14 - Letter

-Third person POV-
Inko laid awake on her bed, feeling the utmost happiness. The past three days had been a blessing. She was thrilled that her daughter wasn't feeling down anymore.

Yosh! She sat up on her bed as she stretched her short arms to the ceiling. Let's go make another great breakfast for Izuku!

It was just 6:30, and Izuku must still be outside training... or either sleeping in.
She quickly made her bed and dressed into some modest clothing before heading down to cook.

However, once she got to the kitchen she saw a white envelope sitting on the black counter. And sitting atop was... her daughter's house keys...

Inko opened up the letter. Her eyes fell upon the words. Each and every character embedded into her mind and swelled her eyes with tears. Soon the water broke free, and traced down her cheeks.

Dear mum,
I love you. But, lately I realised that a hero career isn't something suited for me. I know you always wanted to support me and now that's all going down the drain. But, mum you taught me something important. Always hold onto the things important to you and your values.

I hope this letter can serve just that purpose :D

I'm going to go out and explore the world a bit. You don't need to worry about me. I found a job, but sorry I can't tell you where and what I'm doing. But I can tell you it is very appropriate.

I will pray for your safety from afar and please don't worry about me.

Love you,
From your loving daughter,
Izuku Midoriya

"Izuku..." She held the letter close to her chest. Tugging and pulling it as if it emitted warmth whenever it was close to her. The rough edge dig into her skin. She could feel jagged pain, but they weren't as heavy. Somehow she knew her daughter would be just alright. Living somewhere in the world.

Inko collected the keys on the table along with the note and went to her room. She opened the drawers in her table and stashed the note inside, besides the other letters and objects that contained the memory of her husband.

After a moment of silence, she went down to the kitchen to make herself breakfast. She kept thinking about the smiley face Izuku drew. It was quite charming and reassured her that her daughter was doing fine.

Inko didn't bother her daughter with a phone call. She knew there must be a reason why she did this. For her daughter was the type to tell her mum everything and deal with problems face on. So this must be a move on in her plan, to go find more experience or something. Either way, Inko believed in her daughter.

"Be safe Izuku..." She prayed in the cold kitchen as silent tears dropped down her face.
