"Nice to see that you're having fun" Damon said just as Aurora made her way in the kitchen. She was startled once she heard his voice but calmed down when she noticed it was just her dad. "I didn't expect you to be awake this early"

"I wasn't tired..." The girl walked to the counter and Luna jumped up to a stool then the counter knowing Aurora was going to feed her.

Aurora took a can of cat food and Luna's bowl about to pour it in when she caught the look Damon was giving her, causing her to smile. "I so need to get that room spelled"

"Yes you do! Not that I'm implying you will be doing that every night because I'm hoping that's the last person you sleep with from this town and the last Mikaelson" Damon replies, causing the girl to chuckle. "Ph yeah Stefan snitched on you!"

"I'm so getting him back for that..." the girl rolled her eyes finally pouring out the food then moved the bowl towards Luna to eat. "Go ahead judge all you want"

"I won't, I can just suggest you find someone better..."

"Pick the perfect and consistent person? You know how that ends...it's a burden that's why I usually got it done and killed them but..."

"Don't seem to want to do that anymore?" Damon figured, causing her to stop.

"Not a luxury I can have" she breathed out, almost breaking down. She had been doing that ever since her emotions were spiraling. She was afraid the smallest thing would make her break and her emotions poured out.

Damon never had the words to ever apologize to her about it. He knew the curse was cruel and no one deserved to live with that but it was just out of his control.

"I haven't really slept, my mind is too clouded. I feel so numb yet I feel so much it's like I'm stuck..." Aurora admitted to her father something she hadn't done in forever.

"What do you think is holding you back?" Damon asked, leaning on the counter watching how the girl petted Luna.

"I'm scared it'll happen again I'll let myself fall and I'm back where I started" the girl was almost close to tears but immediately stopped herself that's what she had been doing stopping herself from allowing her to feel.

She didn't want to pretend she didn't feel it, she did but knew she was still holding back so much emotion and if she allowed it to pour out it was going to hurt.

Damon knew eventually something was going to happen that would make her shut it off completely again. He needed to use this opportunity to try and give her that small push she needed.

"The town is putting down a memorial for all the victims...you're going" Damon demanded but not in a rude way. As soon as aurora darted her eyes up to him he noticed she didn't like the idea and he would understand why.

That would only stir feelings.

"It might be hard but I'll be there for support I promise" Damon assured and the girl nodded.

"I should get ready then" the girl cleared her throat and picked up the cat after she was done with her food.

"It's in like three hours please don't take forever to get ready" Damon warned just as she walked out the kitchen to head back into her room.

He was afraid of the girl actually attending the memorial. He knew it could break her and be the one thing she needed to push her to turn it off or the thing that made her shut it off again.

It was a dangerous guessing game but he was willing to do anything. He was starting to get a glimpse of his daughter being back and he wasn't going to give it up again.

Aurora took her time to get ready. It was like her therapy. She put so much effort into herself she had found comfort in doing so.

There was no one else in the world she could put in effort the way she did to herself. She wasted half of her day taking care and loving herself because if she did it to someone else the universe would get back at her.

The second she started to second guess about the memorial she immediately started to get ready. That's what she always did. She pretended things were something they weren't. It was better than taking everything so seriously.

If she wasn't paying attention to something else she would start to overthink how she killed all those people. Her emotions would begin to act up and that's what scared her.

"Why are you dressing up?" Rebekah caused Aurora to pause her music and turn towards her.

"I'm sorry if I woke you but I couldn't sleep and then I got told I had to attend a memorial for people I killed so..." Aurora just shrugged to apply her lipstick.

"Bold choice of an outfit for a memorial but I like it" Rebekah complimented leaning on the counter. "Thank you for yesterday. I never realized how much I needed it until now..."

"The day out or last night?" Aurora teased, causing Rebekah to chuckle. "Either way I am always down to do it again"

Rebekah took a moment to think as beautiful as Aurora was; she knew who she belonged with. "I wouldn't do it to my brother"

Aurora turned to her again not understanding what she was implying.

"After the time spent with you I could see why Elijah would care about you..."

"He doesn't..." Aurora scoffed as she moved some things on her makeup bag.

"You said you went to him to help you I'm guessing because he gave you that comfort and trust he doesn't do that to just anyone. I know my brothers really well Rory, we've been together for a long time trust me he cares" Rebekah assured watching how aurora was lost in her thoughts.

Aurora didn't know why what Rebekah said got to her. She had never felt that way in a while it wasn't a good feeling for her. To her it just brought fear.

"Would you want to come to the memorial?" Aurora changed the topic quickly before it invaded her mind.

"I think I'll pass but have a nice time..." the blonde smiled and got up to head back into the room.

Aurora was already done getting ready as soon as she put her red bottom stilettos on to match her red dress she headed downstairs where Damon was already waiting for her.

"Great, you're ready..." Damon paused as soon as he got a look of her outfit. "Rory what are you wearing?!"

"What? I wasn't the one that died! Why must we wear black? "The girl complained then noticed Bonnie and Elena sitting down. "I'll be waiting in the car"

Damon just sighed and turned around to pour him another drink and downed it quickly.

"She went back to normal?" Bonnie questioned seeing no difference in the girl.

"No she's spiraling this is her putting up an act if she acts like she doesn't care she won't but that shell isn't too thick it's on the verge of breaking and I will make sure it does but don't worry about her worry about the dead supernaturals running around the town I want them gone before one of them gets to aurora and ruins this whole thing" Damon ordered as he fixed his shirt.

"And I will but you sure can ask nicely" Bonnie glared at him and he just rolled his eyes.

"I'll do it when I see you actually do it" he sassed then turned around to head out. Bonnie just sighed giving up then turned to Elena who just shrugged.

They knew Damon was on edge he always was but now more than ever they knew his window of opportunity was closing and he really didn't want to fail.

During the memorial Damon paid close attention to aurora he wanted to make sure if she did break that he would get her out of there immediately he knew it would be for the best for everyone but aurora held on strong the whole time.

Damon knew the girl had trained herself too well; she knew what she was in for. He knew the girl would feel guilt and any person that was close to turning it on would've broken but Aurora knew how to control it too well that was the perk of having it off for such a long time.

Being so close to turning it on but learned how to push back no matter how bad the emotions were trying to fight their way out.

Damon was still not going to give up. He was going to wait until they got home to talk to the girl and help her but he wasn't going to give up until the girl turned it on. He just hoped that something would coke up to his head that would make it easier.

The whole ride home he was just trying to come up with something but was disappointed when he was walking back up to the house and he still had nothing not knowing that as soon as he opened the door he was going to be met with his solution.

Damon allowed aurora to get in the house first then he followed behind her but paused as soon as Aurora paused as well as she saw a figure of a person standing in the living room the lady was facing the other way they weren't able to identify her right away.

Damon's first instinct was to pull aurora back fearing that it could be someone she killed long ago but then when he realized who it was his heart dropped. He could recognize that figure anywhere there wasn't a chance that he could forget it.

The figure of the woman he once loved so much.

"Ada..." Damon breathed out watching as the woman turned around meeting again with her beautiful eyes he hadn't seen in so long.

"Mommy?" Aurora's eyes glistened, not believing her mother was right in front of her she had to be dreaming but then she remembered how Damon told her that the wall to the other side was down.

But never did she imagine that she was going to run into anyone let alone her mother.

"Come here ladybug" Ada extended her arms out waiting for the girl to walk to her and Aurora did, she really did but she thought that as soon as she did she would break. Ada saw her daughter still in a state of shock and put her arms down.

"Rory..."

"It's ok," Ada assured knowing Damon was going to say something to the girl. "I just wanted to catch up on everything you don't get an opportunity like this..."

"No...you don't" Damon walked closer still looking at the woman with such admiration just like he always had. He never realized how much he missed her presence; it just filled his body with joy.

"Is it okay if we go up to your room and talk?" The woman turned to Aurora who just nodded and gestured to follow her.

Ada gave Damon a glance then went to follow behind Aurora that led them all the way to her room. Rebekah was gone and Aurora figured she had decided to go out.

She still couldn't believe what was happening. She didn't feel like she had done a good job to keep it that way; she just sat down on her bed where Luna immediately jumped up to snuggle up next to her.

Her mother sat down as well watching how aurora assured the cat was comfortable making her smile.

"Cats were always my favorite. What is she like?" Ada began to make conversation with the girl.

"She's mean to people she doesn't like, she doesn't really allow people to touch her either, only me" aurora told her as she petted the cat then looked up.

"I'm glad she found her way to you" Ada said then noticed how aurora's eyes drifted off. "Speak your mind mama"

Aurora looked up to her again. She missed the nicknames it had so long ago but they were still engraved in her brain. Every Time she heard them it made her flinch like if it was a shock wave that would cause her to break down.

"You're probably so disappointed in me watching me all these years just ruining my life" Aurora said this time not looking away to see her reaction.

"I'm not, I'm actually so proud of you...my sweet brave girl. I couldn't be prouder of how strong you are." She replied, watching how she almost made Aurora smile. "I knew what I was getting myself into with your dad. I knew what would happen but I believed I wasn't going to be defeated so I did it anyways because there was no one in the world that was going to keep me from being happy and I thought the same when I had you. I promised myself that there was no way I was going to let my little girl live with it. I said the cycle ends with us..."

"Of course the plan didn't turn out too well..." Ada shrugged then cleared her throat. "I'm sorry I gave up so quickly. I wanted to stick around and allow you to live the life you deserved"

"It's not your fault..." Aurora's voice almost broke.

"If it was, I would've fixed it in a second. I hated watching what you went through but I couldn't help but admire your strength. I ended it all before it got too far but you kept fighting..." Ada took a moment to look at the girl before she continued. "I would be lying if I said that some days it didn't get hard. I wanted it to end so you could be with me and when the moment came your dad swept right in"

"Sometimes I think if it would've been easier if he never fed me the blood I would've been freed" aurora blurted out.

"Maybe but if there was anyone in the world that was going to persevere from that it was you. I understand your fear and why you abandoned your emotions that was your way out and I do not blame you because I did it to I taped out...but Rory this is not how you're supposed to live"

Aurora finally broke, letting her tears fall. "It's the only way I know how"

"I know and I know you think this was a burden to be given an eternity of misery but that's only if you allow it you could look at it as another opportunity to get back what they took from you baby. I know that you will be able to do what I wasn't" Ada proposed to aurora but she nodded immediately. "Yes you can you got so much fight in you Rory you don't even know..."

"I don't think I will be able to do that again...I can't"

"You won't do it again because you will end it I wanted to but I didn't have the resources to you do so go make the best from what you got because I know you my sweet girl will be able to do it if you allow the people around you to help you"

"I wish you could stay to help me..." the girl let out a sob and Ada extended her arms for the girl to go into and this time she did.

Once she felt Ada's tight hold on her she broke down even more. Ada knew the girl was close; she just needed to be there to make sure she was going to be okay but she wasn't sure she was going to have time.

"I do too baby but I will still watch you every time it gets hard remember I'm watching you and cheering you on. Stop robbing the world of your compassionate heart. I know it makes it even harder to live with this when you're a person with such a big heart but that's the only way you'll win this" Ada soothed still holding onto the girl tightly.

"I think..." Aurora paused at the unfamiliar feeling.

"Let it out, it's okay..." Ada already knew it was going to hurt. All those feelings bottled up for all those years were finally breaking loose. "I know it hurts but I'm right here you can do it"

Aurora finally let out a painful sob, making Ada shut her eyes, not baring her daughter's pain. She hated she had to go through this but knew it was for the better.

"You're okay...you're okay Rory" Ada tried to comfort her. She waited for a while when the girl was more calm then she pulled away knowing she didn't have long.

"I want you to know that I am so proud of you. You have grown into such an amazing woman and..." Ada pulled away so the girl could face her. "I know your dad makes mistakes sometimes but he adores you so don't push him away. Be a family because you all are all you guys have please do that for me and make good on what I told you don't give up Rory"

"I won't..." Aurora promised and was bright into her hold again.

"I have to go but...I will keep watching okay be strong. I love you my lady bug." Ada said only making aurora hold her tighter.

"I don't want to see you leave, just let me fall asleep please..." Aurora begged still in her arms.

Ada just allowed the girl to lay on her and began to mutter some words causing Aurora little by little to fall asleep. Once Ada made sure she was asleep she laid the girl down on her bed and took off her shoes to put a blanket over her.

Before she walked out she left a soft kiss on the girls forehead and gave a pat to Luna then headed out her room.

Downstairs sat Damon who heard as Ada headed downstairs. He didn't listen to their conversation even if he wanted to; he wanted them to have that moment.

When he saw Ada he only gave her a questioning look wanting to know how the girl was.

"She's asleep and back...please be there when she wakes up" Ada asked him and he nodded. She still stood away from him and he just patted the space next to him on the couch.

The witch just glared at the man debating if she did get close. "I give you props Damon I do for all this time but sometimes it was disappointing to watch what you did"

"I'm not proud of it" he sighed and looked away from her feeling guilty. Ada began to walk towards him and finally sat down.

"You have a right to find another love I accept that but don't go down that route again mi amor..." she brought her hand up to fix his hair and he shut his eyes at the nickname. "You did do a good job with aurora you know I know it was hard but look at the strong woman you made"

"She's a handful..." Damon scoffed, shaking his head. "Just like her mother but..." Damon turned his body towards her, placing his hand on her face moving her hair away. "I love you two so much"

"I love you too and so does she. Please don't give this up again Damon please..."

"I won't," Damon said, holding her close. "I won't I promise you I won't"

"I'm trying to hold it together but I hate the fact I have to go" Ada finally broke leaning into Damon's hold.

"Me too" he breathed out and finally took her lips in his. He missed kissing her. There hadn't been anyone in the world that he loved more than her and it pained him that they didn't get to raise aurora together and have a life together.

He would do anything to let her stay. Ada eventually pulled back and laid on his chest while they talked. He missed those nights where all they would do was talk.

Eventually they were interrupted when the door opened, making Ada look over to the door to see a face she hated but knew it wasn't the same person.

"I'm sorry I just..." Elena paused not knowing who the woman was.

"Elena this is Ada my uh..."

"Dead wife?" Ada answered for him knowing he wasn't sure what to call her. "Auroras mom"

"Oh..." Elena was shocked. "I'm so sorry I interrupted but I just got off the phone with Bonnie she says it takes her thirty minutes to finish the spell and Stefan I think we got him Lexi helped a lot"

"He's running around wild isn't he? Might have to go pay him a visit" she sighed getting up from the couch. "I should leave before it I won't want to...I'm not saying goodbye I hate goodbyes"

"I know" Damon got up as well.

"Nice meeting you Elena and..." Ada turned to Damon. "Take care of Rory please"

Damon just smiled and watched as the girl walked away to the door. When it shut his heart shattered as much as he wanted to chase after her but knew it was useless she was still going to be gone once Bonnie finished the spell.

"She's beautiful...how's Rory?" Elena asked.

"She's back I'm going to go check on her and...yes she's beautiful" Damon sat his cup down and walked away.

This was a wake up call for Damon he was going to make good on his promise to Ada. He wasn't going to give up this opportunity he got.

From now on he was putting aurora first and was going to help her get through.
