Chapter 20

Mr. and Mrs. Granger were in a small wobbly, one story shack, it was where the dreamy blonde hair girl told them to stay until they heard a signal, an owl's hoot in fact, that meant they were safe and they could come out. Maria was visibly shaking in the hands of her husband, who left terrified himself.

John was mentally slapping himself because he left his daughter, with goons and a mass murderer running around in a school. Despite Hermione telling him that this is what they were training for and she could handle it, he felt worried and sad. The only thing keeping him and his wife from collapsing was the fact that their daughter was with Harry Potter.

John felt a close connection to this young man, a connection that he never felt with anyone else, and bit because this bit was his future son-in-law, but his kindness; The Granger's Dentistry was a small and unpopular business, and was an ant compared to Potter Industries, but yet when John offered the little benefits that came with the partnership between the two companies, Harry accepted, with no hesitation. The deal made Granger's Dentistry a smashing success.

The two adult Granger's were silent as could be, they would jump at intervals when the heard explosions, but they kept their calm, the gunshots all of a sudden seized and they wondered why. Was it over? They didn't know and they weren't going to move until they heard the owl's hoot.

Minutes went by and all of a sudden a large explosion made Maria shriek but John quickly covered her mouth, before it now their cover, this particular explosion was louder than the rest and it felt more dreadful than the rest.

After a few minutes, the couple heard something they were waiting for a long time to hear, someone was hooting to them and soon to talk redheads entered the creepy shack. John instinctively stood in front of his wife.

"...Don't worry..." Said Fed Weasley.

"...we're on your side..." Continued George Weasley.

"....yeah Harry Potter's side...we're for you there's something...."

"....rather dreadful..."

"...that happened...."

The adult Granger's looked at each other, "Does this have to do anything with my daughter?" John demanded.

"...I'm afraid so, Mister..." George said.

"....you see minutes ago there was an explosion in the great hall and the roof fell on top of your daughter..." Fred finished.

Maria staggered back and John held on to her and they began crying.

"...Don't worry Mr. and Mrs...."

"....She's being transported to St. Mungo's hospital, she hasn't sustained alot of injuries..."

"... She's alive..." This made them sigh in relief.

"....Madame Pomfrey said she'll be ok...."

"...The reason she's still alive is because of..."

"....Harry Potter...."

"....Yeah, he used his body as a shield to protect your daughter..." The adults gasped.

"....He's the one you should be worried about..."

"Is Harry okay!?" Maria asked, her body still shaking.

"I'm not really sure..." George admitted.

"...His body looked pale and severally injured, he's breathing though, but he doesn't look so good, several huge clumps of rocks were on top of him..." Fed continued.

...

After being treated by medics for minor cuts, John and Maria were transported to St. Mungo's Hospital where they sat in the waiting room hugging each other, looking expectingly at each doctor that came out any door, even if it was the washroom.

They waited and waited, some Hogwarts professors like Professor McGonagall even showed up and apologized for what happened, they replied saying that no one could expect what happened, it just...happened.

After about two hours if anxious waiting and soft sobbing from Maria, a female doctor, finally came out of an important looking room and came up to the Granger's, "Are you Mr. and Mrs. Granger?" She asked.

"Yes, we are, how's our daughter?" John asked.

A smile came upon the woman's stressed face, "She's okay, she's been giving some sleeping pills and she will be fine when she woke up, the only thing is that she took a blow to the head and her skull's a bit damaged, but nothing to be worried about, she might have to stay for a few days though, she's lucky for Mr. Potter's heroic actions, if he hadn't done what he did, I'm afraid that the injuries would have been much fatal."

"Phew," they said, with a sigh of relief.

"And what about Harry?" Maria asked.

The woman seemed to cringe but read from the clipboard, she had in her hand, "3 Gunshot wounds, a severe stab wound, multiple severe gashes, three broken ribs, right leg's broken and so is his left wrist, he's lost a lot of blood so he might be unconscious for some days, his body looked pretty mangled when we found him."

The adult Granger's winced at every word the woman said, Harry's lucky to be bloody alive, and he took all that to save their daughter's loves, both found years in their eyes.

"Can we see them?" Asked Maria, eager to see the boy that saved those only daughter's life.

"I suppose...." She said a bit reluctant, until she saw their pleading faces, "Ok then, but their in separate rooms, who would you like to visit first?" She asked.

"I think we should visit Harry first, so we can spend the night with Hermione," John said to his wife.

"That's right," Maria said, "Hermione then!" She told the doctor.

The doctor nodded, "This way."

When the nurse opened the doors to Emergency Room, where Harry was, John gasped and tears fell from Maria's eyes, as they looked at Harry's mangled and bloody body, the doctor left to give them their privacy.

They sat in the presented chairs next to his hospital bed and Maria ran her hand through the boy's hair, "We ought to thank you Harry, you scared out girl's life, how can we ever repay you, you've done so much for our family, you've helped out business boom, you've been Hermione's best friend always and now you've saved her life, we're so grateful, honey," said Maria as her husband comforted her.

Harry's finger twitched and his eyebrows furrowed, "M-mione?" He asked, hoarsely, "Mione?!" He said, loudly now.

"Dear, Hermione's okay, you need to rest...John get the doctor!" Shouted Maria.

John nodded and ran out the room, soon returning with about a dozen doctors, Harry's heart rate quickened and so did his breath and Maria gasped loudly and covered her mouth, the same woman doctor from earlier injected something into Harry shoulder and asked for them to leave now and told them the directions to Hermione's room.

When they exited, John had to comfort a shaking Maria again. After she was consoled they left for Hermione's hospital room.

When they arrived in the room, they were relieved to see just a bandage around Hermione's head and some small cuts here and there.

They sat by the presented chairs, right next to Hermione, who was sleeping, Maria stroked her hair, while John stroked her cheek, "We're glad you're okay, honey."

And soon the relieved parents fell asleep.

...

Her head blazed as she finally regained consciousness, the smell of the room reminder her of her dad's dentist office, maybe that's where she was on one of her dentist appointments with her father, that had to be the answer, it was the only logical answer. But if she was in a dentists' office, why were so many tubes connected to her body? And why was she wearing a ventilator? She heard beeping besides her and it confirmed that she wasn't on a dentist, no, she was in a hospital!

The memories of the night came flushing in immediately, the dungeons, her parents, escaping, running, hiding, fighting, fainting, waking up, being nearly naked and nearly being raped and Harry. He saved her, multiple times, where was he? She remembered when he took multiple shots for her, how he wanted to protect her even if it means his life would be risked, his he came to rescue her when she was nearly raped, and she bearly remembered when he kissed her lightly and told her he loved her.

She opened her eyes and confirmed that she was in a hospital bed, her head thumped but she didn't mind anymore, she wanted to know where Harry was, where her Harry was. She looked around and saw her parents sleeping heads on each other. She smiled.

After she realized that Harry wasn't in the same room as her, her eyes came upon something that laid on the nightstand besides her, it brought years to her eyes, as she looked at the watch that had scratches and cracks all over the screen, she picked it up and traced her finger over the face of the watch, some of the numerals fell out from their position and the same went for the hour hand.

Harry. She wanted Harry!

"Harry!" She said, tears flowing down her eyes, she hoped he wasn't too badly hurt, she didn't remember much after Harry kissed her.

"H-Harry!" She broke down.

Her parents awoke because if the sobbing, "Hermione dear!" Gasped Maria, "Are you okay? Why we you crying?" She asked, frantically.

"Harry!" She yelled, "I want Harry!"

"Dear calm down," John said.

After she composed herself Hermione took a deep breath, "I'm okay now, how's Harry?" She demanded.

Her parents looked at each other, "Um..." Maria couldn't find the right words.

"Mom..." She said expectingly, when her mother turned away with years in her eyes, Hermione turned to her dad and had a silent argument, John sighed in defeat and told her everything the doctor told them, by the end Hermione was crying softly.

"...he placed his body over you to protect you and when we went to visit him something happened to him and he called for you and then he started breathing hardly and then the doctors came in and then the doctors injected him with simething and then..."

"Calm down John, you're supposed to be telling me that not the other way around," Maria said, causing them to chuckle.

Hermione's frown returned, "I hope he's okay..." She said.

Her parents held her hand, "He will dear, he will for you."
