Chapter 3

"Hiya Mione!" He greeted her with a hug and scratched the back of his head nervously.

"Harry?" She asked, shocked.

"Hello, Harry!" John and Maria said coming to the front door and shaking Harry's hand, while Hermione's mouth dropped.

"You two know each other?" Maria asked Hermione.

"How about we continue this in the dining room," John suggested.

"Yes, Mr. Granger," Harry replied, nodding casually.

"Harry, you didn't tell me you own a business and you were a millionaire," Hermione whispered in his ear as Maria and John led the way.

"I'll tell you later," Harry whispered back.

They all took seats in the circular table, which now had a flower vase with tulips in the middle surrounded by platters with Maria's Five-star turkey and glasses filled with wine.

"Thank you for having me, Mr. and Mrs. Granger," Harry gave them the Potter grin.

"John and Maria, Harry," Maria said, smiling, "and you're welcome, it's the least we could do after you accepted our partnership" Harry nodded, "So as I was asking how do you two know each other?" She asked them.

"Mom," Hermione started, "Harry's my new friend!" She beamed, brightly.

"Really?" John asked after taking a bite from the delicious turkey.

"Really." Harry confirmed, "she's a really great friend, took me on a tour of the entire of Hogwarts," Hermione slightly blushed at his comment.

"Really?" Maria asked, "Hermione rarely leaves the library, and you're the first friend she's ever got, a boy too, which was most certainly unexpected, a cute one too," she said, nudging Hermione's side.

"Mom, you're embarrassing me," Hermione whispered in her mother's ears.

"Thank you, Maria," Harry said and continued eating.

While eating Hermione surprised herself when she began thinking of she was looking ok, she brushed out her dress absent-mindingly and started fixing her hair.

"So how's work, Harry?" Maria asked.

"It's good, but it's ought to get tougher with this schoolwork, and I plan on joining Gryffindor's Cricket Team, which your daughter thoughtfully agreed to help me with, but I'll get through it one step at a time," Harry replied, giving Hermione a grateful smile.

John looked at Harry impressed by his strength to carry on despite all of life's obstacles while Maria looked at Hermione with a slight smirk on her face, Hermione blushed at the sight of her mother's smirk got back to eating pretending she didn't see.

"Harry may I have a word? Privately?" Hermione asked out of the blue.

Harry looked a bit confused, "Sure..." He replied. She got up, "Excuse us?" Hermione asked her parents, who just nodded.

Hermione grabbed her new friend's hand and led him to the backyard. The Granger's backyard was nice and simple it had a large pool, that was surrounded by tiles that were surrounded by freshly moaned grass. There were several plan trees bordering the yard and a small flower garden to the far right.

"Hermione sat on one of the lounge chairs and Harry sat beside her, "Explain why didn't you tell me the truth!" She demanded.

Harry nodded, "I didn't tell you the truth because I wanted to make friends off the real me and not make friends because I was rich, that's why Cho Chang asked me to sit next to he because she saw me drive in with my car he wanted to be friends with me because I had money, but you, you became friends with me, just for me, and I told you I was going to explain to you later because I knew your parents invited me for dinner when I heard your father was John Granger I immediately realize you were his daughter because he spoke about you in the meeting," he explained.

"Aww Harry, I'm sorry I got angry," she apologized.

"Totally understandable," he smiled at her.

"Aren't the stars beautiful tonight?" She asked, taking a bold move and placing her head on his shoulder.

His heart paced, "Sure are," He replied, doing his bold move and hugging her shoulder.

'She really is something.'

After a few minutes if enjoying each other's company and warmth, Harry heard soft, gentle snoring and was amazed to see Hermione was fast asleep on his shoulder, he chuckled nervously and then he got an idea, he took out his phone and snapped a selfie with them both, "Hermione?" Harry called for him.

"Hermione Granger?" He called again. He realized it was a lost cause and began calling for her parents when they heard his gentle yet loud calling, the ran out and looked at the scene, both smiling.

"Sorry, she might have fallen asleep," Harry chuckled nervously.

"It's no problem, Harry," John said, he walked up to his daughter and tried pulling her away from Harry, she groaned and hugged Harry's hand. John tried again but no avail.

"Look like it's up to you, Harry," John sighed, "second room upstairs on the left," he smiled, "don't worry I trust you,"

Harry nodded as Maria and John went back into their house. Harry turned to the sleeping girl beside him and admired her face, her beautiful bushy hair, and light scattered face, both complimenting each other along with her sift looking lips. Harry smiled, he knew what he was feeling.

He picked her up bridal style and smiled when she snuggled up closer to him, he just met this girl but something about her just made his heart flutter. He walked through the door and got a small nod by her parents, he walked up the stairs and followed Hermione's father's instructions and when he opened Hermione's door, he wasn't surprised when he saw the walls were bordered by bookshelves, in the middle of the room sat her light blue bed and a nightstand beside it. He laid her in the bed and she held onto his watch with no intention of letting it go. He chuckled at her behavior and unbuckled his watch. She held it closed to her stomach as she brought her knees to her chest and sleeper tightly. Harry pulled her fluffy blue blanket up to her neck and sighed.

He turned to her nightstand and saw a notebook with a pen next to it, he smiled as an idea hit him. He picked up the pen and wrote:

Hope you slept well.
- Your best friend,
- Harry Potter❤️

Harry smiled and left the room, quietly locking the door behind him. He went downstairs to see John and Maria looking at him with smiles, "Hope you had a good night, Harry," Maria said.

"I did, thanks for having me again," he replied.

"You're welcome, thank you for being Hermione's friend I couldn't think of a better person," John said.

"It's a pleasure, really is," Harry replied.

"That's sweet," Maria smiled, "Would you like to stay the night?" She asked.

"I appreciate the request but I should really get home," he walked closer to the door, "Tell Hermione it was nice seeing her," he said, "Goodnight."

"Goodnight dear, drive safe," she hugged him.

He hugged her back and shook John's hand, "I will thanks, bye!"

"Bye!" They said. Harry left the years and got into his car and drove off after a loud roar.

Meanwhile, upstairs Hermione awoke with a start due to a familiar roar of a familiar engine, she looked around to see where she was and noticed she was in her bed all covered up but still in her red dress. She felt something in her hand and saw Harry's watch, she blushed, as her stomach did twists, she found herself putting it on and her grin grew. Just when she thought her stomach couldn't so anymore twist she saw a note in her notebook, she read it and then read it again, "Best friend," she muttered and smiled, even more, she then rubbed her finger over the heart and then fell asleep clutching the note to her heart and the watch keeping her comfort.
