Chapter 14

After Hermione saw the lake look of Harry, after he read the article, she held hugged his head, be side she was sitting in his lap, to comfort him, the man who killed Harry's parents and the man who wants to kill Harry as well, has escaped from one of the most high security prisons of London, heck, the world itself.

"That's not all," Sirius gulped as he turned to a specific page of the newspaper, it read:

'Headmaster of Hogwarts, Albus Dumbledore, found dead in his office in Hogwarts.

By Ann Basel

In the late hours of yesterday, Hogwarts headteacher, Albus Dumbledore, was found dead in his office, by Deputy Headmistress, Minerva McGonagall, with multiple bullet wounds to his abdomen, chest and head. His killing was brutal and the Prime Minister of London, Cornelius Fudge, said he has reason to believe that murder was the work of Tom Riddle, who has escaped girl Azkaban on the same day(page 2).

The article went on paying tribute to the fallen headmaster.

Harry dropped the newspaper and Hermione held his hand, he finally spoke, "Do you think he's escaped to...finish the family?" Harry asked, Hermione tightened her grip on his hand.

"I'm afraid so, Harry, the newspaper didn't say something, but since I am your guardian they've told me," Sirius said, he took a deep breath then continued, "The police said that, Riddle, killed on of the guards using his spoon to shove down his throat, theft the key from him, opened his cell, he dragged the dead guard into his cell and took of his knife and cut him open and used his blood to write, 'The Potter Family will pay, with the death of their heir'," Sirius explained, Hermione gasped.

"So why did he go after Dumbledore?" Harry asked.

"I presume, to ask for your location," Sirius said.

"How did he know that I was going there?" Harry asked, "It wasn't in the news, so it means..."

"There's a traitor in the school," Hermione finished.

"Yes, Hermione," Sirius nodded, "But I don't think you should stay at Potter Manor, that's the next place he would probably go," Explained Sirius.

"So where can I stay?" Asked Harry, "Grimmauld Place?"

"No, Grimmauld Place is no longer safe, I'm staying with Remus, I really don't know where you can stay," Sirius replied, sighing.

"He could stay with me," Hermione said.

"No, too risky," Harry said, "If you got hurt, I just can't–"

"Harry, I think she's got a point," Sirius said.

"But–"

"Does Riddle know you have associations with Hermione?" He asked.

"No. But what if the traitor does, we're really close in school," Harry said.

"Hermione dies anyone know where you stay?" Sirius asked.

"No one at all,Sirius, no one lives by my side, because it's a countryside and most people live in the main city, besides I haven't gotten any friends, before Harry, and I was always ignored," Hermione replied, Sirius showing a hint of sorry in his eyes.

"Well, I guess it decided," Sirius nodded as Harry sighed, "But we'll have to take precautions."

"Like what?" Hermione asked.

Sirius sighed and took a seat closest to them, he took out a notebook from his blazer and began writing,. "First of all, I'll speak to the government and they would probably arrange for officers to be at the Hogwarts grounds, Harry I know you may not like this but I'm afraid we'll have to get you to carry around weapons, you already have your license, Hogwarts isn't safe anymore," Sirius said.

Harry nodded and Hermione asked, "You have a gun licence?"

"Yeah, it was compulsory since I'm living by myself," He replied, calmly.

"Wow," she replied.

"We'll have to stash weapons around the school, the shrieking shack maybe, I'll talk to Minerva about it, I heard she will be the new headteacher, and I suppose other students would need training as well, I bet you've already made friends?" Sirius asked.

"Yes, but, parents as well as teachers, will never allow students to use guns, Sirius," Harry said.

"They are other weapons than guns, James," Sirius sighed, "But you make a fair point,"

They sat in some moment of silence as Sirius wrote and scratched in his notebook, "The parents won't agree but will the students themselves agree?" He finally asked.

"I'm not entirely sure," Harry said.

"We can ask my student government in our next meeting," said Hermione.

"Even if they agree, there's still no way McGonagall will agree, for students to be trained to fight with weapons," said Harry, who considered the stern woman.

"She doesn't need to know Harry."

...

Hermione was back home reading a book, an hour ago Harry dropped her home so he could go back to the Manor and gather all of his portable possessions and Hermione knew it would be hard for him to just choose on car out if his collection to bring.

Hermione, however, had her own problems to worry about, she had to try and convince her parents to let Harry stay, she decided to leave the 'A killer is looking for Harry Potter' part out of the conversation, instead she was going to tell them that he's always awfully lonely at home. She also had to explain to her parents that she and Harry were now dating.

Once again, she wasn't worried about her mother's reaction to the news, but her father's, he never wanted a bit stay in his home, let alone her now boyfriend, then again he thinks highly of Harry and Harry is partly to thank for their business' success, because of their partnerships.

The Granger's had a guest bedroom in the two story home, which Hermione was grateful to be next to her bedroom, so they could sneak over and snog or just cuddle together. Hermione thought the room wasn't much, especially when she thought about Harry's luxury bedroom, but she knew Harry wouldn't mind, he was always too modest. The gust bedroom was a large blue bedroom, with a king sized bed on the middle of the room above a white fluffy rug, besides the bed sat a nightstand similar to Hermione's and the walls were decorated by bookshelves that had books that couldn't hold in Hermione's 'sanctuary'.

The door opened and instinctively Hermione looked to see who it was, as usual her parents came in with bright smiles on their faces, Hermione beamed at them before she remembered the task at hand, the task to keep the young man she loved, safe, "Good Evening, Hermione dear," Maria beamed at her, with her motherly grin.

"Good Evening, pumpkin," John said, locking the door closely.

"Good evening, mom and dad, we have to talk," she said, quickly.

Her mother looked happy, as if she knew what the conversation was going to be about and her father looked a bit worried, usually when Hermione wanted to talk about something, it was something bad, whenever it was something good she wanted to talk about she wouldn't say she needed to talk, because she would always blurt it out.

"Ok, honey," her parents replied. They took off their jackets and their business bags and returned them to their proper place. They then went into the living room where Hermione already was

"So what is it, you wanted to talk about?" John asked his only daughter.

"Well dad and mom, me and Harry are dating," she admitted, beaming at them.

Maria squealed and hugged her daughter while John sat there looking bewildered, "I'm sorry if you don't agree dad," Hermione said, "But I'm not leaving Harry and he's never leaving me either."

"No no, he's the best bloke I can think of for you, he's your best friend, not to mention your first friend, but I have to ask you a question," John said, surprised Hermione. Hermione nodded.

"Are you happy with him? Does he make you happy? Does he live you as much as you live him?" He asked.

Hermione nodded, almost frantically, "Yes dad, he's made me the happiest girl in the world and he loves me more than I love him and I love him a lot," Hermione said.

"Well, I'm happy for you then, your mom's made me realize that you're not a little girl anymore, and me and your mom were dating before your age, just make sure he loves you, ok?" Her dad said, messing up her hair.

"Yes dad, I'm glad you're happy for me," She said.

"Of course we are dear, we'll stand by you through everything ok life, even when we die," Maria said, hugging back her daughter.

"Don't talk about death now," Hermione said, beginning to sob.

"Hermione, it's like what Dumbledore told me and your dad, death is the next great adventure," Hermione's mom said, "Speaking of Dumbledore did you hear of his death?"

Hermione nodded, "I have, they believe it to be Tom Riddle," she said.

"Oh yeah she's escaped," John said, oblivious to the fact that Riddle was after Harry.

"Is that all you wanted to speak about, dear?" Maria asked.

"No, mom, there's one more thing," Hermione said, taking a deep breath.

"Ok dear, go ahead," said John.

Hermione took another deep breath, what her father just said about her relationship was a great relief and it somehow helped in her request, "Daddddd......can Harry spend some days with us please, he's awfully alone in hiss house and has no one to speak to, can you please let him stay, I promise we won't do anything romantic, please?" Hermione said, quickly.

Her parents looked at each other, as if they were having a silent, telepathic conversation, after a few minutes, Hermione free anxious and impatient, "Well?" She asked.

Her parents looked at her and sighed, "Alright," they said.

"Really!?" Hermione gasped, they nodded, "Thank you!" She hugged them.

"Yes it'll be nice to talk to him as something more than a business partner and friend, but as a future father-in-law," John said and winked at Hermione.

"Dad!" Hermione said and blushed bright red.

"Hehe," he said, with a smirk, "And you can do your romantic stuff, just not too much, ok?"

She blushed even more, "Thank you," she kissed them and ran upstairs to convey the news with Harry.

...

After Hermione explained to Harry that he could stay with her, he thanked her and left for the Granger's Residence.

After Hermione began pacing in her room, because he wasn't here yet, an engine roared into the driveway and then the doorbell rang, "That must be Harry!" Maria said from the kitchen.

Hermione ran down the stairs if the house, as quick as she could, and found her mom and dad were already at the door, peaking to Harry. She wiggled her way through her parents and jumped onto her boyfriend, legs and everything. Harry hang on to her, dropping his trunk and looked at John, who winked at him and mouthed that he was ok with it.

Harry felt a brush of relief as he saw Hermione's parents nod and walked into the kitchen. Hermione finally let go and held his hand, "Hi Harry," she kissed his lips softly.

"Hi, love," he replied, kissing back.

When they finally broke apart, Harry asked, "How did they take the news?"

"Very well, I'm actually surprised, dad said he couldn't think of a better man to be mine and treat me right," She replied.

She then rubbed her hand over Harry's eye, which was black now after his bandages were taken off, "Feeling better?" She asked.

"I am, thank you," he replied.

Hermione tiptoed to look over his shoulder, "You both the Lambo?" She asked.

Harry sighed, "I had to decide on one, eventually, I asked Sirius to help but he said I had to figure out which one I wanted to take, but it's a risk I rather take and besides you're more important than any car," he pecked her lips.

"You're too sweet," She replied, "Now let's go see my parents?"

"Sure," replied Harry.

Hermione giggled when she saw him nervously fix his attire, "Nervous?" She asked.

"Well, it's the first time I'm meeting your parents as your boyfriend, why shouldn't I be nervous?" He asked back.

"C'mon Harry, they love you!" She grabbed his hands and he grabbed his trunk and they walked into the kitchen.

When they looked around they found that they weren't in the kitchen but actually the backyard and they were snogging, Harry's eyes widened, and he looked away from his snogging business partners.

Hermione looked away as well and pulled him back in the house, "I think we should check back with them, their busy, let me show you your room?" She asked.

"Brilliant!" He replied.

Hermione beamed and dragged him up the stairs of the house, she showed him her parents to and said he shouldn't go in there in case they were doing what they were doing in the backyard, or sometimes more. After they had the laugh, Hermione led him to a door at the end of the hallway, "This is your room, right next to mine!" She winked at him.

Harry opened the door and Hermione was glad he liked it, "Brilliant!" He said. Hermione sat on his bed as he emptied out the contents of his trunk into a white dresser.

When he finished he sat next to Hermione, who took a seat on his lap, just before the began snogging, Maria called for them, "Harry, Hermione, Dinner!"

Harry groaned and Hermione giggled and kissed him quickly and jumped off his lap with a small thump on the floor, "Race ya!" She smirked and ran off.

Harry eyes widened as he saw her ran off, "Hey, you cheated!"

Harry found Hermione at the bottom of the staircase and he made two daring jumps and was at the bottom as well, Hermione saw his jumps and stood their shocked, she was so shocked that she didn't realize Harry was carrying her bridal style now, "Hey put me down!" She tried to wiggle out but he brought her up and kissed her on her nose.

"That's what you get!" He said, with a evil smirk, Harry placed her down and she stuck out her tongue they walked into the dining room, hand in hand.

Maria and John were already in the dining room, that now had four chairs, silently chatting when they noticed the teens come in, they stopped and grinned at their intertwined hands, "Good Evening, John and Maria," Harry said, "Thanks for letting me stay, I hope I'm not a burden."

"Nonsense!" John said, "We love having you here, especially now that you're having an affair with my daughter."

"I hope you're not against it, I really love her," Harry said, squeezing Hermione's hand.

"No no, I could never come in between you two," replied John, smiling.

"Come have your seats," Maria said, indicating to the two empty chairs at the mahogany table.

They nodded and sat down at the table, "Your eye looks better," John said, looking at Harry's black eye.

"It is feeling better," Harry replied, "The food looks great!" Said Harry. Of course Maria had outdone herself with another five star dish.

"Thank you, Harry," Maria said.

"So John, how's work?" Harry asked, a bit nervous. He and John went into a deep conversation, concerning work that quickly changed into sports.

Hermione and Maria rolled their eyes, "Men," Maria said.

Hermione giggled and continued eating dinner until her mother said, "You're right Hermione, his eyes really are gorgeous."

"I know, I get lost in them," She replied.

"They do look dreamy," Maria stated.

Hermione nodded, soon the boys finished their conversation and turned to the girls, "Don't you agree?" Asked John.

"Oh...um..." The girls were lost for words, "Yesss?" The said, unsurely.

"I told you!" John said and pointed to Harry. There was a moment of silence until the lot bursted out laughing.

Dinner was finished now, with some scattered conversations and Harry and Hermione playing with each other's legs. Harry got up and began picking up the plates, "What do you think you're doing?" Maria asked.

"The dishes, oh sorry, I'm used to it," Harry said.

"Well you out them down, you're our guest, why don't you and Hermione wash up your hands and do whatever you want," Maria suggested, giving Hermione a wink that went unnoticed by the two boys.

Harry and Hermione nodded and they went to was their hands, after drying then Hermione took his hand and led him to the backyard, "That's the first place I fell asleep on you," she said, pointing to a familiar lounge chair.

Harry nodded, and held up her hand, "And that's the day you theft my favorite watch," he said, looking at the watch on her hand.

"Hey, you let me keep it!" She said.

"I know, I know, I'm only joking with you," he said, quickly, before he spoiled the mood of the night.

She rolled her eyes. Harry took her hand back and led her to the same lounge chair, he sat down and she took the same position she had the last time they were on the lounge chair. The sky was glistering with the moon and scattered bright stars, Harry printed up to the brightest one of the lot, "Whenever I missed my parents, I would go into my roof and pretend the brightest star in the sky was them, u used to let out all my secrets and troubles to that one star, I think the stars in the sky know more about me than I know about myself, it's silly I know," he said.

Hermione looked at him, sympathetically, "It's not silly Harry, it's something a lot of people do, it's like self therapy," she said, "It really isn't silly."

"Thanks," He replied and leaned in, Hermione smiled because she could cheer him up and met his lips halfway, after a few minutes of passionate snogging, Hermione pulled away and looked him in the eyes, "I love you."

"I love you too," he replied, Hermione took the collar of his shirt and yanked it so they could continue what they started.

"Ahem," Someone said, the couple broke apart to see John and Maria looking at them, "Sorry to interrupt but it's time for you two to go to bed, separate beds, good night."

With that being said, the married couple left the unmarried couple alone, "Well, I don't want to upset your dad, so we'll continue this tommorow?" He asked, eyes filled with hope.

She giggled childishly, "Of course, good night, love," she said.

"Good night, love."
