Eagerly walking through the corridors next day, I anticipated the moment when I'd see the ballerina of my dreams gliding across the crystal floors to the light melody flowing in the air. As I peeked inside the umbrageous halls, a sigh of relief escaped my lips for the delicate dancer of my fantasies was twirling around and painting galaxies on my heart. I smiled as I thought that she could write poetry on the canvas of air without even striving for words.

My hand reached my camera like I had been lost in a desert and I had found an oasis after a whole day of suffering. Desperately, I clicked a shot that I had missed for the past two days and squinted down at the photograph in my hand. The idea of holding her so close to me mesmerised me to such an extent that I couldn't bring myself to walk away from those halls that day, but in the end...I did.

I knew I needed to talk to her but the peaceful side of this silent lake attracted me so much that I was afraid to create ripples in the dazzling reflection of the wonderful love story of my dreams. As long as the silence was absorbing my love, I didn't want to disturb it for the sake of my longings. To me, my love was more important than my desire. The concept of rejection frightened me so much that I wasn't ready to give it all a try even.

The whole school finally knew that Faye Pearl was innocent. The red haired girl had been dismissed from taking part in the competition and I needed nothing more than the 7:00 am smile that she had passed my way that morning after two days of pain. All I ever wanted was her happiness and safety...and I had it now.

That night when I lay in my bed surrounded by her photographs, I smiled and looked out of my window at the full moon that shed moonlight on my resting body. My smile widened as an image crossed my mind before I allowed myself to get drunk on her dreams again.

The image of a photograph of the red haired girl holding the silver ballet shoes in the shady corridors of silent halls. The photograph taken by an anonymous person..that rested in between the pages of Principal's register by now.
