One year ago.

The second war between the Crimson Crew and Vigilante Guardians happened. A war that was way worse than the first one.

It was the first time they heard about the Raven— the one who helped them win the fight against the Crimsons.

The Crimsons sent threats of a war breaking out for months by saying they will soon take over South Korea's government and will start with their town.

BTS and TWICE, having the highest rank, led the Guardians— with Jihyo and Namjoon as their core. Of course, with the help of BLACKPINK, Got7, EXO, Red Velvet, Gfriend, and Seventeen they managed to come up with a decent plan.

All eight groups did their duties and led their teams. The Raven also helped them a lot despite staying anonymous, they still trusted him.

Their plans were going smooth, they got everything calculated— or so they thought.
All of them underestimated the Crimsons thinking that they can easily read the opponent's next moves but they were wrong.

The Crimsons had their own card, a thing that the Vigilantes overlooked.

Before the war happened, they chose new leaders.

TXT, Eyes, Itzy, Stray Kids, Everglow, Dreamcatcher, (G)I-DLE, and LOONA.

Everything was way too easy, it was really unusual but they ignored it and became their biggest mistake.

The Vigilantes' main plan was to shut down the Crimsons for good. They assigned different divisions into different areas that are connected to the Crimsons but what shocked them was when the Crimsons seemed to know what's going on. It was supposed to be a surprise attack but the Crimsons were well prepared.

LOONA and Eyes'  teams were assigned to infiltrate the headquarters of The Crimsons. Namjoon and Jihyo gave them the orders to do so since they trusted both groups.

Both teams were facing death, fighting the enemies.

Yena, Eunbi, Sakura, Hyewon, and Chaewon fought like their life depended on it— because it did. Not knowing the real enemies are fighting side by side with them.

It took them long enough to realize that Haseul and her members are helping the Crimsons.

They never expected it to turn out this way.

LOONA battling with Eyes like they never shared history. All of their memories thrown away like it didn't even matter.

Turns out, LOONA has been helping the Crimsons. They became Crimsons' spies in exchange for money. LOONA told them all of the Guardians' plan which was easy since they had high ranks in the Vigilantes.

Yena felt betrayed the most. She trusted them, she trusted them with all that she has. Heejin and Hyunjin were her childhood friends. They trained together and promised each other that they'd do everything to protect the world. But they lied, Yena thought.

It stings like a bitch, having the friends you trust the most betray you. Breaking all the promises they made just for money. It felt horrible. She never wanted to trust anyone again.

Even with the betrayal of LOONA. They somehow managed to win against the Crimsons. Namjoon figured everything out even though it took them quite a while. Because of them wanting to end this quickly, their rashness became their flaw. Thousands of people's lives became sacrifices just for the peace the city is currently experiencing—It caused too many deaths.

One of them was Haseul's. The leader of the group that betrayed them got trapped in the Crimson's Headquarters where a bomb was planted. She failed to escape and it cost her life.

LOONA's betrayal left us so many questions. Why they did it? How they got connected with the Crimsons? What made them betray us? But the biggest question was Haseul betraying her own organization— her father's blood and tears. The Guardians often questioned how Haseul betrayed the organization her father made, The Vigilante Guardians.

The Guardians fell apart. A lot of groups retired and left the organization because they wanted to live a normal life. They've had enough of all of this. One of them was Everglow, one of the division leaders.

With Loona's betrayal and Everglow's sudden departure, they needed division leaders. Aespa, a new group, became Everglow's replacement. Weeekly became the 8th division leader, replacing Loona.

Everyone tried their best to live on, thinking that the world won't stop. It will continue to rotate.

But it was different for Yena. She just can't handle everything. She felt like her life stopped because of what happened.

Those who were injured were brought to the hospital that the government provided. It's a hospital that only the Guardians can use. Each group had one room since it's easier that way.

Chaewon, Eunbi, Sakura, Hyewon, and Yena were still in the hospital after the fight. The team wasn't severely injured they just got a few bruises.

But Yena, she got it way worse than her members. She got a few bruises and a large cut in her abdomen due to one of the opponent's sudden attacks. Her mind is filled with countless questions, she felt like shit that she even considered jumping off the building. LOONA's betrayal caused her trauma.

It was midnight, Yena couldn't sleep. She was tired, damn tired but her brain just won't shut down. Too many questions wandered off her mind. She hated it. She's usually the person who doesn't think much and doesn't use her brain but her head was about to blow off with too many unanswered questions.

She has got enough so she left. Her friends were already sleeping so she sneaked out of the hospital. She knew she was still in terrible condition but she didn't really mind. She left the hospital with nothing but bruises and unanswered questions.

She went to the bus station and rode the first bus that stopped there. She said to herself, she'd go to wherever this random bus is heading to. Her body is still aching terribly but she just wanted to get away from everything. After a few hours, the driver woke her up saying she arrived at the last stop of this bus.

The sun was already rising when Yena got out of the bus. A few people walked around the area. She had absolutely no clue where the bus took her but staring at the place, she felt free. She felt fresh air hitting her face. It was no longer suffocating.

Admiring the new surroundings, Yena got carried away and bumped into a girl with her school uniform and her backpack. Yena's abdomen got hit and she welp in pain causing the girl to worry about her. The girl looked at her apologetic and worried that she did something wrong.

"Oh my god, I'm sorry. Are you okay?"  The girl immediately asked her and helped her.

Strange. It's still early but this girl is already on her way to school, Yena thought.

Yena tried her best to ignore the aching in her abdomen. "Y-Yeah. I'm f-fine." Yena faked her smile hoping the girl would believe her.

"No, You're not. Your stomach is bleeding." The girl pointed to Yena's white shirt covered in blood.

Yena mentally facepalmed.

"Let me take you to the hospital." The girl insisted, she felt like she was responsible for her, she bumped into her after all.

Yena said it was fine, that she didn't need to but the stubborn girl persistently told her to go to the hospital. Yena sighed in defeat and agreed.

Like promised, the girl brought her to a hospital. The girl she talked to left her room.

"She must've already left." Yena talked to herself. She started laughing at her current situation, "I left the hospital because it felt suffocating now I'm in another hospital. Such great luck, Choi Yena." Yena dissed herself.

Thinking the girl who helped her already left, Yena just sat on the bed and caressed her newly changed bandages. A doctor checked her bandages earlier, according to him, Yena's cut got opened which caused the bleeding. He also advised Yena to be careful and restrain big movements as much as possible, at least until the cut completely heals.

Her mind continued to wander off with unwanted thoughts but was quickly snapped out of it by the sounds of the door sliding open.

"I thought you already left?" Yena tried to sit up and the girl rushed to her to help her.
"I couldn't... Uhm... leave you here. Not in this condition." The girl said assisting her.
"How are you feeling?" The girl asked Yena.
"I'm fine. You can go to school now. I won't mind, I promise" Yena smiled at the girl, assuring her.

"Nah, it's better here. No one wants me to school anyway. No one would notice I was gone" The girl's voice slowly trailed off but Yena was still able to catch on.

Yena wondered what the girl meant when she said that no one wanted her to school? That no one would notice that she was gone. Yena's curiosity got triggered but looking at the girl, she was sure that she won't tell her because they're literally strangers.

"Thanks for bringing me here though you didn't really have to." Yena changed the topic.
"It's fine. I bumped into you and caused you a problem, this is the least I can do." The girl smiled at her.

Gorgeous, Yena thought.

Despite the girl's eyes being sad, her smile was the warmest.

The girl stayed there letting time pass.

"You really won't leave?" Yena asked her, it's been hours since they were in the room.

"Nope. I'll stay here 'till your discharged." The girl and smiled again.

She smiles so much but why are her eyes so sad?, Yena questioned herself but shrugged it away since she has her own problems she needed to deal with.

Hours turned into days.

It's been three days since Yena got confined in this hospital. The girl was true to her words, she never left Yena's side.

Yena was worried that she's causing the girl too much trouble. She told her multiple times that she'd be fine if the girl left but she never did.

Yena can't deny the fact that the girl is an interesting one. Because of the days they've spent together, they became friends— well, sort of.

"I still don't know her name though", Yena said to herself. "Why do I need to know her name? It's not like we're gonna hang out after this." Yena said and chuckled to herself.

After a minute, the girl entered Yena's room again. The girl went out to buy some food for them.

"Uh. The doctor said you can get discharged in two days since you're already having a great recovery with no visible complications." The girl said as soon as she entered.

"Oh, really? That's g-great." Yena didn't know if she was telling the girl or if she was convincing herself. She hated to admit it but after spending a few days together, the girl grew on her. She wanted to spend more time with the girl. She wanted to stay with her.

Upon having some conversation with the girl, Yena figured out that she's currently in Busan. She didn't really believe it at first she thought she ended up in Daegu or Sokcho.

She has been having random chitchats with the girl but she still doesn't know her name.

She called the girl Hamster because she looked like one, she observed while the girl called her Ducky.

It's not a surprise for Yena to be called a duck because she, herself, also thinks she looks like one but there's something about this girl calling her Ducky that brings butterflies. Her nickname sounded so good when the girl said it.

"Ducky!" The girl called for her attention. "Hmm?" Yena looked at her.
"You're getting discharged tomorrow, what's your plan?" The hamster asked her.

It made Yena think.

"What's next?" Yena asked herself.

Yena forgot about her problems back in Seoul. After spending days here on Busan, it made her forget about all her problems. She never wanted to leave this place.

"I don't know... I... don't know?" Yena replied, she wasn't really sure.

It's currently 8:48, Yena and the girl were in Yena's room.

"Do you want to go out?" The girl's sudden question surprised Yena.

"G-go out?" Yena cursed herself for stuttering. She felt her face warming up.

"I— I mean go out, like go outside the hospital? To get some fresh air...maybe? I don't know, I just figured that you might want to take look outside?" The girl fiddled with her hand.

After hearing the explanation, it made sense.

Yena smiled widely, "Yeah, I'd like that!"

She and the girl went to the Hospital's garden and took a walk when they got tired, they sat on a bench and admired the stars.

"You know what..." Yena started, it caught the younger's attention as stared at Yena and waited for her to complete her sentence. "I still don't know your name." The girl looked at Yena with worried eyes. Yena noticed how the girl suddenly looked uncomfortable.

"Hi. I'm Choi Yena. I'm in my first year in High School, I'm from Seoul. And I'm your ducky!" Yena introduced herself, thinking that the girl would feel more comfortable after her introduction.

Yena offered her hand to the girl but the girl just stared at it, hesitating to grab the older's knife.

"I'm Y-Yuri. Jo Yuri. I'm in my last year of middle school." Yuri shyly shook Yena's hand.

Yena's smile grew wider.

"Yuri... cute name," Yena whispered to herself.

After the walk, they returned to Yena's room.

Morning came and it was time for Yena to be discharged.

"Yuri-yah?" Yena called for the younger.
"Yes, Yena Unnie?" The girl said without looking at her. The girl was already packing their things up.
"Did you pay for my hospital bills?" Yena asked Yuri which made the younger stop.
"Yeah?" Yuri said and continued what she was doing.
"Send me your bank account, I'll wire it to you," Yena said.
"Nah. It's fine Yena Unnie." Yuri said.

It felt wrong for Yena. She has money, she can pay for her hospital bills. It's not like she's hiding from someone, She can pay for hers. She felt bad for the younger taking responsibility for her. But knowing the younger won't stop nagging, Yena just agreed but secretly promised herself that if they saw each other in the future, she'd surely pay her back.

1/2 of Yuri and Yena in Busan and a little bit of the Vigilante Warrior's backstory.

This chap is almost 2,500 words. Each chapter usually ranges from 1000-2000 words. I don't necessarily have the need to follow this format but that's how my story goes and i felt like it became too long for one chapter.

Next chap is 2/2 of Yulyen in Busan but outside the hospital.
