KARTIK'S SIDE

Kartik was back from the party as he got involved in some disagreement with Anushka's finance who happened to come to the party to pick her. He tried calling naira but there was no response from her side. As much as he wanted to get angry on her for not picking his call he couldn't. This time he knew he was the one to be blamed. He didn't talk to her when finally she called him leaving behind her ego. He entered inside the mansion and saw his whole family sitting in the hall and talking. He ignored them and was about to go upstairs when Manish called him. He controlled his anger and replied him.

Manish: Kartik
Kartik: ji papa
Manish: tumhari naira se baat hui kya
Kartik: actually mai
Manish: Acha hoga agar tum khud Naira ko vapis bula lo. Kya bacho jaise ek dusre se ladhte rehte ho.
Kartik: lekin
Manish: mujhe kuch nhi sunana aur samajhana. Pichle do haafto se mai tumhe dekh raha hu.
Kartik: mujhe bhi kuch nhi karna. Jab anaa hoga ose aa jayegi.
Suwarna: haa Kartik do hafto se tum os se lekar sab jab bhi hum koi baat karte toh tum unsuni kar dete ho. Tumhe koi parvah bhi hai k nhi. Pehle ek mahine tum apne kaam mei ghuse rahe aur ab yeh sab. Pehle toh ek ghanta nhi nikalte the oske bina ab kya ho gya hai.
Kartik: will you all plz stop this. Agar oski itni hi yaad aa rhi hai toh khud bula lijiye ose. Oske aane se pehle bhi hum log reh rahe the toh ab kya problem hai. Vaise hi bas aap sabko mauka chahiye mujhe baatein sunane ka.

Kartik left the place and was about to go upstairs when he noticed Keerti on the stairs. He noticed she was on a phone call with Naira itself. It was the last thing he wanted right now. This wasn't for the first time his family asked him to call him. He was tired listening to their daily reminders to call her and talk to her. He wasn't a kid to be reminded this. He knew what he wants to do and what not. He just realized one thing his anger was his worst enemy in true terms. He grabbed the phone from Keerti and mumbled that he will give it to her later.

His family was dejected to see his anger. They didn't understand how to make him realize that his anger will make the things only messier. If everyone would try to talk to him he would only take it in a wrong way and lash out at him or her. They couldn't do anything except to being patient and wait for Naira to take the initiative.

IN KAIRA'S ROOM

Kartik called on Naira's phone again as the call got disconnected. He tried it for few minuses after which Naira answered it.

Naira: Hello bhabhi. Mai apse plz baad mei baat karu. I need to go somewhere.
Kartik: I am sorry.(she remained silent)
Kartik: I know you are there. Will you please listen to me once.
Naira: I need to be somewhere. Bye
Kartik: Naira plz. Just a moment.
Naira: hmm
Kartik: I know tumne meri baatein sunli hogi. Voh sab maine gusse mei kaha. I know mai bohat bakwas karta hu lekin mai bhi kya karu. Mai pichle do ghante se tumhe call kar raha hu tum reply nhi de rhi thi aur ab maa aur papa bhi mujhe hi bol rahe the. I just lost my cool. Voh har roz mujhe
Naira(cutting): when you not lose your cool.
Kartik: I am sorry.
Naira: well forget it. Gusse mei insaan vahi kehta jo oske dil mei hota hai. So I guess you don't want my presence right now so its better I stay away from you.
Kartik: aisa nhi hai
Naira: tumhi ne kaha na jab ose anaa hoga aa jayegi.
Kartik: mera matlab yeh nhi tha.
Naira: than why didn't you call me till now and not willingly to do in coming future.
Kartik: I wanted you to
Naira(cutting him): of course you wanted to see mai call karti hu k nhi. You wanted to know mai tumhare bina kitna time reh sakti hu. Kartik mujhe meri toh pta nhi kab hogi lekin tumhari ego jarur satisfy kardeti hu. I do miss being around you. It kills me to live without you. I hate myself for letting you affect me in this way. Infact I think it is only me who was in this condition. Well leave it baat karne ka bhi tab matlab jab koi samjhe. Tum toh samajhane se rahe.
Kartik: Nairaa

Before Kartik could say anything she ended the call. Kartik sighed in frustration and covered his face in dissatisfaction. From the day she left he had only blamed her not even for once he felt guilty but today he did. He felt sth breaking inside him after hearing her broken voice. He knew he had done nothing but hurt her in last two months. He sat on the carpet to relax himself. It was wrong of her to say that only she was affected by him. He was also not less affected by her. Only she would known this if she had actually seen his condition and habits in last fifteen days. He wasn't able to concentrate on anything. It wasn't like he was spending his entire time with her earlier but in past he knew she would be there at home waiting for him. But these 15 fifteen he knew she wouldn't be waiting for him. And this emptiness made him feel lonely in the house full of his family. As much as he ignored this in last few days he accepted this wholeheartedly today. He was too nothing without her these days.

IN NAIRA'S SIDE

Naira ended the call not wanting to hear anything from him. She had enough of his anger and rude remarks about her from last few weeks. She had been dealing with him patience till now but not anymore. As much as she didn't want to accept but it did hurt her deep inside hearing his words. How could he always lose cool when the anything is related to her. Why it has to be always her who is the victim of his wrath. She accepted that she had been irritating him very much lately but that didn't give him the right to lash out whenever her name is mentioned.

She was in her room and got busy making designs to divert her mind. The only activity which can provide peace to her mind and relax her. She was interrupted by a knock on her door. There were aditi and advith standing on the doorstep.

Naira: tum log knock karke kabse aane lage.
Aditi: mai toh bol rhi thi. Lekin bhai being bhai
Advith(taking seat next to her): Etiquettes chutki Etiquettes.
Naira: stop calling me that.
Advith: nope.
Aditi: stop it both of you. We are here to tell you that we are going to leave for udaipur next week.
Naira: kya
Aditi: voh engagement k Pehle karan ki dadi ne koi Pooja karani hai isliye. We need to leave earlier than expected.
Naira: lekin tumhari bachelor's trip.
Aditi: karan ne kaha he will think about this maybe after engagement.
Naira: awwww he is so sweet. Tell
Advith: stop making me feel lonely
Naira: don't worry mai hu.
Advith: tere pass toh hai tera so called husband
Aditi: He is so jealous of Kartik.
Advith: kuch bhi. Mai kyu jealous hoga os se.
Aditi: hey I have a idea.
Naira: kis cheez k liye.
Aditi: tere liye pagal aur kiske liye.

Later she informed that she has called some of their friends for her wedding. So they can try to make Kartik jealous with the assistance of her friend to make him realize her worth.

Advith: that's such a filmy idea. Bring sth new.
Aditi: it is such a nice idea. We are so going for this.
Advith: it will only create misunderstandings.
Aditi: apka suggestion maang kaun raha hai. Naira you are in right
Naira: nhi.
Aditi: kyu
Naira: This is not some game going on aditi. Advith sahi keh raha hai it will only create misunderstandings nothing else.
Aditi: yaar kitna maza aayega
Advith: koi na jab tera jhagda hoga Karan tab le lena maze.

Aditi glared at her brother while Naira laughed at them. Later aditi left as she again got a call from her fiance while advith remained back. Naira turned her attention to him as he continued staring at her.

Naira: kya hua
Advith: don't pull that stupid stunt which she suggested.
Naira: you know that I won't.
Advith: let me tell you one thing.
Naira: hmm
Advith: though I have never met him personally, I know he might had some reason too behind his actions. So talk to him instead of punishing yourself. Aise phone pe nhi milkar.
Naira: you are alright.
Advith: shut up chutki
Naira: whats your craze with these cartoons
Advith: tu nhi samajhegi

They were interrupted by a phone call on Naira's phone. He left telling her that  they can talk tomorrow about this. She picked up the call once he was gone.

Dadi: hello
Naira: hey dadi aap.
Dadi: kyu hum call nhi kar sakte
Naira: nhi
Dadi: kya
Naira: I mean humari toh abhi subah baat hui thi na.
Dadi: voh hume tumse kuch baat karni thi.
Naira: jii dadi
Dadi: tum vaapis kab aa rhi ho
Naira: dadi mai
Dadi: hum jante hai tum kittu se naraz ho lekin tum hume oski saza kyu de rhi ho.
Naira: aisi baat nhi hai. Mai
Dadi: hume kuch nhi sunana. Ab jab tak tum vaapis nhi aati hum bhi tumse baat nhi karege.

Dadi ended the call before Naira could say anything. She felt bad that she didn't let her speak and ended the call before she could even answer her. She was also taking Kartik's side and not understand her situation. How can she live with him who doesn't want her around himself. She sighed and decided to decided to deal with this later.

IN KARTIK'S SIDE

Kartik hugged his dadi once she ended the call. She didn't hug hum back and went to sit on her armchair. It was after Kartik's continuous requests she agreed to call her. Kartik asked her to call and to speak like this. She glared at him when he came and sat on her bed.

Dadi: tumhari vajah se ab voh hum se gussa hogi.
Kartik: kya dadi aap bhi. Gussa kyu hogi aur aap hi batayiye aap nhi chahte voh vaapis aaye
Dadi: hum chahte toh hai voh vaapis aaye lekin aise nhi. Tumhe kya ho jata agar tum khud ose baat karoge toh
Kartik: I will lekin abhi k liye jaruri tha. Thank you
Dadi: tum jaan anjane ose bohat taang kar rahe ho. Abhi toh tumhe mehsoos nhi hoga lekin jab hoga toh bohat pachtaoge. Tumhe har cheez apne mutabik hi kyu chahiye.
Kartik: dadi
Dadi: hmm
Kartik: aap pakka meri dadi ho na. Aap naira ki itni tarafdari kabse karne lagi.

Kartik left her room later as he realized she wasn't going to reply him. He didn't know why but his whole family was quite offended by the way he was actually treating her. It was just that they weren't telling him this on his face but he could understand it from their actions. No doubt he love it when they treat her as their own daughter.

He was on his way to his room when he  heard some noise from his Shubham's room. He went to check upon him and saw the whole young clan in his room playing board games. He thought to join them to divert his mind from overthinking.

Mansi: hey bhai hum aap hi ko bulane aane wale the
Kartik: tum log kya kar rahe ho yahan
Keerti: oh toh ab apka gussa thanda ho gya.
Kartik: shut up. Instead of helping me you guys are busy taunting me.
Shubham: kaisi help
Kartik: Naira ko
Shubham(shouting): I won
Keerti(throwing pillow towards kartik): I lost
Kartik: kya hua
Shubham(forwarding his hand infront of her): 5 thousand please (to kartik) hum log ne bet lagai thi. Mai kaha aap aaj humari help mangoge after talking to Bhabhi aur Keerti di ne kaha that you won't. Guess what  I won.
Kartik: sharam nhi aati humare life pe bet laga rahe ho
Shubham: apko sharam nhi aati aap bhabhi ko kitna hurt kar rahe ho.
Kartik(trying to be hurt): aap sab mei se koi meri side hai bhi ya sab ko vahi pyaari hai
Mansi(keeping her hand on him): obviously bhabhi
Kartik: girgit se zyada rang badalte ho tum log.
Mansi: oh please bhai.
Kartik: forget that. Will you guys help me.
Shubham: of course we will. Apke chakar mei hume humara daily dose of entertainment nhi mil raha.
Kartik: how thoughtful of you guys.

IN NAIRA'S SIDE

Aditi came to Naira's room to call her for dinner but saw her sleeping. She shaked her to wake her as she was yet to have her dinner.

Aditi: aaeyyy uth yaar mujhe bhukh lagi hai.
Naira: toh tu jaake khale kuch mujhe kyu pareshaan kar rhi hai.
Aditi: yaar mumma ghar pe nhi hai. Tu banade na kuch khaane ko
Naira: plz yaar nhi
Aditi: kya hai. Utha mujhe bhukh lagi hai. Agar mai bhukhi mar gyi toh karan se shaadi kaun karega.
Naira: koi na bechara tujhse bach jayega. Now leave and let me sleep.
Aditi: nhi uthna hai na theek hai. Koi baat nhi aaj mai bhukhi so jaugi. Mera kya hai.
Naira(sitting up): kitni badi drama queen hai yaar tu.
Aditi: tujhse ek level kam. Acha ab chal kuch banake de mujhe. I think pasta will be fine. Baki kuch aur banana ho toh teri marzi
Naira: khichdi bana k dungi. Pasta khakar moti ho gyi aur karan ne shaadi karne se mana kardiya toh.
Aditi: you have 20 minutes to cook.

Naira ignored her and checked her phone to see any new message. She opened her message box only to see some text from Neil.

Neil

Hey, Naira I hope you are doing good. I know you are on leave but this is important. Can you please visit my office tomorrow. The clients need your signature on some legal papers to initiate the project.

Naira

I am out of town Neil. I can't come that too on such a short notice. Can you please do this without my signature.

Naira was about to keep her phone and get up from the bed when she received his text again. She sighed after checking it.

Neil

You presence is needed as the meeting with the client is preponed for tomorrow. I also have many lined up meetings and currently on my way to Delhi otherwise I would have attend that. I am sorry but you need to come!!!

IN KITCHEN

Naira was cutting the veggies for the pasta while aditi was sitting in front of her with a sad pout on her face. It was decided that Naira will leave tomorrow morning along with Advith. He was already planning to leave to look after the arrangements for Aditi's engagement so Naira thought she can tag along with him instead of going alone.

Aditi: kya hai yaar. Pehle tera khadoos pati aur ab yeh khadoos boss. Teri life ehni logo se bhaari hai kya
Naira: kya kar sakte ek example mere samne baithi hai.
Aditi(throwing the apple towards her): you are blessed to have me.
Naira: yeah I know how much I am blessed to have you
Aditi: mai shopping kiske saath karugi. Hey ek kaam karte hai. Mai bhi tum logo k saath aa jati hu
Naira: tujhe sambhalega kaun
Aditi: I am not a kid anymore. I am just  10 months younger than you. Mai khud ka dhyaan rakh sakti hu.
Advith(coming inside): hello girls. We are leaving at 4 in the morning.
Naira: no way.
Advith: is there anyone asking for your suggestion.
Naira: mujhe nhi jana itni jaldi
Aditi: rehnde na phir
Naira: let me try to convince him once more.

NEXT MORNING

Kartik was in his office working on his laptop when he was disturbed by a knock on the door. He looked up and found neil and anushka standing there.

Kartik: hii guys
Neil: I did message her last night lekin osne mana kardiya.
Kartik: she is so stubborn dude.
Neil: I even said that I am in Delhi and your presence is essential still she didn't agree.
Kartik: yaar na voh dadi ki baat mani na teri. Maa ose vapis kaise bulau
Anushka: tu os se khud kyu nhi baat kar raha.
Kartik: She isn't picking my call.
Anushka: forget it. I was here to inform you that advith is coming today.
Kartik: tujhe kaise pta.
Anushka: karan was telling dadi about his visit. How I am gonna face him.
Kartik: you should tell your family about him.
Anushka: I can't.
Neil: baki sab kuch ka toh pta nhi but ek cheez k baare mei mai bohat sure hu tum dono ko dekh k
Kartik: kya
Neil: I am not falling for anymore anytime soon.
Kartik: we will see.

This was a filler for the upcoming chapters which was essential. I don't know how it turned out but hope you liked it.

Let me tell you one thing Karan is Aditi's fiance and also Anushka's cousin.
