21. Graduation

N A D A' S P O V

"Yes Mom be there by four. I had informed you yesterday also." I told my Mom through phone.

"Okay then bye AllahHafiz (Muslims parting greeting. Meaning may God be with you)."

"I am going you have to come Mom, okay?" I told Aunt Naaz.

"And you too." I turned towards Uméma.

"Ofcourse!" She smiled.

"And Fahad, don't forget to bring Alizah's bag I have already put all the necessary items you just have to carry along." I directed to Fahad who was sitting on the couch with, as usual, laptop on his lap.

"Wait a minute, where am I going?" He asked bewildered.

"Won't. . . won't you come to my graduation?" I asked with hesitation.

"I will not. Just ask Uméma to carry that bag." He dismissed me.

"No! You wait a minute! Fahad why won't you come? It's Sunday anyway you don't have to go the office, then?" Uméma interrupted in between.

I did feel a little bad when he said that he will not attend my graduation.

"Holidays are for employees not for the boss." He said and started typing on his laptop again.

Why does he do that? I shouldn't expect things from him? I seriously thought that he would come. Anyway why am I feeling so bad.

"No Fahad it-" Uméma was again going to say something when I cut her off.

"It's okay Uméma. Work is more important. Anyway I want you guys to come and please Ummi bring Alizah and her bag. Now I gotta go, I need to be there half an hour before and Mira would be waiting for me."

"How will you go? Your car is still at Target. How will Mira reach there? You are going with her?" Aunt Naaz said. That's how a mother is. She will worry about everyone.

"I will take a cab." I told her not trying to make her worry about me.

"No. Fahad will drop her. Go now Fahad put your work aside. Atleast for your wife." Aunt Naaz scolded.

"Mom! No please I have work." Fahad came out with his pathetic excuse.

"'No please I have work. Idiot." Uméma mimicked his voice.

Lol.

"Atleast drop her at her college, lazy lad." Aunt Naaz scolded Fahad.

Oh I love these Sheikh ladies.

"Come on now. What are you waiting for?" He came with his car keys.

"Because of this. Because of your attitude I didn't want to go with you." I snapped. Look at his attitude! Already I am angry with him for not coming to my graduation, don't why I am upset, and he is here showing his stupid arrogance.

"What?" He asked confused.

"Give me your car keys I will drive myself." I spread my palm infront of him.

"No I won't give you my precious car to you. Come I'll drop you. I am going Mom." He clutched my hand which was spread and dragged me out.

"AllahHafiz Mom and Uméma. Meet you guys soon." I shouted back.

And I followed my so called husband out.

The main thing which was making me dizzy was that my hand was still in Fahad's hand.

"Sit now. What happened?" He asked once we were infront of the car.

"Car please tell your owner that I am angry with him and won't sit inside until he says sorry." I dictated making his 'car' our communication mean. I am so silly. Sometimes I agree with Fahad when he says that I am stupid.

Fahad just looked at me with amusement in his eyes and chuckled. And muttered 'Stupid' under his breath. See?

"Hey car tell your owner that I heard him calling me stupid." I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms against my chest looking away.

"You are so silly." He commented and facepalmed.

"I am still with angry with you." I growled at him.

"Fine you won't sit inside?" He asked.

"Uhuh. Not until you say sorry to me."

"I thought you must have known me till now that Fahad Hammad Sheikh never says sorry."

"But today you will." I said glaring at him.

"Okay fine." He muttered to himself.

Is he seriously gonna say sorry?

I don't know when but he quickly opened the car door and pushed me inside. He did this so instantly that I didn't even get to progress when did all this happen.

He shut the door and came to the driver's seat.

"Begairat! THIS IS SO NOT FAIR!" I shouted at him. (Shameless.)

"Everything is fair when I am there." He stated while starting the ignition of the car.

"You idiot!" I threw the tissue box which was in the car. A tissue box? Why is that in his car? Weird people.

"YOU CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT THROWING THINGS AT ME?!" He shouted.

"Yes just like you cannot live without insulting me." I folded my hands and looked away.

The whole ride we insulted each other and when my college came in view he stopped the car.

"Just say a thank you and get lost." He rolled his eyes.

"No, first you say sorry!"

"No I won't."

"Same here." I got out of the car.

"Okay fine thank you for riding me here." I said after debating with myself. I have some manners unlike someone.

I bend down a little bit to see him through the window.

"Finally. Your welcome." He said in a teasing smile showing off his victory.

Every dog has its own day!

"Just get lost already." I said with a disgusted face.

"Not even interested to stay here also."

I turned back and was going to walk ahead when I again turned back to see Fahad's car still there. I was going inside when a thought made me turn my back towards him.

"You seriously won't come to my graduation?" I asked him hopefully.

He had no answer.

"I am also a silly person to ask you this question. Why would you come to my graduation? Anyway AllahHafiz." I ranted and rushed towards the gate of my college.

I stood there for Mira to arrive. I spotted her getting out of the car with Rahim. Ofcourse she would come with her husband. Just like yours came with you. Shut it brain.

"Asalamwalaikum (peace be upon you) Naddaaaa!" Mira squealed and pulled me into a bone crushing hug.

"Walaikumasalam (peace be upon you too) Miraaaa." I replied with the same enthusiasm and returned the hug.

"Finally we will be graduated." She chirped once she pulled out from the hug.

"Yes I am so excited."

"Asalamwalaikum Rahim boy." I greeted him calling him by nickname not a nickname properly but yes I add 'boy'.

"Walaikumasalam Nada girl." He chuckled.

"Okay you go and come along with the family. We gotta go." Mira turned towards him and kissed his cheek. Awww! So cute. I have always adored and shipped them.

"Byeee." He hugged her kissing her both cheeks.

"Okay enough of PDA I am still here." I coughed trying to acknowledge my presence.

"Oh my God!!" Mira gasped. "You heard that Rahim?" She asked him frantically.

"Yes I did and it's quite shocking too." He exclaimed with wide eyes.

"Can you explain me what?" I raised my eyebrows at them, totally confused.

"We just met Fahad before we entered the college and we as usual greeted him and Rahim kissed me on the cheek and you know what?" Mira elaborated.

"What?" I asked still very confused about the situation.

"HE SAID THE SAME THING!!" She squealed like a four year old.

"Oh God." I groaned.

"Couple goals! Couple goals!" She chimed.

"Mira let's go please. AllahHafiz Rahim." I told him and dragged Mira along with me.

"Ya I gotta go, I have asked Fahad to stop. I need to ask him something about some work stuff."

"AllahHafiz Rahim." Mira waved.

"AllahHafiz sunshine." He chortled and left, leaving Mira blush profusely.

"Let's go." She said and dragged me.

Sharp by four o'clock both of our families came. The graduation still didn't start because all the staff teachers gave their speech and the principal too. So it was five when the graduation started. But still I didn't find Fahad. He won't even come.

Mira's name was called out first and she went to take her degree. I cheered for her and clapped till my palms got red.

"Wohhoo!! You go girl!!" I shouted and clapped.

All my other friends also got to know that I got married. All the credit goes to Mira. It took me a lot of time to make up a story and convince all of them.

I looked at my family and they all gave me a thumbs up. My Mom, Alizah, Uméma and Aunt Naaz and not to forget Mira's family too.

I was kinda nervous, worried that I might trip or my graduation hat would slip away.

When my name was called, it was already half past five, I didn't realise it was mine because they said 'Nada Maham Sheikh'. First of all it is such a big name. Second of all, I am not at all used to that surname. I didn't use it anyway and won't even use in future also only two days have passed since I got married to him. Then my friend, Shaariq, also Mira's but more close too Fahad, who was behind me, informed me that my name was being announced.

Realisation soon dawned me, for the last time I checked my robe and rushed upstairs. I received my degree and I spotted my whole family with, with Fahad? He came?! Yayyyyy! He came at my graduation?!

But why am I excited?

The chief guest congratulated me and after clicking a picture I walked down.

"You got married too? Didn't even invite your friends?" Shaariq complained. He was mine and Mira's common friend. He stays near my house more likely close to Fahad's house and I and Mira had talked to him occasional times so we knew who he was. The main reason behind I and Mira befriended were that our Moms were friends with his mother. Actually Fahad's Mom and Shaariq's Mom were friends then Aunt Naaz introduced Shaariq's Mom to mine and Mira's mothers. Ah, you see the web of connections.

"It's a long story. Will tell you when I get time. It's you next. Mom has come actually Mira's and Fahad's too do meet them. Did your Mom come too?"

"Yes she has. We will come to meet you. Congratulations." He said lowering his gaze down. Have I ever mentioned you that he was a gentleman? No? Doing it now.

"Same to you."

Man! That was so embarrassing. But I didn't enter that name then who?

Oh! Mira! Yesterday we were called in the college to fill in the details but I didn't go and I am sure Mira has entered my name that because she was the one to fill my details.

But what made me most happy was that Fahad came.

I rushed towards my Mom and hugged her. Then I hugged Aunt Naaz who was standing beside her with Alizah in her hands. I kissed her cheeks too then moved to Uméma who was all ready to hug me.

"CONGRATULATIONS!" She screamed in my ear.

"Thank you!!" I shouted back.

Then I moved to the next and hugged him. Oh shoot! What did I do? I was so in the flow that I didn't realise that I hugged him. Fahad got stiffened. I was going to back off when he hesitantly put his arm at my back.

I pulled off and looked at him. He was standing. In front of me. In a suit looking all handsome. I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard a 'click' sound. I turned to see Uméma with her phone clicking our picture.

I quickly pulled out from the hug and maintained some distance. I am sure I must be as red as a cherry. I didn't look him into his eyes ever again.

"Woah! You are married to Fahad?" I heard Shaariq speak out of astonishment. Where did he come from?

"Oh Shaariq! How are you? Congratulations by the way." Mira smiled.

"I am fine. Congratulations to you too."

"Asalamwalaikum (peace be upon you) Fahad! How are you? Got married too?" Shaariq turned towards Fahad.

"Walaikumasalam (peace be upon you too) yes, it was quick. A very long story."

"It's ok-Oomph" He was talking when something or rather someone stopped him from doing so. That someone was Uméma.

"Oh God! I am sorry-wait a minute. YOU? I take my sorry back!" She rambled.

"Before, you were manner less now you have become shameless too." He gritted his teeth out.

"You do not deserve my apology." Yes, I see the rivalry between them. I didn't know that they both knew each other. Well, he and his mother, Aunt Zarah, might have come to Fahad's house anyway why am I taking the tension about it.

"I am going before I snap you very hard. I'll go and meet your guys' mothers. Where is Rahim by the way Mira?" Shaariq looked at Mira.

"With the mother-gang." Mira laughed.

"Please go. You are suffocating us with your presence." Uméma piped in.

"I am not wasting my breath for replying you. AllahHafiz people."

"Anyway where were you lost when your name was announced?" Uméma asked.

"Uh..that ...umm Actually I am still not used to adding 'Sheikh'" I answered hesitantly.

"So how was it?" Mira came and put her hand on my shoulder.

"You! It was you who did that!" I accused her.

"So what wrong did I do? Your name is Nada Maham Sheikh, right Uméma?" Mira insited.

"Shut up! You guys!" I scolded them and involuntary blushed. Why the heck am I blushing?

"Aren't we correct Fahad?" Mira implored him who was standing behind us looking lost.

"Uh...I um don't know."  He answered, scratching his neck when he decided walk away to God knows where. He probably got too awkward.

"These two are so cute!" Uméma cooed.

"Yes, so cute." Mira joined.

"Shut up Uméma I will see when your time will come." I fortold her.

"And you see Uméma their middle name also completes each other's her's is 'Maham' and Fahad's is 'Hammad' like half of their name is in each other's. 'Mahammad' Couple goals!!" Mira squealed like a fifteen year old.

"Ewwww." I gaged. "Shut up Mira . That was so cheesy. Yuck. Don't act like a teenager. Be mature. And ew I don't even like him a little bit." And also your name also completes Rahim. 'Mira' and 'Rahim' - 'Mirahim'" I teased her.

"Nada you do realise that you are teasing with my own husband whom I love already." She said sounding obvious.

"So what about you teasing with my own husband's name?" I asked her.

"Oh! So now you accept that Fahad is your husband?" Uméma jumped in.

"Ugh! I hate you both." I groaned and walked off.

All this is happening because of Fahad.

Asalamwalaikum and hello people! So Fahad came atlast. Tell me about how you liked the chapter and vote too. Until then thank you, AllahHafiz, bye and take care ^_^
