Chapter 5

I woke up and headed downstairs for breakfast. On my way I bumped into Seamus, Dean and Neville.

"Nyx!" They yelled after me. I looked back and waited for them to catch up.

"Hey guys." I smiled weakly.

"What's wrong?" Seamus asked.

"Just another encounter with the Slytherin Prince, it's not a big deal." I said sarcastically walking into the Great Hall.

That day was like any other, boring, getting all the same comments from Malfoy. I walked into Defense again the Dark Arts to find that all the desks were pushed to the side of the walls. I was one of the last people in the classroom. I walked over to Seamus and Dean.

"All right class, today we will be exploring a creature called a Boggart. Can anyone tell me what that is?" He waited. "Ah, yes, Granger?"

"Boggarts are shape shifters that can change into your worst fears."

"Correct! Today I will be teaching you how to defend yourself against a Boggart. Inside this wardrobe there is a Boggart. Everybody repeat after me, 'Ridikulus.'" Everyone repeated him.

"This class is ridiculous." I could hear Draco mumble from behind me.

"Good, now, everyone get in an organized line."

Everybody lined up. Neville was the first to test it out.

"Longbottom, what is your greatest fear." Lupin asked. We all heard Neville say something under his breath.

"Speak a little louder will you?" Lupin gestured to Neville.

"Professor Snape." Neville sighed. The class laughed.

"Neville, you live with your grandmother correct?"

"Yes, sir."

"Do you have an image of what your grandmother's clothes look like?"

Neville nodded slightly. Lupin walked over to Neville and whispered something in his ear.

"Okay, on the count of three, I will open the wardrobe. 1...2...3!"

The door swung open and out crawled the Boggart in the form of Professor Snape. "Wand at the ready Neville." Lupin eyed him. Snape slowly walked up to him.

"Ridikulus!" He shouted, the next you know Snape is wearing a ridiculous outfit, only guessing to be one of Neville's grandmothers. The rest of the class was fun; Ron's fear was a huge spider and he put it in roller skates. It was finally my turn. I stepped up further trying to think what I was afraid of, but I couldn't think of one thing. I waited for the Boggart to change, and something very interesting happened. A mirror appeared. I slowly walked up to it, waiting for something to happen. Everybody started whispering.

'What's going on?'

'Nothing's happened'

'What is she afraid of?'

'That doesn't make sense.'

Professor Lupin yelled 'Ridikulus' and put the Boggart back in the wardrobe.

"That's impossible!" yelled a boy from the back. "Everybody's afraid of something." The rest of the classroom's heads nodded, except Draco's whose was staring at the back of mine.

"Don't you get it? She's afraid of being ugly! Well, it's kind of too late for that!" Malfoy put out.

"That's enough Mr. Malfoy, well, I think that's all the time we have for today, class dismissed."

Everybody sulked. I stood there in that spot not moving. Everybody sulked moving out of the classroom.

"Miss Thyme, you are welcome to leave now." I heard Lupin say.

"Professor, I don't understand. Why would there be a mirror?"

"Well Anyxus, there is only one answer, which no one can decide on but you. Now away with you, go get your dinner." He smiled.

I walked out of the classroom still quite confused entering the Great Hall was a bit awkward, considering the fact that mostly everyone was staring at me. I took my usual seat and picked at my food. I could hear everybody whispering about me.

"Are you okay?" Dean asked. I nodded at him.

"Are you sure, I mean about what happened in Lupin's class?" Seamus seamed very worried.

"Guys don't worry I'm fine." I chuckled.

"Well, looks like the Slytherin Princess isn't afraid of anything." I heard Blaise behind me. The others Slytherins snickered. I rolled my eyes. "We're gonna have to change that aren't we?"

"Leave her alone Zabini." Neville attempted.

"Shut it Longbottom!" He yelled. I stared at my friends pretending he wasn't there. He slowly crept his hand down my waist. I grabbed his hand spinning around in my seat and standing up putting his arm behind his back pushing upward for more pain. Once he was in that position I smacked his head down onto the table. Blaise's friends' eyes widened.

"Do you have no brain?" I growled moving closer to his ear. I could hear him whimpering from pain. "Next time, use it, or they'll be something worse coming your way." I let go of him smiling in an evil sort of way. Blaise and his friends ran of out of the hall. I sat back down with my friends, all their mouths were dropped. I looked at them.

"What?" I spat out. They all smiled.

"That was totally wicked!" Dean screamed.

"No ones ever stood up to Blaise like that!" Seamus added. I felt a couple of hands pat my back as they told me 'good job'.

"Looks like the Slytherin Princess really isn't afraid of anything." Ron shouted from a couple seats down.

"Or anyone." I said leaning on the table.
