"Hey (Y/N)!" Daniel jumps from the roof of Sword and Cross and lands in front of you on the ground, smiling. "How's it going?"

"I mean it's going. School's the same as it's been for centuries." you shift your books to get a better hold on them. A smile graces your lips when you hear Daniel's angelic laugh fill your ears. And no, his laugh wasn't just angelic because he was an angel.

The crush you've had on Daniel for centuries has only gotten worse as time went on. Every time Lucinda died, you were the one to comfort him. You were the one who spent the most time with him for the longest amount of time. You've both been best friends literally forever.

But on the flip side of this crush, there was no way he liked you back. I mean, you've refrained from dating anyone else while he kept running back to Luce every 17 years. If he DID like you back, he wouldn't keep going back to her, right?

"I'll see you later (Y/N)." Daniel says, running in the direction Lucinda just went. I rest my case.... You sigh and walk to the woods nearby, leaving your books near a tree to find later. What's the point even doing the school anymore? The only reason I've gone to all these schools is to win Daniel over...but he obviously doesn't care...he won't until Lucinda dies again. You sit against a nearby tree and lean back, taking in the beauty of the world around you. The birds around chirping happily, the leaves bright autumn colors of the trees allow warm rays of sun to shine through. It's simply a state of peace.

   "Hey stranger."

You hear rustling next to you when a boy sits down beside you, resting his arm on his bent knee.

   "Hello Cambriel."

"I've told you so many times, (Y/N). Stop being formal. It's Cam." He chuckles lightly. "But for real, what's going on? You seem upset."

   "Nothing. I'm fine."

"Wow. I thought we were closer than that (Y/N)! I'm wounded." He clutches his chest in mock pain and his head falls into your lap, his body limp. You smile and a small laugh escapes you at his childish behavior. "Now that you have gotten your lies out, let's try this again. What's wrong?"

You sigh and give in. "I'm just....tired of always being there for Daniel and he's not really there for me. I mean, every single time Luce dies, I'm always the one he runs to for comfort. And I'm always there! But he continues running back to her rather than notice that I obviously like him..."

"Wow you really HAVE fallen for him completely. I've never heard you admit it until now." he chuckles until he sees the pointed look you're giving him. "Sorry, um, go on."

"I just don't know what to do at this point. He's still my best friend but i need to move on or I'll just forever be stuck in this."

Cam sits silently, pondering something by the look on his face. "Cam? Say something. You wanted me to spill so it'd be great if you at least TRIED to help me."

"Have you ever liked me? Like, in a romantic way?" You look at him in utter disbelief. "Just hear me out. See, I've liked you for a while. Really ever since I realized I didn't have a chance with staying with Lilith...but anyway, um...I like you. I never said anything cause I knew you had a thing for Daniel and I wanted you happy but, here we are, and Daniel isn't looking like he'll come to his senses anytime soon and actually ask you out. So, what do you think about us going out together?"

You pause for a moment, thinking through the pros and cons of this idea. Sure, you did have a small crush on Cam, and there was no denying the fact that Daniel obviously did not like you back.

"I...Yes. Yes sure. I moved on from you when you were chasing Lilth to Daniel...Let's do it. I'll give you a chance Cam." You smile smile at each other, Cam standing up and holding his hand down to you.

"Well then, shall we go on a date, girlfriend?"

"Sure. Give me an hour to get ready?" You place your hand in his and stand, smiling before letting your wings out and flying away towards your dorms.

"That was a lot of fun Cam. Thank you for the nice evening." You and Cam are walking hand in hand from the picnic Cambriel set up in a closed off area on the school grounds.

"I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. I did as well. But I want to show you one more thing that I do every night." He lets his wings out, and picks you up, flying up into the air and landing on the roof of the school.

"You know I have wings too and could've flown myself up here." You say, smoothing out your dress.

"Yes but that's not as romantic, is it. Now stop complaining and come sit. The view is great."

You chuckle at how he's acting and sit next to him. He was a completely new person the entire time you were on your date. Softer, and more sweet than he has been in ages.

He holds his arm out, welcoming you to lean into him, and you gladly accept his invitation and lean into his side, smiling as peace overtakes you.

"So...what do ya say, (Y/N)? Will you be my girlfriend?" Cam asks, glancing down at your relaxed look.

"Of course I will Cambriel." You lean up and gently kiss his soft lips, a smile on both your faces.

A year later, you can Cambriel were still together happily. Lucinda had just died again, as she does every time she reaches the age of 17, and Daniel was grieving again. You were still doing as you always did, and comforting him, but this time you weren't trying to win him over at the same time.

"(Y/N), thank you for being here. I don't say it enough and I know that but I really appreciate everything you do for me."

You smile at him, and hug him. "No problem Daniel. I'll always be your best friend." You stand up from where you both were sitting. "I'll see you later, okay? I have to go meet Cam." You fly away, leaving Daniel to his thoughts.

   Daniel's POV

What did he do? He lost the girl of his dreams....Sure Lucinda was his destined love, but over time Daniel had developed feelings for (Y/N), the girl who always was there for him on short notice. But he didn't speak up, and now she was gone, happy with Cam.

Daniel sighs and stands, watching (Y/N)'s figure disappear into the clouds.

If you love someone, let them go, they say. At least he still had Lucinda. She would always be there too...until she died again...

Off into the night the fallen angel flew, regretting his choices for not pursuing the girl he TRULY loved soon...Now it was to Late.

He definitely made the wrong choice...

(Y/N)'s POV

Off (Y/N) flew into the fading light of dusk, a particular angel on her mind. Sadly, she could not truthfully say it was HER angel, the one she called her boyfriend. It was the other male angel with a large role in her life. Daniel.

She shouldn't still feel like this, right? I mean, she was with Cam!

But then again, even if she and Daniel both made their choices...she couldn't help but think...

Maybe she made the wrong choice....

WOWIE! It took forever for me to finish this! I'm super proud of it though! I did my best on it! Plus I also did a short story crossover for Supernatural and Walking Dead! You should go check that out!
