Chapter VIII

"Wow..." Beca uttered, making Chloe laugh softly.

The brunette was currently lying on her back with Chloe resting on top of her. The redhead was gently toying with Beca's fingers that were just hanging off the side of the bed. Beca was spent and so was Chloe. The two of them made love for a good hour, which left them both very satisfied.

"Best sex ever," Beca stated.

Chloe giggled. "Yeah, it sure was."

"You don't need to lie to make me feel better."

"I'm not lying."

"Sure, sure," she teased.

Chloe lifted her head from Beca's chest and looked at her.

"I'm not lying," she repeated. "It was the best sex ever."

"Even better than your fianceé?"

Chloe paused at the mention of Chicago but she smiled softly and nodded.

"Yes," she leaned in and pecked Beca's lips before putting her head back on Beca's chest and playing with her fingers.

"So what now then?" Beca asked, gently skimming her fingers along Chloe's naked back.

Chloe paused. "I don't know."

"Doesn't he come back on Monday?"

"Yes."

"Well... I think you need to make a decision."

Chloe stopped playing with Beca's fingers and thought for a few moments.

"I really like you, Chloe, and I think we have something together," Beca began. "You're really special to me and... I can see us together. You can't deny that there's something there. I mean, just look at us over the past week and a bit. I see how you look at me and how you act around me. I know that you're scared but I can assure you that everything will be okay."

"How will it be okay though?"

"Because you'll have me. Listen, I know I said I wasn't a relationship person and I'm not but I'm willing to give this a chance - US a chance. The time that we've spent together we've pretty much acted like a couple just without the romance. Even Stacie said that we look good together and that we could pass as a couple. Looking back and thinking about it, I can see it and I can agree with her. I know this is hard for you, Chlo, but... please, just think about it. We slept together again and you can't use alcohol as your excuse this time."

Chloe sighed. She knew she had to make a choice, she just didn't want to. She loved Chicago. The man was great to her but... he was no Beca. Beca was different from anyone Chloe had ever met before and Chicago didn't know this but Chloe always had a weakness for women. She experimented a little in college but one of her biggest regrets was that she didn't do enough. Chloe never forgot how she felt the moment she met Beca. It was as if time had stopped. Chloe had never seen anyone as beautiful as Beca. Chloe always considered herself to love everyone regardless of who they were or what they looked like but secretly, Chloe had a type and Beca ticked every single box of that type. The more time she spent with Beca, the harder Chloe fell for her - it was out of Chloe's control and it was as simple as that.

Chloe tried her best to suppress her feelings but tonight was the boiling point. She just couldn't keep her emotions at bay anymore. Beca had been so sweet and caring towards the redhead that Chloe's feelings only grew. Beca was amazing and Chloe felt so happy and carefree with Beca. Sitting on the couch together watching movies like an old married couple was what Chloe wanted to feel like with Chicago but she never did. The man was always on his phone and hardly paid any attention to the film that Chloe was engrossed in. Even though Beca hated the majority of the movies Chloe made her sit through, Beca still watched them and talked about them with Chloe. Beca was right - they were already in a relationship without the romance but neither woman voiced it until now.

Even though it was obvious who was the better match for her, Chloe still didn't know what to do. She and Chicago had been through so much together and she had only met Beca the other week but it was if she and Beca had known each other for years whereas it took Chloe a long time to develop a bond with Chicago. With Beca, it was pretty much automatic. However, Chloe wasn't given much time to think through her decision since her bedroom door opened and in walked Chicago.

"Honey, I'm ho-" Chicago stopped once he saw his fiancée in bed with another woman.

"Chicago!" Chloe leapt off of Beca and covered herself with the bedsheets. "What, what are you doing here? I, I thought you wouldn't be home until Monday!"

"I'm glad that I didn't... What the Hell is going on here? Who are you?"

"I'm Beca," the brunette explained. "You must be Chloe's fianceé."

"Yeah... I'm not so sure about that anymore."

"Chicago, please," Chloe wrapped the sheet around her and slid out of bed, making her way to her fianceé.

"Please?" He frowned. "Don't tell me you're going to try and explain yourself!"

"Hey, dude, don't yell at her," Beca warned.

"Who the Hell are you to tell me not to yell at her! You slept with my finacée! You shouldn't even be here in my bed!"

"Hey, I didn't force my way here, she allowed me to be here! And I wouldn't even be here if you had done your job properly and taken care of her!"

"How dare you! You have no idea who I am and you have no idea about my relationship with Chloe!"

"Really? Because Chloe says differently. Tell him, Chloe."

"Tell me what?" Chicago frowned, looking at the redhead.

"Beca, can you just... Can you please give us a moment?"

"You're asking ME to leave? Chloe, what about us?"

"Us?" Chicago echoed. "What are you talking about? How long has this been going on for?"

"Beca, please just give us some time-"

"No, Chloe. I won't do this with you anymore. I'm not going to play this game. You need to chose now - me or him."

Chloe froze as she felt both Beca's and Chicago's eyes burning into her. Chloe wanted nothing more than to just fall through the floor but she knew the moment was only going to end one way, so without proper thought, Chloe turned to Beca and shook her head. Beca could physically feel her heart rip right down the middle and she didn't bother to fight back her tears.

"Wow," Beca uttered. "Well, it was a good run, Chloe." Beca got out of bed and got dressed as quickly and discreetly as she could. "I hope you have a happy life."

Beca slipped on her boots and pushed past the redhead, leaving her with her fianceé.

"What did I do, Chloe?" Chicago asked. "What the Hell did I do?"
