The Team Grows

I just stared as Annabeth talked to her friend, Percy.  I had no idea who Iris was or how Annabeth had communicated with Percy, I assumed she was a magician. Maybe from the House of Life?

"Are you a magician?" I asked flat-out. I wasn't one for dancing around a topic.

"What? No!" she exclaimed, turning around to face me.

"Then how did you do that?" I asked, angrily.

"I'm a demigod, daughter of Athena," she stated, flicking her ponytail back.

"Like Athena, the Greek goddess?" I asked confused. "Aren't they just myths?"

"Oh, that's what everyone thinks. But, they're all wrong. The gods are real and they still have affairs with mortals. Percy is a demigod too. He's the son of Posiden. Also, my cousin, Magnus is the son of Frey. He knows where the serpent is. After meeting up with Percy, I'm gonna go down to Boston and meet up with him. Would you want to come with?" she inquired, slightly cocking her head.

"Oh, sure," I answered, a bit surprised. "Is Frey another Greek god?"

"No, Frey is a Norse god," she answered with a shrug as we headed to the Statue of Liberty.

"So the Norse gods are real TOO?!" I shrieked, stopping in my spot.

"Yeah," she sighed, turning back to me. "What was that boomerang you used with Mrs. O'Leary?"

"Oh, I'm a magician apparently and it's a kind of wand," I answered. "I don't know much, but my parents were also magicians."

"Oh, wow," she answered. We got on a ferry and rode it to the island where the Statue of Liberty was. When we got there we were greeted by a tallish black-haired guy with sea green eyes. He hugged Annabeth and held out his hand to shake.

"Hi, I'm Percy Jackson. It's a pleasure to meet you," he smiled, shaking my hand. I noticed that he smelled faintly of the sea. "So now we're gonna go meet Magnus, yeah?" he asked, turning back to Annabeth.

"Yeah, do you think you could speed us along if we took a boat? I don't want to be gone very long," she explained.

"Yeah, sure thing," he agreed. We then headed back across the bay and found a small row boat renting shop. We got a row boat and hopped in. Soon we were zipping along the coast without anyone rowing! Annabeth explained that this was a part of Percy's powers. Soon we reached Boston and headed toward a little coffee shop. There, I saw another tallish kid but this time with scraggly blond hair and gray eyes like Annabeth. But, while Annabeth's eyes where alive and stormy, his had a scary emptiness to them.

He  also hugged Annabeth. They had a minute of discussion and then they both took off towards a harbor.
