-Voxle POV-

I was getting ready to leave the planet I was stuck on for a few days, which was Earth.

Voxle: "Well, it was nice staying here while it lasted but I have to stop Xero and save the others... Maybe I can visit again when I'm done, I'll never know."

I could hear someone's footsteps entering the room, I then hear a familiar voice call out my name.

Elliott: "Hey uh Voxle, are we really leaving?"

I turn around to look at him, he was wearing a spacesuit.

Voxle: "Yeah, believe it or not. Well we can bring you back home before we leave Earth."

Elliott: "Thanks but I think I'm gonna pass on that, I'm afraid it's just going to raise more questions y'know?"

Voxle: "Mhm, well if you change your mind just let me know, just not when we're too busy."

Something falls in the background, I turn around and saw a helmet roll past us followed by more things falling.

Elliott: "Well, see you later! Gotta help Jay before he breaks anything else."

Elliott runs out of the room. I turn around again to look at the window, there were lots of trees outside. The sight of nature and the sound of nothing was calming. But unfortunately I have to leave. I pushed a button which allowed me to speak through the ship's speakers.

Voxle: "Alright then, Sit tight and buckle up everyone. We're about to leave."

I prepare the ship for take off and buckled the seatbelt.

Voxle: "And off we go."

-Somewhere in the Rift..?-

Vyx was sitting down, meditating. Around him was nothing but a white blank space. He opens his eyes a little and holds a sheathed sword on front of him. Vyx stands up and unsheathes the sword and puts the sheath on his waist.

Vyx: "Testing begin."

He opens up a portal using the sword and brings out a dummy. Vyx held the sword tighter, breathing in and out as he focused.

Everything slowed down, Vyx unleashes several quick slashes at the dummy. He finishes slashing and returns the sword to its sheath. Time goes back to normal and the dummy gets shred into pieces then leaving it all over the ground.

Vyx: "Eh, good enough."

He sits back down again and continues meditating, or he's just sitting down with his eyes closed.

Vyx: "Now where was I?"

-Back to Voxle-

The ship had finally arrived at a station. Voxle steps out of the ship followed by 8Ball, Elliott and Jay.

8Ball: "Mind if I guide you here?"

Voxle: "Sure, go ahead."

8Ball walks towards a door with a keypad next to it. After a few button presses, the door opens. They walked through the short hallway. 8Ball stops in front of a door labeled "Laboratory", they knock on the door and waited for a response. The door opens, revealing a sky blue protogen wearing some kind of... Track suit? Just like 8Ball, they also had 2 sets of ears. But they had a tail with fins, like a shark.

8Ball: "Three of you, meet Quinn. Quinn, meet Voxle, Jay, and Elliott."

They look at Elliott and Jay and put their paw under their visor, thinking.

Quinn: "Are... These guys from Earth? If so I'm surprised. Haven't seen an Earthling before."

The two of them nod, Quinn then looks at Voxle

Quinn: "So you're that guy who's siblings with that scientist, or so I've heard."

Voxle: "You know Xero?"

Quinn: "Pfft, Almost everyone knows what stunt your sibling is doing. Well, not in great detail though... Oh and in response, others are also trying to make something to counter Xero's "Reality Cannon" or whatever they call it."

Voxle: "Are they on our side?"

Quinn: "Most of them, But let's get back to why you're here."

Sounds were coming from behind the blue protogen, it sounded like distorted speaking.

Quinn: "And maybe make it quick. I'm fixing something back there."

Voxle leads Quinn to his ship and explains.

Voxle: "Ship's kind of broken and I'm told you can help with that..."

Quinn: "Cool, give me a second."

Quinn runs off, quickly like a blur. They come back again with a toolbox in their paws.

Voxle: "What was that?"

Quinn: "I can go pretty fast. Give me five seconds to find out what's wrong and five more to fix it."

Voxle: "Alright."

Once again, Quinn runs off again leaving blurs as they do so. Voxle quietly counts down from ten. Once they were done, Quinn comes back and stands beside the two.

Quinn: "Few things were busted but now they're fixed. Though, you're out of fuel."

Voxle: "Thanks. Do you have any?"

Quinn: "Sadly no, we also ran out few days ago and I forgot to get more."

Voxle sighs, stressed and thinking about what to do now.

Quinn: "Speaking of which, I sent some others to look for you, where are they?"

8Ball: "About that, they were captured."

Quinn facepalms in disappointment. And maybe a little frustrated.

Voxle: "How did you know I was in Earth?"

Quinn: "Let's just say I have really reliable sources. Know where they are right now?"

Voxle: "I'm assuming Xero has them."

Quinn: "Let's go then."

Voxle: "We're still out of fuel."

Quinn runs back to the laboratory and comes back carrying a shorter orange protogen. They put them down and it starts making distorted noises like earlier.

Quinn: "Alright uh, Atlas. Ready?"

Atlas: "Processing, please stand by."

Atlas starts displaying a loading screen on their visor. Voxle bends down to have a better look at them.

Voxle: "Who's this little guy?"

Quinn: "We call them Atlas, they're a bit... buggy. But on the bright side, they can create portals that can take you anywhere."

Voxle: "Anywhere?"

Atlas: "Processing complete, portal ready."

Quinn: "Yep, preprogrammed with every available location. If a new place is discovered it should update their data, same reason why they're buggy because... Yea, updates very often."

Quinn clears their throat, now facing Atlas.

Quinn: "Alright, take us to Xero's base."

Atlas: "Opening portal to: Zero space"

Atlas uses their paws to create a portal, there was nothing but pitch black on the other side.

Quinn: "No no, I meant XERO'S BASE."

Atlas: "Oh, Okay. Opening portal to: nearest coffee shop."

Quinn: "Yea, bugs. Want a coffee?"

Voxle: "No thanks."

Quinn enters the portal, the rest of the group waits for them.

Elliott: "Huh, didn't know space had coffee too."

Voxle: "People travel, then discover, then create something. Like Xero discovering magical rocks and creates a cannon to do... Unknown things."

Jay: "And yet you don't have fire extinguishers here."

The three of them laugh as they remembered Voxle hitting the fire with the fire extinguisher.

Voxle: "Well we have something different for those."

Quinn comes back with a cup of coffee, sipping it as they walk through the portal.

Quinn: "Needs more sweeteners. Alright where were we?"

Atlas closes the portal and opens another one, this time it lead to someplace familiar.

Voxle: "This might be it. Jay, Elliot, you two be careful."

Voxle hops in the portal, followed by the others. The portal closes behind them after the two Earthlings pass through. They looked around and noticed they still weren't in their right destination. Quinn puts their paw on their visor, having a stressed look on their digital face.

Quinn: "Atlas, where are we?!"

Atlas: "We are currently in [ERROR: DATA NOT FOUND]."

Atlas froze in place after speaking, making Quinn stress even more.

Quinn: "Well it seems our ticket out of this place is frozen. Now what?"

Jay: "Let's ask that dude over there."

Jay points their wing towards a white furred figure wearing red clothing sitting under a tree, holding an orange book. One of their ears twitches after Jay says their suggestion. They look up and see the group.

???: "Oh uh, you're not supposed to be here but you are supposed to be here at the same time. And now that I've said that it's gonna be way more confusing for you to understand.

Everyone was confused, looking at the figure trying to understand what's happening right now.

???: "I'll just... Take you where you're supposed to be."

They started writing on the book, Atlas starts working again.

Atlas: "Warp Initiated."

Another portal opens up from below them, making them fall through and into the other side of the portal.

???: "Where was I?"

A/N:

WELL THAT SURE TOOK A WHILE.

Yeah sorry again for slowing the book's progression, I got pretty busy lately.

Originally I was planning to extend this chapter and add some action into it, but I guess I'll do that in the next chapter when I feel like it.

Also I feel like I didn't give the characters a lot of personalities, I originally had the idea of four main characters, A protogen, a bird, a fox, and a dragon but I decided to scrap that idea. Now I feel like I don't give Elliott and Jay enough attention.

Anyways, see you in the next chapter when I feel like it.
