WE HAD TO GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM - David Dobrick

Word Count: 1218

This will be from the video We had to go to the Emergency Room.

You knew this was a stupid idea before the camera was even on.

David had only gotten 1 usable clip of Jason and one of Scotty, Todd and Nik for his vlog so far that day, and he was desperate to come up with SOMETHING entertaining.

"Hey (Y/N)! Since you love me a lot could you record?" he asks, smirking. You roll your eyes and take the camera. "Thanks Babe!" He pecks your cheek and runs back over to where he and Jason were currently trying to juggle cans between each other.

They kept at it for a good 15 minutes before David gave up. "We're not getting any better, or any content from this J." he sighs, running his hand through his already messy hair. His eyes light up and he turns back to Jason. "Can we try wine bottles?"

You pan so Jason is in shot too and he shakes his head. "No Dave it's too much."

   "But it'll be funny!"

You lower the camera ever so slightly. "David don't do this. It won't end well." you plead.

"It'll be fine (Y/N)!" he assures. You sigh and point the camera to Jason again.

"Now David and I feel we've been practicing long enough, and we can move on to very dangerous objects."

You stop the recording long enough for them to both get into position to try the stunt. By this point your friends had come outside to watch the 2 stupid men try this. David nods at you to press record again, so you do, capturing the action.

"5, 6, 7, 8-" The bottles get tossed into the air, both David and Jason miraculously catching them. This continues for about 60 seconds, Zane laughing in the background and your friends laughing along or filming on their phones. Until Jason misses one and it shatters on the ground.

Your heart stops momentarily, worried he's hurt. He smiles and looks back at Dave.

   "It's alright let's just do 2."

   "David..."

"It's fine! He's fine see?" He smiles at you, getting ready to toss his bottle again. They both toss their one bottle, catching it. They throw them again but this time, David can't quite grab the bottle in the air. He follows the bottle down, scrambling to catch it before it breaks but it's too late. He jumps and grabs his hand, letting out a hiss of pain.

   "Hey are you alright?"

   "No..."

Jason and some of your friends mutter curses under their breath while David sinks to the ground, holding his hand tightly. You quickly pass off the camera to the nearest person and rush inside to get something to wrap his hand with.

"Come here come here! Wait wait get the camera! Get the camera! Clickbait! Get a thumbnail quick!" He exclaims quickly, pain evident on his face while he poses.

You rush back out to see everyone posing, a sheet in hand. "Okay go go cover it!" he says, looking up at you while you quickly and tightly wrap the sheet around his palm, cringing at the gash and blood everywhere.

"David why are you so stupid? Why do you refuse to listen to me...." you mutter under your breath.

Everyone around is still panicked, trying to figure out what to do. Jason is holding pressure on the wound through the sheet, while you run a hand through David's hair, his head leaning against your shoulder. "I need to go to the hospital..."

Jason looks at him in shock. "Are you serious or are you just saying that for the camera?"

"Did you see my hand?!" David laughs lightly, trying to mask his emotions.

"I GET TO DRIVE DAVID'S TESLA LET'S GO TO THE HOSPITAL!" Zane cheers. You roll your eyes but let out a slight chuckle, David joining in a bit at his friend's behavior.

David sighs, leaning his head off you a bit, but you can tell he's not stable enough to do more than that. "I literally can't get up right now guys."

"Do you want some water?" Scotty asks, ready to get whatever is needed.

He shakes his head, leaning against you again. "This is the best and worst thing that's ever happened to me." he laughs, earning a smack to the back of the head from you.

"David stop joking around this is serious!" you scold.

Todd is still filming the entire scene on his cellphone, as if one camera wasn't enough. Zane comes back with his as well, trying to get footage for his vlog too. You roll your eyes at the behavior and eventually decide you've had enough, getting out your phone to look up ambulance prices.

"I hope I pass out!" David grins, looking at another vlog squad member. He leans forward off you and puts his head between his arms on the ground. "How much is an ambulance?"

"$1600." you say, seeing Josh on his phone now looking stuff up too. At least someone else here has the brain to help look for a solution to this besides clickbait.

Everyone cracks a few more jokes while you talk to the people bringing the ambulance.

"They said to keep direct pressure on it." Josh says, doing exactly that.

"They said to keep direct pressure and keep the cameras rolling!" Zane laughs, making the others laugh too.

You know that that's just the way everyone deals with serious situations because it's the best way they know to cope with it, but you also know that SOMEONE has to be responsible, thus why they kept you around.

You finally managed to get David up just as the sirens were being heard. You all get him through the house, and out front.

"You hear that? That sounds like clickbait!" He says with a serious face, Josh helping him so he doesn't fall.

The paramedics who were going to bring him said they couldn't film so David being his stubborn self decided Josh could drive him there. You roll your eyes and shake your head at his behavior.

There's a bit more vlogging done during the ride and at the hospital, but not nearly as much as when the incident happened. Once David was all patched up, and you were just waiting on the paperwork, he reaches over to where you're sitting next to his bed, and holds your hand what little he can with his now bandaged one.

You hold it back and give him a small smile, kissing his fingers gently. "I was worried, Dave. You gotta stop being so reckless. Regardless of content."

He smiles softly, kissing your forehead and hugging you. "Bold of you to assume I'd go out so easily." he chuckles. "But you have to admit, that was pretty badass, right?"

You laugh and nod, pecking his lips. "Yeah I guess it kinda was." You smirk, looking up at him. "I think I should have a turn trying that next though. More content."

His face immediately shifts, frowning at you. "Absolutely not. You're not allowed to get hurt." he says seriously. You laugh at how protective he got.

"Fine. I'll just stand by and continue to safe your ass."

He smiles happily. "That sounds like a great plan."
