I was going to kill Edward Cullen, then as a dramatic touch frame Bella for his murder. Honestly, the image of Chief Swan having to arrest his own daughter lives rent free in my brain now. It keeps me from actually doing anything drastic. Em says that Edward left and went to Denali right after school. Apparently, Bella's blood was too much for him and he wasn't in control of his blood lust. Not that he told me anything because he won't ANSWER HIS DAMN PHONE.

Not only was the Adam situation still stressing me out, this whole Bella thing was going to make me go gray faster. Bella didn't make it any easier. It was the third day that Edward was absent from school that I started to notice her behavior. Staring around the parking lot when the Cullen's arrived for school and being disappointed when Edward didn't show or stalking us at lunch. It was starting to feel like my first day at Forks High all over again.

It was finally the end of the school day and I couldn't wait to go home to lay in my bed. Walking out of the classroom I made my way throughout the crowds filling the hallway. Not having Edward in school made walking to the parking lot a dull experience. I almost made it outside when I was grabbed from behind. Almost giving myself whiplash at how fast I turned my head. I was met with the nervous face of Bella Swan.

"Umm Henley, right?" She asked.

"Yea, that's me. Did you need something?" I wondered.

"I-i just wanted to make sure Edward was okay. He hasn't been at school." She spoke with a unsure look on her face.

My brow was arched in confusion. I barely know this girl and she only met Eddie one time. What gives her the idea she's close enough to know that information. Like I get you think he was a dick for no reason, but honey you have no idea how lucky you are to be alive.

"Personal issues." was the only response I gave her.

"Henley." a soft, raspy voice called for me.

Turning away from Bella I looked behind me at Rose and Wyatt standing a feet away from us. That's interesting. They never sought me out on their own free will.

"What's up?" I asked Wyatt not sure if Rose would give me a answer.

"Emmett's waiting for us." Rose spoke to my shock.

I'm surprised it was them two to come find me at all. Let alone Rose acknowledging my presence.  Usually if any of the other siblings talk to me it would be Alice and Jasper. I know Wyatt stayed away for Rose's sake not wanting her to be upset.

"Okay, be right there." I said before turning back to face Bella.

"Well as much fun as this chat has been I have to go. Have a nice day." I told her in a sickly sweet tone.

Not waiting for a reply I caught up with Rose and Wyatt.

"Well, the Angel has horns on her." Wyatt teased once I was in step with them.

"Oh, shut up. I'm just worried about Edward and how she is going to affect him." I defended myself.

"She could be trouble." Rose agreed.

"Thank you, Rose. At least someone understands my hesitance to confide in her. You guys were pretty tight lipped when I came into the picture. With good reason. It's the same thing except Eddie reacted worse." I told them.

"Your blood didn't affect Emmett as bad as Bella's blood does to Edward." Wyatt admitted.

Befriending Bella wasn't in the cards for me at this point. Not until I know Eddie will be okay.

It was a rare night when Emmett wasn't sneaking into my bedroom to spend time with me after he was suppose to "go home".  Wyatt, Jasper and Emmett were having a boy's night. Video games, sports, and anything that they could make into a competition. I was unfortunately typing up a english essay that was due later on in the week, which I dreaded.  The paper was coming together nicely when I heard a thud behind me.

I spun around so fast I got dizzy. Once my eyesight returned to normal I noticed Edward standing in the middle of my room.

"You're an ass Edward Cullen." I whisper shouted not wanted to draw my families attention.

"Hello to you, too." Eddie spoke sarcastically.

"Oh no. You don't get to do that. I was worried sick. You leave with no goodbye then show up here out of the blue, so laid back like nothing's wrong." I lectured him slapping him on the arm to emphasize my point.

"Sorry mom." He teased.

"It's not funny. I was scared you did something stupid." I  whispered, embarrassed by my outburst.

"I was close to killing her." He admitted.

"What happened?" I asked confused why he reacted that way to Bella.

"She's my la tua cantante." He replied.

"I have no idea what that means." I said with my brow arched.

"It's a term used to describe when a human's blood is so potent it sings for them. Her blood tempts me more than anyone's has before." He explained taking a seat on my bed.

"So does this mean you can't be around her?" I asked wanted to know what would happen.

"It means I have to be extra careful around her. Make sure I feed often." He told me

"Well good luck with that. She seems eager to confront you about you being a jerk her first day. Her staring is starting to get annoy." I informed him of her behavior wanting him to be prepared.

"Rose told me you weren't very nice either." He teased.

"I'll be nice when I know you're okay. As far as I'm concerned she is causing you pain and I don't like it. " I admitted not liking that he would be struggling.

"She's not doing it on purpose Henley. It's not her fault her blood sings to me." Eddie lectured me.

"Eddie you can lecture me all you want. I'm loyal to those I care about and until I get to know her better I'm keeping my distance." I said hoping he would drop it for now.

"Seems like you and Rose have something in common now."  He muttered.

"Oh, bite me." I growled.

"Really." He deadpanned giving me a harsh glare.

"That was an accident." I whined.

Neither one of us could get another word in when my phone's ringtone blasted through the room.  Not even checking who it was a pressed answer thinking it might of been Emmett.

"Hey"

Nothing came through the phone but deep pants

"Is someone there?" I asked not sure if this was a joke.

Once again no answer came through the phone. I was about to hang up when the line went dead.

"Hmm, that was odd." I voiced out loud.

Shaking off the weird feeling that came over me I focused my attention back on Edward.

"Help me finish my english essay?" I asked wanting it to be done early for once.

"I'm not writing it for you." Eddie said grabbing my laptop.

"Hey, I'm half-way done, thank you very much. I just need you to make sure I'm on the right track." I responded feeling highly offended that he would think I wanted him to write it for me.

The rest of the night was spent with me slowly finishing my paper. Not realising what time it was my phone digging startled me out of my zone.

"𝘓𝘦𝘦, 𝘐'𝘮 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘦."

Three little words that brought hope and dread through my body all at once.

"Oh my god. Eddie, it was Adam." I whispered realising who called earlier.

Adam didn't know what day it was or where in the country he was at. Nothing else mattered besides the blood. It was what he was living for now. When he first met Laurent, James and Victoria he wasn't a fan of what they did, but each day got easier to get lost. That didn't mean he trusted his companions. Laurent thought he was in charge, but it was really James running the show. Victoria was James' mate and went along with whatever he said. In his mind it was either join their group or die, so he did what he had to do.

The only thing keeping connected to his humanity was the thought of his best friend Henley. Knowing that she once again will be worried that he wouldn't make it out alive. His three companions could tell something was off when he fed. He looked almost remorseful after he killed them. One night he couldn't get her out of his head and he needed to hear her voice, so he called her. Getting away from Laurent, James and Victoria was tricky, but he was determined. With Henley's number burned into his memory he swept his last victim's phone to make the phone call.

Once he found a place where he had service he dialled her number. It rang only twice before Henley's voice came through.

"Hey" Her voice sounded cheerful.

Adam just stood in shock. Just surprised she answered an unknown number and just hearing her voice in general.

"Is someone there?" Henley asked.

Hearing footsteps in the distance Adam quickly hung up the phone not wanting to be caught by anyone especially James. Adam quickly sent out a quick text. Once he knew that it was sent, he crushed the phone to dust in his hands.

"There you are." Victoria's sickly sweet voice broke through the air.

"Did you need something?" Adam asked trying not to sound defensive.

"We were worried you ran out on us." James' spoke next jumping down from the trees.

Adam had to think before he spoke not wanting to say the wrong thing.

"Where would I go?" He responded.

"Got any family?" James' wondered not sure if he should be worried about his new companion.

"Don't remember much before waking up like this." Adam quickly lied.

It was like James knew something was wrong with the younger vampire. He decided that he would keep a closer eye on Adam not sure if he could trust the boy. The subject was then dropped and the four vampire were on the move again.

What Adam didn't realize was that they were slowly making their way closer to Forks each day. Each day was bringing these vampires closer to something they all were not expecting.
