➳ old crush

When Ye Eun got to school the next morning, she stopped right at the principals office and apologized for the incident that happened on Friday.

Thankfully, they took her apology and decided to not press any consequences after she explained the rules she was expected to follow from her parents.

The principal had called their parents to make sure, and when her mother got into the call and confirmed everything Ye Eun had said, she had let her go to her first class.

Minah smiled when she saw her, and waved. "Ye Eun!"

"Hey." She smiled.

In Yeop sat on the other side of the classroom, staring at them. Ye Eun awkwardly looked away and sat down next to Minah.

"Are you two still in bad terms?" Minah whispered.

"Yeah."

"Don't worry, you two will make up soon."

Ye Eun didn't reply. Minah glanced up behind her and Ye Eun turned around, only to meet Hwang in Yeop's eyes.

"Can we talk?" He asked.

Ye Eun reluctantly nodded.

"Sorry. I didn't think you would get in trouble like that." He mumbled.

Ye Eun shook her head. "I would have gotten in trouble either way."

"I heard they placed security cameras in your house?"

She pursed her lips. "Yep."

In Yeop sighed. "This is my fault. I'm truly sorry."

"Stop apologizing, I already said it's fine."

He glanced at her. "So, what's gonna happen with you and that Junseo guy?"

"What do you mean? Nothing has happened. We're still together."

In Yeop frowned at her reply. "That's not what I meant... how are you gonna meet up with him now?"

"Oh that?" She scratched her neck. "It's fine. I called my brother to convince my parents to remove those cameras, and they never tell him no, so it should be okay."

"Oh..."

Ye Eun glanced at the clock. "We should get back to class."

"Alright. I can eat lunch with you and Minah, right?"

"Of course you can."

In Yeop smiled. "Great."

Ye Eun watched as he turned around and left, before she snapped out of her daydreaming session and followed behind him into the classroom.

Minah leaned towards her once she took a seat. "What happened? I didn't hear any screams in the hallways."

"We made up."

"By making out with each other, I'm supposing."

"What?! You're crazy." She blushed. "I would never kiss that asshole."

"Oh please. You're gonna pretend as if you never had a crush on him? It was so obvious back then." Minah rose an eyebrow.

Ye Eun felt all the color drain from her face, but she tried to regain her consciousness and blinked several times. "What? Is that what you've thought of me this entire time?"

Minah simply smiled. "Just admit it already, Ye Eun."

She turned back around to face the front, speechless. Ye Eun felt exposed and it wasn't something she enjoyed at all.

In Yeop had rushed over to their side once their first three classes were over and walked to the lunchroom.

"I'm heading to the bathroom. I'll catch you guys there!" Minah waved and before Ye Eun could say anything, she left.

She awkwardly glanced up at In Yeop who stared at her.

"Am I making you uncomfortable?"

"What? Don't say dumb shit." She muttered and walked past him to the cafeteria.

"I don't know, you keep acting really distant..."

Ye Eun ignored him and rushed to the line, opening up her wallet.

"Come on, don't be like this. It hurts my feelings, you know." In Yeop sighed.

"Good. Don't care." She tightly smiled.

In Yeop gulped and didn't say anything else after that, which relieved her. Ye Eun glanced at her phone and her eyes widened when she saw a message from Junseo.

Junseo💙: oh no... im so sorry that happened to you. i miss you already. D:

Her heart stammered so fast she couldn't even hear her own thoughts. Ye Eun blushed and began to type him back, when In Yeop leaned forward to take a look.

"Is that your boyfriend?"

"Hey! Don't look." She shoved her phone back in her pocket.

In Yeop rolled his eyes. "I didn't even get to read the message."

"Good..."

"What do you like about that guy anyways? He seems a bit creepy."

Ye Eun frowned. "You're just saying that because you're mad I'm barely hanging out with you or Minah anymore."

In Yeop blushed at her response. "Don't compare me to you two! I'm only asking. You've never ever dated a guy one day after meeting them."

"I don't know either, to be honest. He intrigued me and I got hooked in I guess. There's nothing much else to it." She shrugged.

"You trust anyone too easily. That's exactly why your past relationships were a complete failure. Be careful this time."

Ye Eun crossed her arms. "As I said before, this is none of your concern. We may be childhood friends, but that doesn't mean you have to butt in my problems every second. You got it?"

In Yeop rose his hands up in defense. "I'm only saying this just because. Don't come crying to me if something ever happens to you."

"Yeah yeah, whatever. Keep talking boy. You still have a lot to explain to me about what happened between Minah and you."

He glanced around before sighing. "Okay, fine. Actually, nothing much happened. She just told me she liked me and I agreed to go out with her. We probably dated for two months before I ended it."

Ye Eun furrowed her eyebrows. "What? Why?"

"It never worked out. Minah became annoying and too overprotective over me. She's totally different from you. But we agreed to end with good terms, although it looks like it backfired because now she's always awkward when you're not in the picture and it's just us."

"That's a bummer but I'm still mad you never told me about this. You should be disappointed in yourself." She scoffed.

In Yeop paused, looking down at her. "What do you mean? Didn't you like me back then?"

Ye Eun visibly froze, catching his attention. She couldn't believe he had actually caught up with her feelings back then. "W... What?"

"Minah told me. I never paid attention to it but when she made the theory, I started to look at you, and your actions really gave it away." In Yeop awkwardly scratched his neck.

"T-That's not true," her throat felt dry. "S-She's bluffing... plus that was a long time ago!"

"I know... you don't have to lie, it's written all over your face." He muttered.

"Whatever. The past stays in the past. Don't even tell Junseo that you know about this... That goes to you and Minah, or you both are dead meat."

In Yeop reluctantly nodded. "I understand."
