Chapter 21

It's been two long and stressful days every since Harry and Hermione had been administered to St. Mungo's Hospital and Hermione was feeling much better but the doctors said she had to stay since it was procedure, s far she had to take only one surgery for her head and it was successful.

She really missed Harry the only thing giving her hope was his broken watch that she clutched to her heart. She heard from her parents that Harry hadn't waken up as yet, but he was showing signs of improvement. She heard from Professor McGonagall that the school was already rebuilding and that all of the members of Dumbledore's Army have all survived and will be awarded medals, she heard that Tom Riddle's dead body was found and taken care of, Professor McGonagall also said that some students and many police officers weren't as lucky as them and she also talked to Hermione about the tragic death of Sirius Black.

She wondered how Harry was taking the news of Sirius's death, also dead was Professor Flitwick who was shot and then stabbed mercilessly.

Hermione was glad that Tom Riddle was now dead and won't be troubling the Potter family any more. She was also glad that Harry would be glad that he can have back his car collection and return to his home, although she wanted him to stay so she could snog him senseless whenever she liked.

She figured now that Harry saved her, her parents would allow permission for him to come over and stay whenever he wanted to, he was her knight in shining armor, and now he must be feeling a lot of pain because of her.

Hermione felt that she was partially to blame for Harry's injuries, if she wasn't so scared at her home she could've prevented the stab that Harry took for her. She felt that if she didn't allow herself to get caught, she wouldn't have been brought to Hogwarts to be used as bait to lure Harry.

She was glad that the D.A came up with a plan before they ran blindly into the castle. She was partly to thank for the brilliant plans that were made for different scenarios, because she made some, herself.

Today, was the day Hermione finally got some hope that Harry was okay, after drinking some Medici and eating some breakfast, which was brought from her parents, a doctor came into her room smiling brightly, "He's awake!" She exclaimed.

All three occupants of the room exhaled in relief that their Harry was okay, "Can we visit him?" Hermione asked.

"I'm afraid not as yet, dear," The woman replied, making them frown, "He needs some time to himself for now, but he asked me to give this to you," she presented a note to her.

Hermione grinned brightly, it's been a long time since she received on of these, she could see his handwriting was messy, probably because his hand was hurt, it read:

'Hi Mione, I hope that you're alright, I really do, the nice doctor told me you're better and I'm grateful to God that that you are. My body hurts but I'm getting better by the second, please hurry and visit me, I miss you terribly.
- I love you
- Your boyfriend,
- Harry Potter❤️'

She smiled and held the nite close to her heart, she couldn't help notice the changes in the note, first best friend, then bestest friend and now boyfriend's. She sighed and rubbed his name and the heart, like she always did. She turned to her mom.

"I'll add it to the box," she said smiling brightly, "And don't worry I won't read it." She winked.

Hermione's blushed, "Mommm."

...

The day finally came when Harry and Hermione could visit each other and instead of having to get up and visit each other constantly, Harry's bed was going to be brought to Hermione's room.

Hermione waited impatiently, her parents had gone home to do some repairs on the house after the break-in and all the other students, who were injured, returned home.

The room door bursted open and Harry was brought in on his hospital bed ,by doctors, with bandages on his wrist, leg and left arm, around his forehead and some around his cheeks, but yet he had a smile on his face.

"Harry!" Hermione shrieked.

He chuckled, "Mione," he said softly. Hermione figured he couldn't talk so hard as yet.

The doctors brought his bed next to hers and as soon as they could, they connected hands, the doctors left to give the couple their privacy.

"I missed you, Harry" Hermione said.

"I missed you too, Mione," he replied, squeezing her hand.

Tears began dripping down her eyes, "You look in a lot of pain, Harry, and it's my fault, if I would've defended myself against that blonde bastard this wouldn't have happened," she cried.

Harry struggled a bit but brought his hand up to her face and wiped her tears away, "It's bit your fault, Mione, it's Riddle's, you were frightened, it's totally understandable, you're not responsible for this," he said.

She sniffled, "Thanks Harry, for being here for me, for saving me, being my human shield that I can always hide behind and not be scared, thanks for being there for me," she said.

Harry held her hand again and brought her hand to his lips and softly kissed it.

"Always."

Days later Hermione was told she could leave but didn't Harry still had a few more days left in the hospital and she stayed their cuddling with him, trying bit to hurt him of course, with occasional snogging sessions, she would Bering him his Neal's and feed him and they'd spend time chatting, whenever they weren't snogging.

The Professors came in and personally thanked him , Professor McGonagall said that they'd not only be awarded national medals but they, along with every other member of Dumbledore's Army, will be awarded Special Services to the school on the first day back to school.

"McGonagall seems to really like you," Hermione said, when the woman left the hospital room.

"Professor McGonagall!" Hermione scolded, chuckling.

The wonderful castle named Hogwarts was already rebuilt, since their wasn't much to fix, thanks to Harry diffusing the bombs, and school would be reopening in the coming week.

Harry was to be released tommorow evening, because he was showing great signs of improvement, he'll just have to keep the bandages on and he had to be using crutches. Hermione knew this would make him more depressed than he already was, because he won't be able to drive, but she seemed to cheer him up with a little, we, a lot of snogging.

Hermione also convinced, with little effort, her parents to let Harry stay some days until he felt better. So, things were seeming good and probably it was going to stay this way.

...

The day to day when school was to reopen came and Maria bad John drive Harry and Hermione to school, on the way there Harry and Hermione had a fierce and competitive game of 'Cars', which Harry won because he knew more cars than Hermione so he had more brands to add to the table.

They walked towards the doors of the Great Hall, which was suspiciously closed, Hermione shuddered as terrible memories came back into her head, Harry held her hand, resting one of his crutches in the door and hugged her one handed and gave her a quick, sweet kiss.

This made her feel much better and she gave him a reassuring look and pecked his cheek, "Thanks, love," she replied.

Harry nodded and pushed open the door, they were met by a loud standing ovation, all tables have either been repaired or destroyed and returned to their rightful place, the place was lit by sunlight and large torches around the place, made the place look warm and welcoming again.

The standing ovation continued as Harry and Hermione walked in between the house tables and towards the head table, which was missing a squeaky teacher, besides the table has a few Government officials, who were also beaming. The couple was joined by all the rest if the members of Dumbledore's Army and when they arrived in the large stage the applause stopped and McGonagall came with them with tears if joy.

She said some words about each of the students before placing the award around their necks and giving them the Special Services trophies.
