Chapter 37

The guide drops his phone on the floor, but doesn't care. He slowly looks at Maverick, his moustache twitching in excitement.

"Oh no..." I slowly mutter underneath my breath.

"God, save us all..." Mychael shortly says after.

"I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU, I HAVE A DISCOUNT AT THIS WEDDING STORE AND-"

"Everybody, here are your room keys." Paige politely says, handing them all out. The journey from Gold-coast to Perth was a long and treacherous one, with Paris annoying all of us into oblivion.

Louise was a surprisingly calm addition to our team. She was calm and quiet, rarely talking to any of us except for Maverick. She'd normally scowl at Danielle, Paris and Jacob, but to everybody else she was relatively nice enough.

"Eva," Trinity grins - showing me her room key. "We're in the same room together, along with Lauren!"

"Seriously?" I grinned back, checking our hotel numbers. "Ahh, thank god, I don't know what I'd do if I was in the same room as Paris and Danielle again."

"Don't pretend you didn't enjoy it!" Danielle calls out from the other side of the hotel lobby, flashing me with her signature smirk.

Trinity and I both ignore her, hauling our luggage up to the surprisingly nice hotel room. Lauren makes her way up later, and we spend the entire day just catching up with each other - and complaining about Paris.

"I heard that they have an Italian restaurant downstairs," Lauren suggests. "Should we order some room service?"

"That sounds great," Trinity agrees. She looks over at the phone in our room, which is somehow not there. "One of us will have to go down and order the food though, we don't have a phone."

"How does that even happen?" I asked in disbelief, "do you think house-keeping stole it or something?"

"Probably," Lauren sighed.

"Who wants to go down and order food?" Trinity asked, looking expectantly at the both of us. I groan, getting off the comfortable position I was in bed and start rummaging around for my sandals.

"I'll order," I volunteered. Finally, after messing up my entire suitcase, I found my black sandals - and slipped them onto my shoes relatively easily.

Trinity and Lauren mutter their thanks to me as I pull open the door to our hotel room, and descend slowly to order. I look over at the left side, at Lil Huddy and Noen who are both sitting in the lobby, with drinks as the two of them talk alone. Jacob is playing in the pool, while Danielle and her minions lounge around on their seats and tan. Paris is absolutely nowhere to be seen, and the guide is enjoying a beer at the bar.

"Oh hey Eva," Mychael waves over. He was standing by the restaurant, as if he was in line to order something.

"Hey Mychael," I say back. "What are you doing?"

"Oh, Cash and Maverick wanted some food to eat and forced me to leave. For some reason our hotel room doesn't have a phone."

"Our's is the exact same," I said. How many times was housekeeping going to steal the phones?"

"Really, well that's quite strange..." He laughed, we in turn made me laugh. "I feel like we haven't really gotten the best chance to catch up."

"Me neither. I forgot how hectic we were five years ago, I really thought that it'd be calming for some reason."

"Remember the guide's buggy?"

"Barbara, that was the name, right?"

"Yeah, and then we accidentally crashed it at the top of a cliff."

"Well actually, you crashed it."

He chuckles. The waitress brings forward his order of fresh food, and hands it to him.

Just as he is about to turn away, and go back to his room. He looks at me, smiling.

"I only crashed the buggy, so that I could spend more time with you."
