Narita x Reader

I stood in the bleachers watching our school volleyball team play against another schools team. Even though I was meant to be watching the participating players my attention was rather focused on the bench next to the field where the rest of the team sat. My eyes kept on looking over their even when I tried to pay attention to the game. I just couldn't help it. After all my long time crush sat there. I had a thing for him ever since I saw him in middle school. But back then I was to much of a chicken to talk to him. When I found out he was going to the same high school as I was I considered myself one really lucky girl and I promised myself to get to know him at least. That was my goal, for almost two years now, and I still hadn't done much more than say a quick hello once in a while when I met him in the corridors. I'm pretty sure he doesn't even know who I am. I'm just one girl in a school full of girls, that just so happened to go to the same middle school as he did. Maybe he didn't even recognize me from back then. I sometimes see him together with his same year teammates. Two of them are known to worship their team manager. Come to think of it. She really is beautiful. And their new first year manager really is adorable. With two such girls around him everyday he probably doesn't even notice me anymore. I was so caught up in my own thoughts that I almost missed how Karasuno scored a point. I was just in time to cheer with the rest of the fans. The game got intense towards the end but Karasuno won after all. I was happy for our team and our school. My friends and I decided to watch the next teams aswell. Now I didn't had to pay attention at all and could get lost in my mind as much as I pleased. And of course my favourite topic of all time was Narita. A part of me tried to reason with myself that I still had little over a year left to get to know him, while another part of me told me to just give up and live my life. 'Could you get us something to drink?'one of my friends suddenly spoke up to me. I blinked sheepishly at her. 'You don't pay attention to the game, so might as well go get us something to drink or?'she smiled while holding out her money. I nodded and asked what she wanted. Then I left the hall looking for a vending machine. I soon found one. Putting the money in I pressed the button for my friends drink. It took quiet some time until the drink was out. I then realized I was a bit thirsty too. So I put my own money in and pushed another button. 'It takes some time...'someone next to me said. My head snapped around and I was speechless to see it was Narita. He smiled at me. Oh my lord. Right I had to say something. 'Yeah it really does.'I agreed. I than grabbed the other bottle and took a step back for him to use the machine. What should I say? I imagined moments like this so many times but yet I never thought I really get a chance to talk to him. He pushed a button for his drink. I couldn't. I couldn't bring up enough courage to talk to him. Without another word I turned around to go back to my friends. I had only made five steps or so when Narita called out. 'Excuse me.'I thought I may had left some change and turned my head to look at him. 'I'm sorry to be so bold but...would you like to go on a date sometime?'the question took me off guard. Did he just ask me out? Did he really? 'I know we never really talked much to each other, but I've seen you at school and at our games and I actually made a promise with myself that I would ask you out when we're in high school. I made it back in middle school, but couldn't bring myself to ask you. So I promised again that, if we win todays game I would try it and....yeah...'he rambled on scratching his cheek. 'Yes.'I said breathless. Narita blinked. 'I would love to go on a date with you!'I admitted. 'Really? Wow that is great. How about next Monday after school?'he asked while I still couldn't believe it. I just nodded in response. 'Okay.I'll pick you up from your last class'and with that he walked away. I stood frozen to the spot for a few minutes before I walked back. 'Took you a while'my friend said when I sat down next to her. 'Sorry'I apologized and gave her her drink. Again I didn't focus on the game. Instead I replayed what just happened over and over again.
