True Love can hurt

Things have been going great recently. No Ripcon to annoy us, we figured out the real Aiden and Galvanax decided to take a break for a while. But we were still on guard.

Now Sarah, Hayley, and I were just leaving the snack stop to get our stuff for the next class.

"So do you guys wanna go out this weekend, you know, just us girls." Sarah suggested as we walked to our lockers.

"I think that's a good idea." Hayley agreed, flashing a smile.

"Not gonna lie, I like the boys, but at some point, they're too much." I mentioned opening up my locker. Once I opened it, I spotted something surprising.
"Um, girls." I called out to them. They closed their lockers and walked to me.

"What is it?" Hayley asked. I looked at them and pulled out the bouquet of orchids and daisies. They both gasped.

"Awh, this is so beautiful." Sarah said in awe. It really was beautiful.

"It is, but who put this in your locker?" Hayley asked once again. I shrugged my shoulders and looked at the bouquet. I then took notice of the ribbon.

"I have a feeling that this person is really into gold." I raised my brow and showed them the ribbon.

"Levi." they said at the same time, and I nodded.

"But why would Levi put these here?" I questioned, staring at the flowers.
"Unless..." I thought aloud. I gave the bouquet to Hayley and looked inside my locker.

"Uh, what are you doing?" Sarah asked, confused with what im doing.

"Well, in every cliche romance movie, where there are gifts in a girl's locker, there's an envelope with a letter." I explained to them.
"And I don't wanna get to assumptions, but the letter would usually say that this person wants to..." I continued until I touched something. I slowly pulled out a letter.

"A letter." Hayley pointed out. I turned it around, and there was a gold heart.

"Okay, if that's not Levi, I don't know who it is." Sarah told me. I opened the envelope and pulled out the letter. I began to read it

Dear Kaylee

A wonderful and sweet girl. You are a person who is so important to me. You make sure everyone is happy and enjoys being around you. You are kind to others, even if they did something bad. One of the things I love about you is how genuine and true you are to the people you love. You always listen and help in any way you can. And you also have an unique sense of style. You always know how to make an entrance. And not to mention an amazing fighter. This letter is not enough and I have so much to say. It took me a lot of courage to write this. So will you spear some time and go on a date with me after school?

Signed: L/A

"Aww, that's the sweetest letter I have ever heard." Sarah said in awe.

"Well we certainly know who wrote this." Hayley said like it was obvious

"Levi/Aiden." I told them. So Levi wants to take me on a date.
"Omg, Levi wants to take me on a date!" I exclaimed as I jumped up and down. Sarah and I grabbed hands and jumped together. But I stopped as I realized something.
"Wait, Levi wants to take me on a date......when I look like this!!" I exclaimed in frustration. I looked at myself in the mirror on the door of the locker.

"What are talking about? You look great. What's wrong with your outfit?" Hayley asked. I grabbed the bouquet from her hands and put it back in the locker.

"Nothing is wrong with it, I look hot." I answered as I grabbed my books and closed my locker.
"But I never imagined I'd be wearing this on my first date." i continued as we walked to class.

"You've never been on a date before?" Sarah asked, rather surprised with this fact.

"Well, I have been on one, but there was nothing romantic about it, just hanging out." I explained.
"But most guys never really show me that they an interest in me. Maybe because they're shy. I mean I don't blame them, if I had to ask myself on a date, I would be shy too." I continued with a proud grin.
Sarah and Hayley laughed at me.

"Well, don't worry, you look beautiful and I'm sure Levi thinks the same." Hayley reassured me as we entered the classroom. I sit in my usual seat next to Hayley and Sarah sits in front of me. Soon Mrs. Basil enters the class (I added a different teacher, since we always see Mrs. Finch and this one teaches biology) and the class began. But the thought about the date never left my mind.

*After the last class of the day.*
Philosophy just ended and I was talking to a classmate Melissa cause we were paired for a project. I invited her to my house on the weekend so we can discuss it. We said goodbye and I went to my locker. I opened it and I immediately spotted the flowers. Seeing them again just proves that what's happening is real and Levi wants to take me on a date. I felt someone wrapping their arm around my shoulders, catching me by surprise.

"Yo Kayls, are you ready for your date with the lovely cowboy?" I turned to face Calvin with Prestion and Hayley behind him.

"Wait, you know?" I questioned and turned to Hayley.
"Why would you tell him, knowing he will tease me?" I questioned her, a bit disappointed. Calvin has been waiting for a moment like this ever since i teased him and Hayley about their date.

"No, no she didn't tell us. We knew." Prestion answered my question instead of Hayley.

"Huh, how?" I asked again. So many questions and suspicions popped in my head.

"Well......we helped Levi set up the date. And gave him the code to your locker." Calvin answered, standing behind Hayley. I glared at them.

"How could.......oh that makes sense to how the flowers and note got into my locker." I said. The only people who knew the code to my locker were Hayley and Calvin (which was a bad idea).

"Also Levi told us to give you this." Prestion mentioned and gave me a purple, gold and black ribbon?

"What am I suppose to do with this?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Can't tell, you have to find out yourself." Hayley denied and the three left, leaving me to my thoughts.

"Great, a riddle. Perfect." I said to myself and looked at the ribbon. What will this do? I noticed there was writing on it.

'October 4, 15:30 a big day.' I read what was on it. This reminds me of something. Wait, a ribbon with words on it. The ribbon tree!! Maybe that's where the date will be. And it's 15:00 now. I have to hurry.

*20 mins later*
I was at the park, 5 mins away from the ribbon tree. I tied the ribbon around my wrist. I'm getting excited and nervous. Must be normal. I suddently heard screaming. That meant one thing: monster attack. I quickly followed the sound of screams and spotted basherbots running after the civilians.

"And to think Galvanax wanted to take a break." I sighed and ran to the basherbots, kicking away from trying to harm a child and their father. They quickly ran away and I backed away as the basherbots recruited in a group.

'Should I call the others. Nah these are easy.' I thought to myself.

"It's morphing time!" I yelled pulling out my power star.
"Power star, lock in!" I exclaimed locking my star into my morpher.
"Ready, ninja spin!" I spun my star and I immediately morphed into a ranger, hitting a cool pose.
"Shadow of the ninja, ninja steel black!" I called, doing a backflip, looking awesome.
"Saying that on my own is so cool." I said, really pumped.

The basherbots ran up to me and I did the same engaging into a fierce battle. There were many, but I had the skills. Every kick, hit and swing of my sword, destroyed every single one of them. More and more came to back up the rest and I was getting tired of it.

"That's it, I have an important meeting with someone so lets finish this." I shouted rather annoyed and took out my sword.
"Black ninja strike, steel slash, ninja spin!" I spun the star and sped ran to the basherbots, slashing them one by one. I jumped up to the Sky and spun like a tornado, finishing them off. I jumped away as the basherbots exploded. I suddently felt a hit on my back. I quickly turned around, blaster in hand and checked around.
"Hmm must have been a blast from the basherbots." I thought about it. I unmorphed and looked at my phone.
"15:27, I'm gonna be late." I panicked and ran to the tree. But what I didn't know that the hit wasn't from the basherbots, but a black arrow from a monster hiding in the bushes.

*5 mins later, Levi's POV*
I'm sitting on the ribbon tree with my guitar and a basket next to me. She was running a bit late but thats normal. Everything was set up. I'm feeling nervous but excited. But mostly nervous. What if Kaylee doesn't like me? I mean I know she likes the Aiden side, but what about the Levi side. What if she only likes me for being Aiden. I was about to think about it more when I heard panting. A head popped up and it was Kaylee.

"Hey, Levi. Sorry I'm late." Kaylee apologised as she sat down, trying to regain her breathing.

"Are you okay? You look like you're gonna pass out?" I asked, worried. The ribbon tree isn't that far away from the school.

"Yeah, just had an interference." Kaylee answered my question.
"Wow this looks awesome." She complimented on the picnic I set up.

"I'm glad you like it. Are you hungry or anything?" I asked her, opening the basket.

"I could use a snack." She replied. I smiled and took out a box and opened it, revealing quesadillas.
"What, quesadillas?! They're my favorite." She exclaimed in surprise and took one from the box. She took a bite and a blissful face appeared on her face.
"This is so good." Kaylee said in delight. She suddenly groaned and grabbed her head with her free hand.

"Are you sure you're okay?" I asked her again. She lifted her head and looked at me.

"Yeah I'm sure. Now let's get down to business." She shook her head and continued to eat her quesadilla.

About 30 mins later, we have finished all the food. And right now I was playing my guitar and singing one of my songs as Kaylee looked at the sky and swayed from side to side. But she was holding her head, like she was in pain. I asked her about three times if she was okay, but every response was rudder and rudder. She always apologised and say that it was her period cramps acting up, but I didn't believe. At some point she was zoning out so I stopped playing.

"Kaylee? Kaylee?" I called out for her.

"What now!" She exclaimed in frustration, looking at me. I was surprised at how she responded.

"Nothing nothing." I brushed it off. What was happening with her? She doesn't normally react like that.

"So what did you bring me here in the first place?" She asked, irritated.

"Well uh... I wanted to tell you something." I confessed, getting nervous all over again. Part because of her reactions.

"Well, are you gonna say it or are you gonna stand there looking like an idiot?" She questioned, getting annoyed.

"Okay, what is your problem?" I asked, getting annoyed by her attitude.

"What's my problem? You're the one that asked me to come here and waste my time!" She exclaimed, her voice getting louder.

"Because I wanted to tell you that I like you!" I exclaimed, matching her tone.

"So you wasted my time with some stupid love! GROSS!!" She exclaimed again, but I froze. That is what she thinks?
"I'm leaving. Thank you, Weston for wasting my time." She said and went down the tree. I couldn't even look at how she left. I was sitting and thinking about what happened. I could feel a few tears on my face. I couldn't believe how she reacted. That's nothing like her. I took a deep breath and packed up. I got down and headed home. The day after we figured out that Brody and I were siblings, he helped me move back to our old house. I used Brody's truck to get back home. Once I arrived home, I didn't even get my stuff. I just wanted to crash on the bed and hope all of this was a dream. When I entered the house, I spotted Brody on the couch on his phone.

"Hey bro, how was the big date." He joked, looking at me and putting away his phone. I just looked at him and went upstairs. I opened the door to one of the guest bedrooms, since our rooms are under construction to fit our style more. I flopped on the bed as I heard Brody's steps coming to my room.
"Bro are you okay, did she reject you? What happened?" He asked sitting on the bed. I just shook my head and buried my face deeper into my pillow. He patted me on the back and left my room. I looked at the door and sighed. Luckily it was Friday so i have an entire weekend to figure out what I'm gonna do and tell Brody about what happened.

*During that time Hayley's POV*
I was talking on the phone with Sarah about the girls weekend and about what Levi and Kaylee could be doing on the first date when the door opened. I told Sarah I was gonna call her back and ended the call. I stood up and was gonna greet Kaylee, but she pushed me away and walked to her room, slamming the door. What was happening? I quickly went to the door and knocked on it.

"Kaylee, are you alright?" I asked her a bit worried. Maybe something happened during.

"None of your business Ms.Nousy and leave me alone." She yelled with anger, evident on her voice. Why is she acting this way. Suddently my phone rang from the living room. I picked it up and it was Brody.

"Hello?" I asked once I answered the call.

"Hey Hayley, um did Kaylee happen to act strange?" Brody asked me, sounding confused.

"Yeah now that you mention it. She just locked herself in her room and when I asked her if she was alright she just yelled at me." I explained.
"What made you ask that?" I questioned him. You don't just call someone and ask them about your sibling.

"Well, because Levi just got back and was really sad, he just went to his room and flopped on the bed. He wouldn't tell me what happened." Brody explained, that gave me even more confusion.

"Really, that's so strange." I replied, confused more than ever.
"Look, I'll try to talk to Kaylee, you try and get something from Levi." I told him. He agreed and ended the call. Oh boy what has happened.

*Monday morning*
The weekend was a nightmare. Kaylee was being rude the entire time. I tried to talk to her, but she just shut me out and was only in her room. Luckily, dad was away on a trip for the weekend, or else he would have grounded her.

I was waiting for Calvin to pick me up. He usually would pick me and Kaylee, because Kaylee didnt trust Calvin enough so he can drive me alone, but she left early because and I quote 'didn't want to be late because of Calvin's slow driving". I spotted Calvin pull up by the pavement and I got in.

"Hey, Hayls" he greeted me by kissing my cheek. I smiled as I put my seatbelt. It does feel good not to be the one to drive.
"Where's Kaylee?" Calvin asked. I didn't tell him about her behavior.

"Well, I'll tell you when we get to school so I can tell the others. It's important." I told him. He nodded and the car ride began. I kept thinking about her behavior. Soon enough, the car stopped. Calvin got out and went to open my door. He held his hand out and I took it as I took off my seatbelt. I closed the car door and he locked it. We went Into the school, hand-in-hand, and walked to the snack stop where Prestion was waiting for us.

"Hey Hayley and Calvin, how's it going?" He greeted as he gave us a high-five.

"Honestly, horrible. Kaylee was unbea this weekend." I answered as we sat at the table that he saved for us.

"Why what did she do? Wait, what happened with her date?" He asked, crossing his arms together.

"Well, one, she was always rude and kept herself in her room. And to answer the second one: I don't know." I answered both of his questions.
"But from what Brody said, it didn't go too well" i added, leaning against my chair. Suddenly, Sarah walked to our table, looking confused but angered as well.

"Woah, what happened to you?" Calvin asked as Sarah sat down. I just noticed that her shirt was ruined.

"Kaylee happened. I was looking through my textbook to find a poem to read in literature when I bumped into her. She had a coffee and it spilled on my shirt. I'm not mad about her bumping Into me, but the fact that she didn't even apologize, instead she shouted at me for not looking and walked away." Sarah explained the situation. This is getting weirder by the minute.

"Okay, something is wrong with her. It can't be only because she's in a bad mood." Prestion said. He was right, we have to do something.

"Well we should wait for Levi and  Brody. Levi was the last that was with her before she acted like that." I suggested and soon enough both of them walked through the doors. Calvin waved his hand to get their attention. As the brothers sat down, I noticed how Levi looked. He didn't have his usual accessories and he was wearing a dark gray hoodie. I'm not saying it looks bad, but it's not what he would usually wear.

"Woah Levi, dude are you OK?" Calvin asked, putting his hand on Levi's shoulder. He looked up at Levi and we saw his eyes. They were really red.

"I've had better days." He answered, his voice rather raspy. He then laid his head on the table and covered it with his arms. The situation was worse than I thought.

"OK, seems as though Levi won't speak, Brody, do you know something? Sarah asked facinghim completely. Brody pointed at the stain.
"A story for later." She told him, sighing.

"Alright, so when he came back, he just went into his room and flopped on the bed. I asked him what was going on, but he didn't answer so I left him be." Brody began to explain. Just as he was about to continue, Levi raised his head and stopped him.

"No, Brody. This is my story to tell." Levi told him as he rubbed his eyes.
"So, I was waiting for her at the ribbon tree and she was a little late but I thought nothing of if. Soon enough, she appeared bit she looked like she was gonna pass out. She said she had an interference. We brushed it off and began with the date. I was playing my guitar while she was looking out, but she would hold her head, like it hurted. And every time i would ask her, she would say that she was okay, but her responses were getting rudder and rudder. I asked her one more time before she snapped, telling me that I ans I quote 'wasted her time with some stupid love'. Finally she left, rather angry." Levi explained everything that happened on their date. This is getting suspicious. Suddenly my datacomm went off. I looked around before answering.

"Guys, there's kudabot activity near 'garden house' park." Mick informed us from the base.
"Also, have you heard from Kaylee? I haven't seen or heard of her today." Mick questioned about Kaylee.

"No, havent since this morning, but we're on it Mick." I ended the call and we quickly put our bag in our lockers before going out to the junkyard so the others students can't see us leave. Luckily we have shop class as our first two periods so Mick can cover for us.

We managed to get to the park and indeed there was a kudabot attack. We quickly morphed and began to fight the kudabots.

"Looks as if Galvanax has returned from his vacation." Brody said as he kicked a kudabot.

'I'll say. I wish it was longer to be honest." I agreed with him, slashing a bot, destroying it.

"But Kaylee isn't around." Levi told us, dodging a hit. Even though she's been so rude to him, he still worries about her.

"Well, Mick said, she hasn't seen or heard of her." Sarah reminded of that Mick said on the datacomm.

"Something is definitely wrong. She would never resist a fight." Prestion said as he slashed a few kudabots away.

"Let's finish these things first, then we'll worry about." Calvin suggested, pulling out his ninja blaster. We regrouped and pulled out blaster.

"Ninja blasters, whiplash!" We yelled activating, whiplash mode.

"Rockshot!" Levi yelled activating his guitar.

"Final attack!" Together we shot and destroyed them all. We cheered, but something felt off. Kudabots, but no monster. Suddenly I felt something hit my back. I winced a bit. I heard a whimper coming from Sarah, so she must have been hit too.

"Are you guys okay?" Prestion asked, walking closer to us.

"Yeah, I guess. I just felt something hit my back." I answered and turned around to see where it was from. I spotted something in a bush. I walked closer to see and it ran away.
"Hey, stop right there." I shouted running after the the thing. The others followed me till we got an abandoned building. The being disappeared but I knew it was near.
I spotted something flying towards Calvin.

"Calvin, look out!" I shouted, quickly taking my blaster and shot at the thing. Calvin crouched down and picked up the weird object.

"A black arrow?" Calvin said as he inspected the object. Soon another one came but it missed. We turned to the direction where the arrow was fired and saw a black type of monster.

"Looks as if I blew my cover." The monster said in an interesting voice. Almost like darth vader. It came from the shadows and revealed itself. It looked like a mix of darth vader and a fallen angel. Black angel wings, and a broken halo. Along with a cape. It almost looked human.

"Welcome rangers. Let me introduce myself. I'm Dark Hater, the cupid of hate." Dark Hater introduced himself, taking a bow.
"Looks as if you're one ranger less. Exactly as planned." He mentioned whispering the last part.
"Let's make it six rangers less." He said and took out a black bow, reaching behind for an arrow. Unfortunately there weren't any left.
"Curses, no more arrows. But don't worry rangers, I'll get some more. Don't miss me too much." He told us and flew away.

"That was convenient." Calvon commented as we unmorphed.

"I'll say." Sarah agreed with him.

"But he hit us with this." I said, referring to me and Sarah and took the arrow from Calvin.
"We should go back to the base so Mick can inspect this." I suggested and we got back to the school building. Luckily Mick's class finished so we could go to the base.

"Mick." Brody called out as we entered the base. Mick was on the computer.

"What is it?" Mick asked sounding rather annoyed.

"We just had an encounter with Galvanax's new monster, Dark Hater. He was shooting arrows like this one. Can you inspect it?" I explained to Mick what happened and showed him the arrow.

"I'm busy, do it yourselfs." He told us and left the base.

"That was strange." Redbot commented walking towards us.

"What happened Redbot?" Calvin asked.

"Well, after his class his got back here, talking about some weird guy in a costume. He had black wings and a halo....." he explained what happened and gave a description.

"Wait, black wings and halo? You don't think..." Prestion summed up the description of the guy.

"That Dark Hater was here, yeah think so too." Levi finished for him nodding.

"So what exactly do the arrows do?" Brody asked, as Redbot took the arrow.

"Who cares, we aren't hurt or anything so we should just leave this nonsense." Sarah said and walked to the exit.

"I agree, this will just waste our time." I said and follower Sarah out.

"Wait where are you going?" Calvin asked before I could leave.

"I have a sister to deal with." I answered and left.

"What's going on? First Kaylee, then Mick and now Hayley and Sarah." Levi summed up everything that just happened.

"I think I know why." Redbot and we turned to face him.

"What do you mean Redbot?" Levi asked as we walked closer to him.

"I discovered some kind of negative energy in the arrow. Just like how Cupids arrow makes people fall in love, this arrow is the exact opposite." Redbot explained his discovery.
"Once hit by one, dark venom will fuse with the blood that transfers to the heart and poison it." He continued while the analysis appeared on the computer screen.

"And that venom fills people with negative energy so they don't feel any sort of happy emotions." Prestion got on to what they arrow does.

"Exactly, anger, disgust, selfishness and all those types of emotion are what they feel." Redbot finished.

"And now that Sarah and Hayley were hit, they won't help us fight Dark Hater." Calvin said realising what's gonna happen with the girls.

"Our is getting smaller, that's what Galvanax wants." Brody pointed out a major fact.

"Kaylee said she had some sort of interference. She must have encountered Dark Hater." Levi connected the dots together.

"So that's why she was mean" Prestion mentioned.

"We have to find a way to get the girls back." Brody said.

"But, how?" Levi asked the big question.

To be continued.

Oho, cliffhanger. We love a good cliffhanger. But I'm very proud at how this turned out. Many ideas came into my head and I can't wait to show them. But for now I'm gonna chill. That's all. Peace out. Love you ♡♡
