Basically, your an assassin and you later find out the target given to you is your best friend Yabuki Nako who left you 5 years ago to go back to Japan

3rd Person

"Seong Y/n you're here at last"  the boss said as he placed a file in front of Y/n.

"New target?" she asked while grabbing the file making him nod before he started to speak

"We have no pictures of her as you can see but she's kinda famous in Japan and is going to be in some sort of event in two hours, you know what to do right?" The girl nodded listening to every word intently before saluting.

"I'll get it done" she answered before leaving the room.

"Nabuki Yako why is that familiar?" She thought while scanning the targets personal information.

"Same height as my best friend who went back to Japan five years ago cute" Y/n mumbled and chuckled softly as she started having flashbacks of the two of them a few years ago remembering the times they would tease each other, eat together, play around everything it brought back a sense of nostalgia making her sigh as she knew she couldn't return to those days anymore.

"I wonder how she is now" she thought sighing cause of the fact they had lost contact when the both of them started college so she didn't know what was going on in the shorter girl's life anymore.

She sighed for the nth time before checking her watch "I guess I better head to the venue now" she thought as she grabbed her keys from her pocket and started heading to the parking lot.

"Another target for you this week?" her colleague asked all of a sudden making the girl nod as a reply.

"Well good luck then" she said before leaving.

Meanwhile, at Nako's side, she was currently preparing for the event she had in store for her today "Nako-chan you ready?" Hitomi her best friend asked.

"Yep I just need to grab my bag and phone" Nako said as she looked for her phone confusing Hitomi since her phone was right beside her.

"Nako it's just beside you" Hitomi informed while grabbing it and handing it to her.

"Oh sorry, I forgot thanks" Nako says as she places the phone inside her bag.

"Are you thinking about her again?" the slightly younger girl asked.

"Yeah I just wonder how she is we haven't been contacting each other at all and I'm just curious I guess" the shorter girl tells and sighs.

"Anyways come on Sakura-chan is probably waiting for us already" Hitomi says while pulling the slightly older girl down to the car.

"Nako-chan I get that we just got here yesterday and you're already thinking about her but focus on the even for now ok?" she continues making the shorter girl nod.

"Thanks, Hitomi now let's go!" Nako exclaims excitedly anticipating the event that was prepared for her that was gonna happen in a few hours.

Back to Y/n, she was already at the spot where she was gonna kill her target seeing all the people in the area made her think that the target must've been really important until she recognized 10 familiar figures in the crowd "IZ*ONE unnie's?" she thought surprised.

"Why are they here? And how is Sakura unnie here isn't she supposed to be in Japan?" she starts to think while grabbing her sniper to check the area until she spotted a car stopping towards the entrance.

"That must be the target" she thought as she got into her position getting ready to shoot until the figures inside the car stepped out making her lower her gun.

"Yabuki Nako my best friend...is my target" she mumbled as realization had finally hit her, she bit her lip trying to not let any tears slip at this point. She missed the girl a lot obviously but knowing what she had to do made her fee guilty for the first time.

"I have to shoot her boss' orders" she said to herself regaining her focus for a moment as she aimed for the girl's heart until she heard someone squeal loudly in excitement making her jump and drop the sniper surprised.

"NAKO UNNIE IT'S BEEN SO LONG!" Wonyoung said as she hugged her unnie tightly.

"Wonyoung get out of the way" the assassin mumbled frustratedly as she took aim again trying to focus on trying to shoot instead of thinking about the consequences that were gonna happen if she did it.

"UGH DAMN IT!" she shouted out throwing the gun to the side and sitting back down "I can't shoot why is it her? What did she do to deserve this? What did she do wrong?" she thought letting her tears flow down freely.

"I have to warn her" she said to herself before running down the emergency staircase not caring if she fell or tripped at this point she had to get the message to her quickly as she was doing this she was looking around making sure no other assassins were near the area.

When she found none she sighed in relief before taking a quick deep breath as she was already ear the 12 girls and once she did catch a bit of her breath she shouted in desparation "NAKO-CHAN!".

"Y/n?" The shortest of the 12 said surprised by the sudden appearance of the one and only person she came back to South Korea for.

"Nako-chan...run, you can't stay here" Y/n said while panting heavily due to the flight of stairs she ran just to warn her.

"What do you mean I can't stay here what's going on?" the shorter girl asked confused as to what her so-called best friend was saying.

"Nako-chan I'm an assassin I was ordered to kill you" she said after finally catching her breath the girls were obviously surprised by this not expecting the girl to take on such a job like that.

"WHAT?! Y/N WHY WOULD YOU TAKE ON A JOB LIKE THAT?!" Eunbi scolded before smacking the girls head making her wince in pain and pout.

"I needed money ok and Nako-chan we need to get out of here now" she informed before pushing Nako back in the car.

"Cancel the event we'll do it in a secluded area next time I'm sorry but Nako-chan needs to be safe" she continued worry evident iin both her actions and words.

"Already on it" Sakura answered before telling the driver to drive Nako back to her hotel.

"Wait Y/n get in" Nako says before the driver could step on the gas pedal.

"Nako-chan I'll handle things here please get home first" Y/n says to Nako worriedly.

"Promise me you'll come back to me unharmed" Nako says pouting she didn't want to leave her best friend in a situation like this at all it could endanger the girls life after all. 

"I can't promise that Nako" Y/n said and patted Nako's head finding her pout adorable although why do that in a time like this?

"Just please do it Y/n ah" Nako said pouting even more than she already was making the girl sigh and nod to reassure her.

"Ok I will, I promise" she said making the shorter girl smile and finally let the driver do his job, after they left she received a phone call seeing the caller id of the person made chills run down her spine for the first time in her life she was scared of him and the consequences he could do to her.

"Seong Y/n...this was a loyalty test and since you failed to do it, your our next target" he says sternly making the girl shiver slightly.

"How could you make me kill my best friend you psycho! That's a sick loyalty test! And I'm glad I betrayed you honestly I'd rather see my best friend alive and well than work for a monster like you" she says angrily before ending the phone call and throwing it on the ground causing it to crack and break.

"It was either kill or die for me in this situation" she said while running her hand through her hair ruffling it in frustration tears already starting to well up in her eyes from the stress that was brought upon her all in just a couple minutes.

"We'll find a way to fix it Y/n don't worry" Yujin said to the younger girl reassuringly.

"I hope so" she mumbled sighing as she looked around the area again to make sure they were all safe for now.
