"So, what's the plan for tonight? Another night of smoking and drinking?" Jungkook asked.

We were lying on his bed, smoking a joint, which was what our routine mostly consisted of at the moment. "Sure," I shrugged.

We threw on the nearest clothes we could find and headed to a nearby beach where a party was being thrown.

"Do you think we're partying too much?" I questioned Jungkook. I couldn't even count the number of random places we'd been to over the past few weeks.

"Jisoo, there's no such thing," he winked as we started to hear the music. We smiled as we walked onto the already crowded beach.

Lisa immediately ran over with a shot glass and a joint and handed both to me. I downed the shot and started taking puffs of the joint.

"I didn't know you'd be here," I smiled at her.

"Well, I knew you would be. Have you and Jungkook done anything else except get fucked this summer?" she laughed.

I shook my head. "Not much else."

"Come on," she ushered me over to the center of the loud music. "Let's dance."

I took multiple more shots and smoked multiple joints, and I felt like we danced for hours. I flailed around with Lisa a lot before going and intimately dancing with Jungkook. And after a while, my drunk and high and happy trance was interrupted as Jungkook and I danced with each other. There was a sizzling sound, a loud bang, and a piercing scream.

Jungkook and I spun around and immediately saw someone holding a firework that had been set off on the enclosed beach.

"What the fuck, man?" Jungkook yelled at the guy who looked completely unbothered.

I ran over to the person who was crouched on the floor, clutching their leg in pain where their denim jeans had been burned off.

"Are you okay?" I rushed in a frantic voice.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine," the petite girl winced.

"Are you sure? It was -"

She cut me off as she stumbled to her feet. "Listen, girl, I'm fine. But we have to run." She pointed at the police heading onto the beach with their shining torches.

Suddenly, everyone started running. The injured girl limped but with help from others, managed to keep up with everyone.

I found Jungkook in the crowd, and he grabbed my hand and helped me clamber up between some spiky bushes that made small and stinging cuts on my legs.

"Ouch," I yelped as he pulled me through.

"You're fine. Just come on," he insisted, pulling me harder to keep up with everyone.

We all ran down the streets that were lit with streetlights. "Fucking hell, Jungkook. Can't we just go home? It wasn't our fault," I panted as we continued to run.

"No. I'm not having an encounter with the police. It's fine, it's fun, just run," he panted as well, still dragging me by my wrist.

After a couple of minutes of the whole group of us running with the police car trailing behind, I watched a scrawny boy a few feet ahead pick up a jagged rock and lob it through the police car window. It shattered, the glass sprinkled on the floor, and the officer clutched his cheek.

"What the fuck?" I shouted.

"Shut up, Jisoo. Just keep going," Jungkook ordered, dragging me along once again.

We ran for a few more minutes until we stopped in a hedged area. It was concluded that we'd lost the police who had been tailing us.

Everyone stopped and gasped for air after running.

The scrawny boy who had thrown the rock spoke first. "That was fun. Now let's go and get some cocaine." Jungkook looked at me. "Shall we continue the party?" I scoffed. "Jungkook, no. Are you serious? What the fuck? I don't want to be involved with this shit." I ranted. Jungkook noticed my frantic face and nodded. "Okay, let's go back to my place."

We walked in silence for the majority of the way until Jungkook broke the silence.

"What's your problem, Jisoo?"

"My problem? Smashing police windows? Being in gangs that are going to find cocaine? You're considering it? I'm not a part of that, Jungkook."

Jungkook furrowed his brow. "You've always put yourself in dangerous situations, Jisoo."

"Well, I don't want to anymore." I snapped.

Jungkook was quiet once we had reached his bedroom. He sat down on his bed and stared at the wall. "What's wrong with you?" I questioned.

He took a deep breath before answering. "I'm just realizing how much of a better person you are than me. I'm worth nothing compared to you. I'm not good enough for you." He sighed.

"Jungkook, that's not true at all." I insisted, but he only gave a half-hearted and unconvincing smile.

"Jisoo, it's true. It is true. I'm not shit compared to you. I don't deserve you." I sighed. "You've just had too much to drink. Come on, let's just go to bed. You'll be fine tomorrow."
