Jade wandered into Eterna Forest, looking around at her new surroundings as she ventured in.

'Alright so...what kind of pokemon can be found here?' she asked herself, trying to remember. 'Think Rhyme said that pokemon like Budew, Misdreavus, and Buneary live around here. But I won't encounter a Misdreavus unless it's night.'

At the moment, Jade was alone with her pokemon. Rhyme wanted to explore a different part of the forest on her own to have her own small journey.

"Lee!?"

Jade and Delcatty turned to Leafeon who was frantically looking around, his fur sticking up.

"Something wrong buddy?" Jade asked. "You look like you've been spooked by something."

"Leafeon, lee!"

"You felt something behind you?"

Leafeon nodded his head. Jade studied their surroundings a bit more before picking up her partner. "Well, if there was something there, I don't think it's nearby anymore. Try to calm down a little okay? We'll be fine as long as we stick together."

Leafeon slowly nodded, trying to calm himself down. But he could've sworn that he felt something tug at his ear, and then giggle when he jumped.

Jade, Leafeon, and Delcatty continued to wander around Eterna Forest, not really encountering any pokemon at this point.

"Well, we've been searching for a while now...why don't we take a break from exploring and have a bit of lunch?" she suggested.

Both of her pokemon nodded eagerly, which caused their trainer to giggle before they settled down near a tree, getting ready for lunch.

'At least preparing for lunch for everyone is a bit easier since I don't have to prepare bowls for a full team until much later now.' Jade thought. 'But still...having everyone here felt like a big family gathering. Guess there are both pros and cons of having big and small teams.'

"Alright you two, here's your lunch." Jade placed the bowls of food in front of her two pokemon and they began eating happily. Jade leaned up against the tree, taking out her own lunch before eating as well.

Delcatty purred as she ate, but soon something out of the corner of her eye caught her attention. She paused and stared at her bowl only to notice that a few bits of her food were disappearing before her eyes, as if something invisible was eating her food. Delcatty hissed and swatted at the other side of the bowl but she felt nothing. Just a second later, a piece of half-eaten food suddenly flew at the Prim pokemon, hitting her on the nose. Delcatty jumped back only for Jade to catch her.

"Delcatty!? W-What's wrong!?"

Delcatty meowed frantically, pointing at her food bowl.

"You...think that something else was eating your food?"

Delcatty nodded.

"But...there's no one else here but us. Are you sure that you just didn't eat so fast that you didn't notice how much you were eating until just now?"

Delcatty gave her trainer a dirty look, which caused her to sigh.

"Alright alright, I'll look."

Jade leaned over and studied the bowl. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary.

"Sorry but I don't see any- eep!" Jade jumped and squeaked in surprise when she felt something tug at her hair. She turned around but saw nothing. "Okay...maybe there is something that's messing with us around here."

Delcatty gave an 'I told you so' look while Leafeon looked around cautiously. Though she felt a little weird doing this, Jade spoke up.

"A-Alright...who or whatever is doing this. There's no need for you to hide anymore. Time to come out now. We're not going to hurt you we promise, we just wanna know what's going on."

At first, nothing happened. Just when she was about to give up on trying to lure something out, Jade felt something nuzzle under her chin. Seconds later, a pokemon appeared, making all three jump back in surprise. Jade immediately pulled out her pokedex.

"Misdreavus, the Screech Pokemon. It loves to bite and yank people's hair from behind, just to see their shocked reactions."

"So you're the one behind all the little scares," Jade said. "But...why are you out in broad daylight? I thought Misdreavus was nocturnal."

Leafeon tilted his head curiously at the little ghost pokemon. Something about it seemed very familiar. Or at least it seemed to recognize them if it was nuzzling up to Jade.

"Hey Jade!"

It was then that Rhyme appeared with Piplup.

"Oh, hey there Rhyme. How was your little journey?" Jade asked.

Rhyme simply shrugged. "It was alright. Nothing super interesting happened. But it looks like you got some excitement. Did you just catch that Misdreavus?"

"No, it just decided to scare the three of us for a bit."

Rhyme tilted her head in confusion as she watched Misdreavus rest on top of Jade's shoulder. "Guess that Misdreavus must really really like you then."

Leafeon continued to stare at the Misdreavus, trying to figure out if he had seen the pokemon before. Misdreavus must've noticed this since it grinned and went over to the Verdant Pokemon.

"Dreavus,mis mis."

"Leaf?"

The Screech Pokemon grinned and nodded. "Vus!"

Both Leafeon and Delcatty's eyes widened in shock.

"What's up you two?" Jade asked.

It was then that Misdreavus used Psychic, pulling something out of Jade's bag. The old shirt that she wore when she was working at the DayCare.

"This...looks familiar to you? But how-" Jade was suddenly hit with a realization. "Wait a minute. You're that Misdreavus that mysteriously disappeared when I started working at the DayCare!"

Misdreavus nodded, grinning widely.

"I remember that you would hang around with Leafeon and me before you left. So you couldn't wait for a trainer to come by and decided to make your own journey huh? So what are you going to do now?"

Misdreavus used Psychic again, this time pulling out an empty pokeball. Jade nodded in understanding as she took the ball in her hand.

"I think I get it. Well then Misdreavus, welcome to the team! We're going to have some pretty exciting adventure now."

Jade gently tapped Misdreavus' head with the pokeball. Without any resistance, the Screech Pokemon went in. The ball shook three times before clicking and staying still.

"So that's why Misdreavus attached itself to you," Rhyme said. "It remembered you and decided that you were the one that was gonna be its trainer."

"Yeah...not sure how Misdreavus managed to figure out how to get all the way to the Sinnoh Region, let alone how it knew I was going to be here one day...but it all worked out in the end."
