Chapter 11

The crowd gasped as bushy haired girl screamed, when they saw Draco Malfoy, Slytherins' Cricket Captain, hit the ball, bowled by the new Gryffindor all-rounder: Harry Potter, straight back to him and hit him in the face. Harry staggered back and fell to the ground as half of the team went over to him as the other half ran to probably kill the blonde, luckily his team ran into the ground to stop him from dying too early.

"Down goes Harry Potter because of Malfoy, that little-"

"Jordon!"

Everyone except for the team members, teachers and umpires were not allowed to enter the field, but Hermione was ready to break the rules so she could find Harry and make sure he was alright. Hermione made an attempt to leave the stands but the Prefects stoped her, she tried to get out of their grip, but she couldn't.

She shot them a death glare and sat back in her seat, with comfort from Luna, as tears began to run down her eyes. She saw Professor McGonagall run into the ground followed by Professor Dumbledore, Professor Snape and Madame Pomfrey, the crowd of players were still around her crush, so Hermione couldn't see if he was okay. Madame Pomfrey along with Professor Dumbledore entered the crowd, while Professor McGonagall and Professor Snape went to part the fight that was going to happen between Oliver Wood and Draco Malfoy, before it happened.

Hermione wasn't concentrating on how Malfoy was going to get punished instead she was looking for some sort of sign of hope from the crowd. Finally Neville Longbottom came out if the crowd and he had blood on his hands, he walked over to the stand Hermione was on and asked the Prefects to speak to her and Luna.

After a quick kiss between Neville and Luna, Neville turned to Hermione, who started bombarding him with questions "What's happened to him? Is he alright? Can he talk? Is he conscious?"

"Hermione slow down," Neville said, as Luna cleaned the blood from his hand, "Malfoy hit Harry with the ball in his eye, which is bleeding" he began, making her winch, "he fell down and he hurt his head, making him unconscious until a few seconds later," Neville explained, "The medics are tending to him right there because he still wants to continue," he winced, because he knew Hermione's reaction.

"What!?" She raged, "He can't possibly think that he will go out there now, he has to rest!" She ran to the ground and the Prefects sighed and stay down in defeat.

Hermione ran so fast, you'd think she was faster than Usain Bolt, she finally parted to the crouch, to see Harry laying on a stretcher, his eyes closed and his right one being tend to, he had a bandage wrapped around his forehead, "Harry!?" She yelled and kneeled down next to him, she grabbed his hand.

"H-Hermione?" He said and squeezed her hand.

"Are you ok?" She asked, calming down.

"Yes I'm fine, but they don't want me to play," Hermione glanced at Dumbledore, who shrugged and went to stop the argument between Snape and McGonagall about Malfoy's punishment.

"Harry, I agree with them, you need to rest!" She told him.

"I don't want to, I'm fine, it's my first game and I'm not just going to abandon it!" He said, and then yelled as Madame Pomfrey placed a bandage on his eye.

Hermione sighed, "Can't he play anytime during this game?" She asked the medic.

"Well..." Madame Pomfrey said, "He can't play got this half of the game, but if he feels better for the next half(Where he'll have to bat)...he can play," She explained.

"Hear that Harry?" Hermione asked, "If you feel better for the next half you can play!" She exclaimed.

Harry smiled, "Thanks, Mione, you're awesome!"

She blushed, "Shut up,"

...

Harry and Hermione were in the locker room, he had to take off his shirt because it was bloody and it caused Hermione to blush at his well-toned body, she keep stealing glances at his abs and mentally facepalm herself. Madame Pomfrey gave him some pain killers and and medicines to help with his pain.

"How much overs left?" Harry asked her.

"Three more, Harry," She sighed, "Are you sure you're fine enough to play?" She asked for the millionth time.

"I'm sure I'm sure" Harry replied, "Thanks for caring for me,"

"You're welcome, Harry," She smiled, she was going to lay on his bare chest if it wasn't for Oliver interrupting, "I hope I'm not interrupting something, but, it's time Potter you're going to bat after Neville, you ready?"

"You were interrupting something," Harry muttered under his breath, making Hermione giggle and blush, "Yeah, I'm ready!" He sat up.

"Good!" Oliver said, "We have to make a hundred and two runs in 17 overs," he explained and then left.

Harry put on his new Gryffindor jersey and started putting on his cricket gear, with the help of Hermione. When he put on the helmet, Hermione raised it up and kissed the corner of his mouth, "Be careful and good luck, I'll be in the stands," she said, blushing. Before he could stop blushing and reply she had already run out of the room.

...

"And there goes Neville Longbottom, after a cheeky delivery from Crabbe," said the commentator, Jordan.

Hermione's heart began to pace as she knew who the next batsman was, "I can't believe it folks," said Lee Jordan, "It's Harry Potter! He's back! I would never expect someone to return to the cricket ground for awhile after injuries like that!"

Harry walked out in the pitch, looking bold and strong, he walked to the pitch after what looked like some painful warmups and fistbumped the non-striker batsman, Fred Weasley, who also patted his shoulder.

The bowler at the moment was now, Fredrick Smith, a tall, light skinned Slytherin pace bowler.

"Captain Malfoy, even thought he should've been suspended, has took an offensive approach to Potter with a pace bowler to try and get him out early," Said Jordan.

Hermione's fingers were crossed as she watched Harry struggling to stay straight for a moment.

First delivery bowled, Harry missed, same for the second, but on the third he hit it and switched positions with Fred, making Hermione sighed in relief that he won't have to face anymore balls.

Fred hit the next ball for a four and the two batsman fistbumped and got back to their safety crease.

The next ball was a dot ball.

Harry was on strike in the fifth over of the match and the bowler was non other than Draco Malfoy. Malfoy was ready to charge and Harry was sure that it might not end well for him. He looked towards his inspiration, who was clutching his watch to her heart and smiled, he steadied himself and raised his back ready to strike at the blonde git. Malfoy(pace bowler) staggered back at the new determined face that Harry was rocking now.

"I don't know who feels more scared!" Jordon announced, "After Potter took a glance at the stadium he was struck by a whole truck load of confidence, who's the lucky girl?"

Hermione blushed, she knew Harry looked at her just now.

Malfoy began running and he released the ball and it went out if the stadium, "What a performance!" Jordon yelled.

"Whoo-hoo!" Hermione yelled.

...

The match continued perfectly for Gryffindor after Harry began hitting the balls around the place, it was the last delivery of the game and there was three runs left to be made, Harry was on strike and had already made his half century. Fred's wicket was taken when he was 23 runs, but Oliver came in and helped Harry in making the remaining runs.

Malfoy who was already embarrassed by Harry hitting all his deliveries for boundaries, faked an injury and got pity from some Slytherin girls, which he liked.

The current bowler, Flinch, was bowling and ready to strike, Harry took a deep breath and looked towards Hermione who winked at him, making him blush. And he turned back to the bowler who just released the ball and smashed it just over the boundary line, winning the match.

The crowd, Gryffindors, roared at the underdog preformance by the new all-rounder, Harry Potter. Oliver embraced his new game winning weapon and patted his shoulder. The rest of the team ran out to celebrate and the Prefects didn't take a second glance at Hermione after they saw her run for the ground.

Harry was being hugged and patted by the players as they celebrated his debut. Then someone threw themselves on to him from the back and he quickly shifted Hermione's position so he was giving her a piggy back.

"You did it!" She exclaimed as he walked towards the locker room with her still in him.

"I did, but I needed my inspiration," he replied, "You."
