chapter 45, graduation

THE DUCKS WERE now in their senior year, graduation was coming up. Adam and Cassidy was going strong, 3 years together. They got into arguments here and there but they got back up, realizing their mistakes and they forgave each other every time.

The Ducks still played hockey of course but some were growing out of it. It saddens Cassidy to see some Ducks go, but it was all apart of growing up.

The door to her room opened, Cassidy looked up from her notebook to see Adam Banks standing there with a smile on his face. He walked over, laying sitting down next to her and placed his chin on her shoulder.

"What are you writing?" Adam asked her but Cassidy pulled her notebook away from his sight.

"My graduation speech. You can't read it so you'll have to wait until graduation day!" Cassidy teased him, closing the book and placing it on her side table.

Adam pouted when she looks at him. "Come on, I want to hear it now!" He whined, trying to reach for the book but Cassidy pushes his arm away.

"No! Graduation is in 4 days, you can wait until then." She said before shoving her notebook somewhere under all her underwear so Adam wouldn't go through it.

When she turned around, she bumps into his chest. Cassidy looked up at him, a brow raised when she stares into his blue eyes. Adam simply smiled before dipping his head down and kissing her passionately.

Cassidy smiles into the kiss, a hand on his cheek and on at the back of his neck. They continued to make out as they traced backwards and Cassidy's back hit her wall.

Their moment was ruined when there was a knock on the door. Cassidy and Adam pull away, the blond following the brunette to her bedroom door.

She opens it to see her twin brother, Charlie Conway standing in front of her. He smiles at them, trying to hold in a laugh at their current state. They didn't check to see if they were ok.

"May I help you?" Cassidy questioned her brother, already annoyed that he so happen to ruin another one of their moments. Charlie snickers.

"Dinner is ready." He simply said making Cassidy narrow her eyes at him. She shut her door, rolling her eyes. "Also, might want to brush your hair Cass. Oh, and Adam, you have smeared pink lipstick on her mouth!"

Charlie's voice rang from the other side of the door. Cassidy's eyes widen, running to her mirror to see her whole hair messed up. Adam simply wiped the smudged lipstick on his mouth.

TODAY WAS THE day everyone was excited yet dreading for. It was graduation day for the Ducks. Their moods mixed with happiness and sadness knowing that they'll part their own ways.

Goldberg decided that he wanted to bake. He loved pastries and so he decided to open up his own CafΓ© after graduation day.

Dwayne was going back to his home in Austin. He wanted to teach others hoe to horse ride and own a farm of his own.

Julie was going back to Maine, missing her parents and she wad going to take the year off to focus on herself and her family.

Connie was going to school for fashion. The girl loved to design clothes. It was all she ever did other than hockey.

Guy decided that he wanted to be a director. So, he's going to school to learn the basics of making a movie.

Luis is going back to Miami Florida, going to see his family. He wasn't quite sure what he wanted to do but when he does, he'll get straight to it.

Fulton, he fell out of love for the ice sport. It was crazy because he was a great player. So for now, he was trying to figure out his other interests.

Portman still loved playing hockey. But other than that, he taught little kids at dojo's how to protect yourself.

Ken Wu was going back to figure skating, he wanted to keep his title and go back to the olympics.

Les Averman wants to be a comedian. That's all he was ever good at. Sure, he was good at better things but he always made jokes to keep smiles.

Maya Collins decided she wanted to be an actress, going to acting school, getting into drama clubs.

Dakota Collins, she didn't know what she wanted to do either. So she was going to go home and figure it out.

Charlie Conway wanted to continue his hockey career but as a coach. He took such inspiration by Gordon.

Adam Banks also wanted to continue Hockey because he loved it. He never would think he would ever slip away from the sport.

As for Cassidy Conway? She also wanted to continue her hockey career. But knowing she wouldn't do much, she decides to go back to figure skating.

And so then, she was called up to the stage. Cassidy Conway was the last to walk on the stage. She held a piece of paper in her hands and placed it on the small platform she stood on. She wore her gown and hat.

"The day has come to turn our tassels. We have gotten over our tears and our hassles. From surviving finals to surviving rivals.Β  We have grown the past few four yearsΒ  and conquered our high school fears. As the phase of new has surprisingly sprung. And our adult future has finally begun. The man we call time has passed us by. And now we must grow time by time. To transform into flowers to spread our knowledge. And make a home out of what we call college."

Cassidy didn't look up from her paper. Not once after reading that whole thing. Bur she was not done yet. She glances up, tears brimming her eyes and she smiled slightly at the Ducks smiling at her.

Of course, Connie was crying already.

"We will part our ways and say farewell. To the people who taught us how to think and how to spell. As we walk down the field in our caps and gowns. There will be no despair and there will he no frowns. We have made our families and friends patiently proud. As they sit and watch among the clamorous crowd. Clapping for all but cheering for one. Our years of high school is finally done. No matter where we end up, we started the same. And our legacy will live on with our names. Our dreams and goals will lead the way. And it all starts here on our graduation day!"

Everyone started cheering loudly, some were crying, some were screaming. But they all knew that they were proud of themselves, even if they didn't want to believe it.

Cassidy smiled and let the tears fall from her eyes. She looked around the crowd, blue meeting blue and she lets out a breath that she didn't know she was holding.

She was looking at him and he was looking back at her. And in those seconds of their eyes meeting, they both knew it wasn't the end for them. Even if they were going to different colleges, does not mean this was the end of Adam and Cassidy.

They will take the risk and stay together. Even if it was too much and they end up parting ways, they would find each other all over again. But they hope they don't part ways.

And so then, Adam ran up the stairs of the stage. Cassidy turned around to face him as his arms slipped around her waist. He pulled her close to him, dipping down and pressing his lips on hers.

Fireworks erupt. Sparks. Butterflies. Love.

It was all they ever felt for each other. So the next years of their life, it's just going to be filled with love. And they both know that.
