.

"Oh. An old lady under a tarp. Or any better than the butt whistle," Derek nodded sarcastically.

"I like this guy. He speaks fluent sarcasm," I nodded.

"Between her bunions, callouses, and gnarled up corns, I'm dealing with some pretty tough feet," Milton continued as he put on his gloves. Jack lifted up the feet as Jerry gagged at the sight. "I'm using these mechanized gloves that me the strength of 10 men, allowing me to do this." Milton began massaging his mama's feet as I gagged and turned into Jack's chest, not wanting to watch this. I was, honestly, surprised that Jerry hadn't said anything, but I think he was too distracted by Milton's nana's gross feet.

"Well, this is just embarrassing," Derek scoffed.

"I take back what I said about you," I shook my head as the boys started walking away.

"You didn't let me finish. I'm embarrassed I didn't think of such a fantastic invention!" Derek finished making the boys come back.

"You're sarcastic. Dramatic. I would love to have you as a boss," I exclaimed.

"How did you manage to increase the strength of a human hand 10 fold?" Derek asked.

"I used Greenbaltz Law of Inverse Perspiration to maximize its relative force, increasing its power," Milton answered as Jerry tried to be in unison with Milton, but ended up just overlapping words.

"Power," Jerry finished. Jack nodded, pretending that he understood everything Milton just said. "It's simple, really."

"Well, you three boys are going on a VIP tour of Techtronic Labs because you are the winners!" Derek announced. "Uh bring the little lady too. I like her."

"Yes!" I cheered. Eric blew his butt whistle again.

"Get over it Eric. You lost," Jack said making Eric sadly play his whistle.

"What are all these people doing?" Sam asked as me, him, Jack, and Jerry walked across the courtyard.

"Oh when a carnival comes in town, they like to drum up business with some side show attractions," Jack answered.

"Ladies and gentlemen! Behold the beautiful, the mesmerizing Unicornia!" the host presented as a woman with a horn latexed to her head walked out.

"Are you kidding me? What kind of sucker would believe in 'Unicornia'?" Sam scoffed.

"Unicornia! I love you!" Rudy shrieked.

"I believe you live with the guy," I laughed. Rudy ran up to Sam excitedly with cotton candy and a unicorn headband.

"She's even more beautiful than in the pictures. Sam, Sam, Sam. Let's go meet her," Rudy suggested as Sam stood there baffled.

"I am so sorry," I muttered in his ear before Rudy dragged him away.

"Hey guys," Milton grabbed my attention as me, Jack, and Jerry turned to him. "Mr. Tanner called me and told me to bring in my Corn Coddlers."

"Our Corn Coddlers?" Jack and Jerry corrected.

"Whoever's Corn Coddlers they are, you need to come up with a better name for them," I deadpanned. Milton side nodded in agreement before talking again.

"Guys, this tour is a big deal to me. Please don't do anything to embarrass me," Milton pleaded.

"Come on, we're not gonna embarrass you," Jack assured. "We know how important this is for you. I even put on my new deodorant. It's called DeStank."

"Aw classy. Dude can I get some of that?" Jerry asked.

"Yeah sure," Jack nodded before he and Jerry rubbed their armpits together.

"Ok um don't do that," I grimaced. "At the tour or ever again."

•••

"Welcome to Techtronic Labs," Derek welcomed as we started walking around the place. "This is Hans, an award winning physicist. Last year he invented a geothermal earthquake detector that saved thousands of lives."

"What's he working on now?" Milton asked excitedly.

"Rubber snot," Derek answered.

"Aw finally. Something the world needs!" Jerry nodded, walking up to Hans.

"Jerry, I wouldn't do that if I were you," I warned, wrapping Jack's arms around my shoulders absentmindedly.

"We're in public," Jack whispered in my ear, reminding me, we aren't in a public relationship yet. I stepped out of his arms, much to both our dismay.

"I'll be fine, Cami," Jerry waved me off, still looking at the snot.

"We are very excited about this," Derek gestured to the table behind us. "We've been contracted by a security company to invent an invisible guard dog. It's very exciting."

"I'm sorry?" Jack asked, confused.

"Well, Dr. Karatchi is grooming King, a pure bred German Shepard," Derek clarified.

"Ok," Jerry spoke in a disbelieving tone. "Yeah. Oh no, sure he is. Yeah there's a big doggy on that table." Jerry winked as a sign of his disbelief. I reached my hand forward slowly, surprisingly, colliding with a furry patch.

"Whoa. King is really soft. You did a great job grooming him Dr. Karatchi," I complimented to which he nodded in appreciation.

"Hey fella," Jerry spoke teasingly. "Oh look at me. I'm a little kitty cat. Meow."

"Oh no no no. Please don't do that," Derek tried.

"You wanna get the kitty cat? Kitty, kitty," Jerry continued to taunt.

"Please don't-" Derek was cut off by King's growling. Jerry backed up, shocked and terrified. Dr. Karatchi let go of King, letting him launch onto Jerry.

"Jack! Cami! He got the little kitty cat!" Jerry screeched as he blocked King's mouth from his face.

"I got you man!" Jack assured, rushing up to Jerry. "Come on! Get up!" Jack pulled Jerry up, covering him protectively.

"That was close. I think he's gone," Jerry sighed just for King to start barking again making the boys go back into panic mode. "Jack! Cami! He's got my leg! He's got my leg!" Jerry screamed as Jack chased after Jerry.

"You're very different from those two?" Derek assumed.

"Yes, very," Milton nodded.

"My guess is when it came to your invention, you did all the work," Derek guess correctly.

"What gave it away? The fact they think they have a chance against an invisible guard dog or the fact they have no idea what's happening?" I sarcastically asked. "Speaking of which, I'm gonna go help them. Jack! Jerry! Where are you?!"

"Cami!" I heard them both yell as Jerry was being dragged and Jack was trying to pull Jerry away.

"King. King, come here baby," I clicked my tongue, crouching down. "Come here King. Be a good boy and come here." I saw Jerry's leg drop and I heard King's paws pad across the floor. I felt his head nuzzle into my hand as I scratched behind his ears. "Now that's a good boy. Good boy," I cooed.

"Uh Cami, that's not the only King," Jack nervously scratched the back of his head.

"Yeah. King ran through the clone machine," Jerry nervously nodded as many, many invisible Kings started licking me and nuzzling into me. I started laughing uncontrollably because of their tickling tongues.

Me and Jack were looking at artifacts on the shelves, pointing out random cool things to each other every once in a while. We looked up to see Jerry looking at a large science thing that looked extremely dangerous. "Jerry," me and Jack automatically warned.

"Sorry," he apologized.

"I guess Tanner's still showing Milton around," Jack said as he set down an artifact.

"Pst pst," Jerry waved us over with his foot stuck between the door and the doorway which was labeled 'Restricted: Employees Only'.

"Dude. What're you doing? It's restricted," Jack hissed as he and I approached Jerry.

"It also says danger. I don't know about you, but I'd rather stay perfectly safe on this side of the door," I deadpanned.

"We're on a VIP tour. What do you think VIP stands for? Visit it please," Jerry defended.

"No dude!" Jack tried stopping Jerry, but Jerry just shushed Jack, opening the door anyway.

"Whoa," we all exhaled at the sight of powerful weapons and uniforms.

"Aww dude, check it out. It's our gloves," Jack pointed out, allowing me inside the room as he walked towards the gloves.

"Don't touch anything. It's probably hooked and wired to a bunch of weird alarms," I warned.

"Alright, alright," Jerry chuckled at my caution.

"Looks like Tanner really amped them up," Jack said.

"Dude, look. I think they're gonna be part of this crazy suit," Jerry pointed at the suit, walking up to it with his hands out.

"The stuff in this room looks different than the stuff outside of it. It's all red, black, mysterious," I sighed.

"I know. These things look dangerous," Jerry nodded. "Yo, what do you think this does?"

"Jerry, don't! Remember what Cami-" Jack was cut off by Jerry activating the button, making a beam shoot at the dummy's shirt directly across from it, causing it to explode.

"Dude are you ok?" Jerry asked Jack who was closest to the explosion.

"What?! I can't hear you!" Jack yelled.

"What are you three doing in here?" Derek demanded, opening the door with a security guard behind him. "This room is restricted."

"That's what I told them, sir. There are things called boundaries, Jack," Jerry accused.

"Huh?!" Jack asked. I walked up to Jerry, smacking his head.

"The tour is over. You're leaving," Derek decided.

"You know the stuff in this room is dangerous," Jerry pointed out.

"And I'm pretty sure half of it is illegal," I agreed.

"You know the stuff in this room is dangerous! And I'm pretty sure half of it is illegal!" Jack repeated due to not being able to hear anything, but it was impressive, also, because he couldn't hear what we were saying.

"You have no idea who you're messing with," Derek gritted out. "These three are banned for life!"

"You're in a band with your wife?!" Jack asked as the security guard pulled us out of the room. I patted his chest softly, shaking my head. "Right on dude! What kind of stuff do you play?!"

I was watching Jerry practice his spinning front kick with Jack. "Nice. Again," Jack nodded. "That was good."

"Well, you know what?" Milton asked as he walked into the dojo making Jack drop the punching mitt making Jerry fall. "I hope you guys are happy. You almost ruined the most important day of my life and embarrassed me in front of my new friend, Derek Tanner."

"Milton, I'm telling you, there's something off with that guy," I warned.

"Yeah. He had this drawing of a weaponized suit and our gloves were apart of it," Jack agreed.

"Our gloves?" Milton scoffed. "There's no our, those are my gloves! And you two are questioning a genius like Tanner? That's a laugh. You know what? Tanner was right! You guys are parasites. Well, not Cami. She doesn't hang onto my projects like flies hold onto rotten meat!"

"Parasites? Oh you did not just call us parasites! Us? We're parasites?" Jerry started to rant.

"You have no idea what a parasite is, do you?" I interrupted. Jerry sheepishly shook his head.

"You hang out with that creep, Tanner, for one day and you turn into a real jerk," Jack walked away from Milton, back to the center of the mat with Jerry so they could practice again. I returned to my spot, watching from the bench.

"Really? Well that creep just hired this jerk," Milton told us.

"What?!" we all exclaimed.

"That's right. Thanks to Techtonics work study program, I can finish school while working there, surrounded by people who appreciate me," Milton popped the 'p's.

"Oh really? Well, what's there to appreciate anyway? You're just a skinny brainiac who's got me through school while guiding me through the pitfalls of puberty and is one of the best friends a boy could ever have!" Jerry angrily complimented. "Oh Jack, what have you done man?!"

•••

"Let's go," Jack nodded, giving Jerry permission to practice his spinning front kick. "That was good. Again." Jerry did it again. "Good."

"Hey guys," Milton sadly greeted as he entered the dojo making Jack drop the punching mitt again making Jerry fall again.

"Seriously? Again?" Jerry exclaimed.

"Milton. Surprised you came back to hang out with us parasites," Jack spoke spitefully.

"I'm not staying, I just came to clear out my locker," Milton spoke in the same sad tone.

"What? Why?" I immediately asked.

"Mr. Tanner forbid me from hanging out here," Milton answered. "I don't wanna talk about it."

"Something's wrong. His sparkle's gone," Jerry said.

"I know. It was such a beautiful mix of magenta and aqua," I nodded.

"Dude, you can tell us what's wrong. Man we always have your back," Jack reminded Milton.

"Whatever it is. Anything you need. No matter what," Jerry agreed. "We will be there for you bro."

"Tanner is forcing me to make evil and dangerous weapons. If I don't, something terrible's gonna happen to my dad," Milton confessed.

"Well, Tanner sounds crazy. Good luck with that," Jerry responded.

"Jerry!" I scolded. "What he meant to say was we'll help you however we can. We just need a plan."

•••

We all walked into the Techtonic Labs in lab coats and glasses. Jerry had his hair slicked to the side, I had my hair in a neat, but messy, bun, and Jack. Jack uh slicked his hair back and uh let's just say I wouldn't stop commenting or laughing about it on the way here. "Tanner said everything in that room is illegal," Milton told us.

"Great, so we just need to grab the gloves, take them to the police, and that should be enough to put Tanner in jail," Jack planned out.

"Perfect. Let's go," Jerry nodded as we all made our way to the restricted room. Milton used his handprint to get inside just to see the gloves gone.

"The gloves! They're gone!" I exclaimed.

"He must've known we were coming," Milton realized. "We gotta get outta here!"

"Go go go!" Jack shoved us all out of the room.

"Hello boys. Looking for these?" Derek asked, holding up the gloves.

"Ok, before anything happens, I'd like to point out that I am not a dude," I deadpanned.

"Too bad, Milton. Together we could've done amazing things," Derek spoke sinisterly.

"I wouldn't do anything with you. You're a monster!" Milton stood his ground. "We're going to the authorities and telling them everything."

"No you're not," Derek broke the table behind him.

"You think I'm afraid of you and some amped up Corn Coddlers?" Jerry scoffed. "I got this." Jerry punched, but Derek blocked, throwing Jerry across the room. Jerry hit a bucket of rubber snot, coating himself in it. Jack attempted to kick Derek twice, but Derek blocked again. Milton tried to punch Derek, but he blocked that too. I tried to kick in the lower region, if you know what I mean, only to get a yelp and another block. Jack charged Derek, but before he could do anything, Derek threw Jack into some shelves.

"Jack!" I yelled.

"Why don't you join him, if you're so worried," Derek smirked, throwing me into the same shelves. I saw Derek holding Milton up against the wall. "Funny, Milton. You're about to be defeated by your own hand," Derek laughed.

"Our hand," Jerry was quick to correct. As Derek was about to punch Milton, me and Jack kicked Derek's ankle, making him fall down and lose one of his gloves. Jack tried attacking again, but Derek kept blocking. At the last attempt, Jack was thrown over the desk. I walked up to Derek, managing to kick his stomach. However, when I tried kicking again, he grabbed my ankle, twisted it into a dislocation, and threw me across the room. I let out a blood curdling scream as I flew into some shelves.

"Cami!" I heard the boys yell, but Jack had the most urgency. I watched Milton fight Derek with the glove that fell off, resulting in then both short circuiting.

"No!" Derek yelled, crouching beside the ruins of the gloves. "You destroyed the gloves that cost me a million dollars! And you dented my pinky ring!"

"You were right about one thing. Labs can be very dangerous," Milton said before kicking Derek into a broken desk. Jack sprinted up to me, checking to make sure I was alright.

"Cami! Cami, are you ok?" he asked worriedly making me burst out laughing.

"I'm sorry, I just can't take you seriously with your hair slicked back like that," I laughed. "Let's see." I ran my fingers through his hair, releasing the stick to make it flow naturally again. "Much better. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to relocate my ankle." I used my hands, popping it back in its socket. "Holy Jesus Christ that motherfucker hurt!" I used Jack to help me balance considering my ankle was still quite sensitive.

•••

We watched as the cops took Derek away. I was sitting on a table, stretching out my ankle which still hurt a little, but the pain and swelling was going down. Jack was leaning against the table and Milton was standing in front of us. "I'm sorry I got so carried away. I forgot who I was. I wanted, so badly, to be the next Derek Tanner," Milton apologized.

"Aw it's all good, man. We're just glad to have the old Milton Krupnick back," Jack nodded.

"I always thought there was something off with Tanner," Mr. Krupnick said as he approached us. "Milton, I'm really proud of you for standing up to him. That showed guts."

"The only reason I had the guts was because Jack, Cami, and Jerry had my back," Milton smiled. "I have plenty of time to become a great inventor. Now's the time to be with my friends."

"Speaking of friends, where's Jerry?" I asked.

"Oh he went to get his hat in the cloning room," Milton answered.

"Alright guys. I'm ready to go," Jerry told us as he walked past us. We took off our lab coats and I took out my hair.

"Hey. How 'bout we stop and get some pizza?" Mr. Krupnick suggested. "I'll pay."

"I'd like that," Jack nodded.

"Thanks Mr. Krupnick," I nodded as well.

"Alright guys. I'm ready to go," another Jerry told us, going the same direction as the first Jerry.

"Didn't he just-"

"-alright guys. I'm ready to go," another Jerry walked past us.

"It's Jerry plus a clone machine. What do you expect?" I asked.

"I'm only paying for one Jerry," Mr. Krupnick deadpanned as we followed the 3rd Jerry out of the building.
