Chapter II

Thanks to Stacie, Beca was able to loosen up after a couple of beers. The women drank and talked a lot about random things, all of which made them relax and forget about their week as planned. The night grew on but it wasn't late so Beca decided to get herself and Stacie another round of drinks. Stacie parted from Beca since she had to go to the bathroom while Beca went up to the bar and ordered what she and Stacie wanted.

"Here you go - two beers," the bartender said, placing the drinks on the counter for Beca.

"Thanks, dude. Here," Beca reached into her pocket to grab out some money but her sleeve got caught in her zipper. "Ah," Beca hissed.

She loved her leather jacket but hated how the pockets had zips on them and how she always got caught on them somehow. Growing frustrated, Beca yanked her hand from her jacket pocket but she did it at such a force that she knocked into the person next to her, making them spill their drink on themselves.

"Oh, shit! I'm sorry!" Beca fretted.

"Oh, come on! This is a new top!"

"I'm sorry," Beca quickly put the money on the counter then turned to the woman and was immediately taken aback by her fiery red hair and bright blue eyes.

Chloe froze when she saw Beca and the first thing she thought was that she was pretty cute. Beca's wavy, brown hair shaped her face perfectly and her dark blue eyes were mysterious and alluring.

"No, that's... that's okay," Chloe uttered, snapping herself out of her daze. "It'll come out when I wash it."

"Sorry, my... my hand got caught in my jacket pocket. Damn zips," she chuckled.

"You still should have been more careful," Aubrey snapped behind the redhead.

"Aubrey, it's fine," Chloe said, a little embarrassed by her friend's curt tone.

"It's not fine, Chloe. She should have been more careful."

"Take it easy, alright?" Beca told her the blonde. "It was an accident. Here," Beca grabbed a bunch of napkins and began cleaning up the mess as did Chloe.

Aubrey huffed to herself, not at all impressed with Beca's sudden rudeness.

"I'm Beca by the way," she told the redhead.

"Chloe."

"Sorry about this, Chloe. I've had a bit of a rough day so I got more frustrated than usual with my zipper tonight."

"That's okay. We've all had those days."

"Yeah, maybe."

"Did you... did you want to talk about it?" She offered.

Beca looked up at the woman's eyes and she could see that she was genuine.

"Thanks but no thanks."

"Oh, come on. Share a little."

Beca laughed. "Sharing isn't my thing."

"Come on! Please!" Chloe stuck her bottom lip out and Beca couldn't resist.

"Some of the music that I gave to an agency got rejected again so I'm a bit down."

"Oh... You write music?"

"Yes."

"Wow! That's amazing!"

"Clearly not amazing enough for some people..."

"I'm sorry."

"That's fine. It's not your fault. Unfortunately, I'm not the only person trying to get into the music industry." Beca's tone was glum and Chloe could see the hurt in the woman's eyes.

"Would you like to join us?" Chloe offered and Aubrey wanted to protest but Chloe spoke before she could.

"Oh... Ah, thank you but I'm here with a friend."

"You both can join us. We can make a night of it," Chloe smiled and Beca felt like her knees were going to give out.

She had only met Chloe for about a minute but already she was attracted to the woman and for the first time in her life, she had trouble saying no.

"Ah, okay. Sure. My friend's just gone to the bathroom but I'm sure she'll be-"

"Back!" Stacie jumped in behind Beca, taking the tiny woman by surprise.

"Stacie," Beca chuckled. "This is Chloe and her friend. She's offered that we have a drink with them."

Stacie looked up and smiled at Chloe then looked over at Aubrey and she felt her heart stop. Blonde hair, green eyes, hourglass figure... Stacie was smitten.

"Hello," Stacie purred. "Stacie Conrad," she extended her hand to the blonde who took it softly.

"Aubrey Posen."

"Nice to meet you." Stacie let go of Aubrey's hand. "Let's go and find a better place to sit, shall we?"

"I think there's a booth over there," Chloe pointed over to the back of the bar.

"Excellent! Let's go!" Stacie beamed and everyone made their way to the booth.

Chloe and Aubrey sat in the middle with Beca next to Chloe and Stacie next to Aubrey.

"So, what are you two ladies doing out tonight?" Stacie asked, getting rather close to Aubrey.

"Well, we're out tonight because I got accepted to be a music teacher," Chloe answered proudly.

"Oh wow! Congrats!"

"Congratulations," Beca smiled.

"Thank you. So, we're just out having a celebratory drink. What about you two?"

"We're just out having a quiet one after a long week, aren't we, Becs?"

"It's okay, Stace, they know about what happened."

"Oh, okay. Well, in that case, we're out here to get wasted and forget about our shit week."

Chloe laughed at the woman. "Fair enough. I've been there many times."

"What about you, Aubrey?" Stacie purred, putting her arm behind the blonde and resting it on the booth. "Are you a teacher?"

Beca had to bite down on her lip to stop herself from laughing. She always found it amusing when Stacie got her flirt on.

"No, I work at a lodge," Aubrey answered blandly.

"A lodge? What do you do there?"

"It's where companies send their employees to build team-working skills."

"Interesting. Do you like it there?"

"It's nice."

"She's a workaholic," Chloe stated.

"Chloe!" Aubrey hissed.

"What? You are! You need to loosen up," she winked.

Beca wasn't the only one aware of what Stacie was doing.

"So you're a control freak?" Stacie said and Aubrey was horrified.

"Excuse me? I am NOT a control freak! I just happen to like order, that's all. There's nothing wrong with that."

Stacie bit her lip than ran her tongue across it. Aubrey was doing all sorts of things to Stacie that she just couldn't explain.

"Well, let's hope we can loosen you up as Chloe says." Stacie grabs her beer and holds it up, making everyone else do the same. "To us. May we all have a fun night."

"Yeah, to us!"

"To us!"

"To us!"

They all touch glasses and drink.
