the cafe door rung.
johnny looked up as he heard a familiar voice. "i'm back from school! did you miss me?" hyuck ran to johnny and gave him a hug. "why wouldn't i miss you sunshine" johnny picked up hyuck and gave him a kiss on the forehead.

johnny thanked kun for taking hyuck home. they had a routine, johnny brings chenle and hyuck in the morning and kun takes them home. it was quite a smart idea because of their work schedules.

- time skip -

jaehyun needed new shoes and johnny wanted to buy a camera that he's been saving up for, so they all decided to head to the mall. it was currently 7 pm and they needed dinner. "we should get chinese food" jaehyun suggested. "what if we got mc donalds though" johnny asked. hyuck was clearly annoyed because he just wanted to sleep and go home.

"daddy!! i want to go home! it's very stuffy here and i dont like it." hyuck pouted. "ah haechannie dont you dare get grumpy on me." johnny said seriously. "b-but there's no space for me to breathe!" hyuck was quite angry that he couldn't go home yet. johnny was gonna say something until jaehyun spoke.

"johnny i could take hyuck around if you want. you could wait and get the food." johnny sighed. "okay i guess. but make sure you dont lose my kid." jaehyun scoffed. "i'm practically dad #2, you wouldn't survive if it wasn't for me."

jaehyun kneeled down and looked at hyuck. "i'll let you buy one thing, if only you stay good and don't act up." hyuck nodded multiple times. "okay then, we'll be back johnny." jaehyun stood up to look at johnny.

hyuck grabbed jaehyun's hand, eager to get out of the waiting line. as they were walking, hyuck saw something that he wanted very much. "uncle jaehyun! look! i want it! pretty please!" hyuck junped around, tugging jaehyun's shirt.

"what is it?" jaehyun questioned.
"that. i want the pink rainboots." hyuck pointed. "whatever makes you happy." jaehyun smiled and grabbed hyuck's hand to lead him into the store.

- time skip -

"daddy! uncle jaehyun got me the best shoes ever!" hyuck said excitedly in the car.

johnny looked down at the shoes that hyuck purchased and it made him smile. "those would look adorable on you." hyuck giggled, "that's why i bought them!"

as they got home, everyone sat at the dinner table to enjoy burgers and talk about hyuck's first day of school.

"i made two new friends!" hyuck said proudly. "one of them is a year older and he taught me to read your note." johnny felt proud that hyuck was having a great time at school. "i almost got in trouble though, my teacher always had other teachers walking in and it was very annoying because i wanted to know what happened to the lion!" jaehyun laughed. "maybe they need help like when you barge into our game room." "b-but mines is more seriouser." johnny always liked having dinners like this with jaehyun and hyuck. even if they're eating soggy fries and flat burgers.
