06: To know your Luck at Romance

To know your Luck at Romance

~*~

The sun in the sky has been  glaring brightly up above the heavens which made the students became more tired due to the excessive heat. It wasn't even summer to begin with but the damn sun was too hot and the ciccadas started to get noisy. Even the air that used to be cold has now turned humid and dry.

Hiro was sitting on his desk the entire time. He held a pen as he kept it spinning over his hand. His other hand held a book, a horoscope book again which made one of his classmate stare at him with a confused look as he fanned himself.

"Hey Hiro? Why are you always reading horoscopes?" His name was Ricky Rios. A chubby teen with round spectacles over his face. Hiro gave a look of disdain as he put down his book.

"I am reading this because despite my handsome looks, no girl ever dared to confess to me. Not even a single love letter was sent to me! Tell me, is the world mocking me or am I just too unfortunate in terms with romance?!"

Ricky looked at him dumbfounded. 'Is that your only reason why you kept on buying such books? To know your luck at romance?!'

Hiro moved a little closer to Ricky which made the chubby teen startled. Hiro signaled to him that he wanted to whisper something so Ricky came closer too. Hiro looked up ahead of them and pointed to one of their classmates sitting on the corner surrounded by three cute and beautiful girls.

"Tell me. Does he looked good  more than me?" Hiro asked as he pointed the guy with his index finger. His face showed a bored expression.

Ricky looked at the guy that Hiro had just pointed and grimaced. 'The guy looked neat and clean but his face cannot be considered handsome as the face beside him who claimed that no girl had ever confessed to him. Even though this guy's look should be lower than three points if ranked from one to ten, he had numbers of girls who wanted to pursue him! Whereas this good looking young master beside him can be considered as a beauty, no girl ever dared to approach?! What nonsense!'

"See the unfairness? He's not even handsome yet he had girls after him." Hiro sighed and leaned back on his seat.

When the teacher arrived, everyone immediately scrambled for their seats. The teacher called each one of them for attendance and begun class. Even though the windows were wide open and air is enough to pass through, the heat made the supposedly fresh air turn to humid and hot. It was unbearable for the students that they have to take off their vest and just leave their longsleeve shirt on while they kept on fanning themselves.

Lunch came around immediately and many students started to swarm the cafetteria to buy food but would leave quickly. Since the room was already hot, if added with hundreds of warm bodies swarming then it would feel like a live oven in the cafetteria. Some students would prefer to eat out but there are also who stayed behind.

The library was not even an exception. There were only a total of four people who registered since this morning. It would include the three librarians and one student, and that loyal one was Hiro. Hiro sat down by the window on the second floor. The spot he took was near to the nature since the tree's branch had almost covered the entirety of the window view. So if you looked out to the window, you will only be met with the tree's trunks and green leaves. If lucky, a bird would pass by.

Hiro loved this part of the library during these kind of weather. With the help of the trees, the air would be surprisingly cold and due to the location that it was high in the ground. Nobody had ever found out about this and only Hiro did. He had grabbed a book from a random shelf since he didn't had that mood to read literary works for while.

While Hiro was focused in reading, his phone vibrated from the table, creating a vibration throughout the table and turn his attention from the book he was reading. He stared at his phone with confusion as to who might have messaged him. He snatched his phone from the table and unlocked it, to only see a group message from his friends. It was about the trip this weekend. And that weekend they were talking about would be tomorrow.

Hiro looked at the conversation his friends were sharing and can't help but to heaved a tired sigh but was immediately replaced by a motivated one.

"I will go to that trip no matter what! Fuck Darius! Fuck him!"

"Young man! This is the library. If you wanted to curse so badly do it on a cliff then jump off!" The only lady librarian scolded.

Hiro quickly ducked his head on table, covering his face with the book from shame. 'Shit! That was soooo embarrassing! huhu'

The day has ended quickly. Students started to swarm the parking lot and the school gates to get home. Athletes who had club activities stayed behind as they practice and exercise on the school field. The bleachers looked empty from afar but a certain figure could be seen sitting there.

His brown locks were hanging down low, revealing a youthful and carefree attitude. His pale face and smiling pink lips were visible in his side view image. While his head was leaning down to look at his phone, three figures stood behind him. These three didn't even announce their presence as they slowly peeked down to what this friend of theirs doing.

"Oh..." Hiro croaked out in amazement. But to the three people behind him, it sounded like he just moaned out loud.

These three looked at each other before squatting down and started to peeked from the crook of Hiro's shoulders. When they saw what this guy was watching, their face immediately darken.

The video was about two dogs of different breeds mating, then if these dogs would bear puppies, then it will show what it will look like. A husky breeding a pomeranian, then a pomsky. A german sheperd and a golden retriever then a german retriever and so on and so forth.

James couldn't help but smack this friend of theirs. So without hesitation, James landed his fisted hand on the back of Hiro's head. His head leaned lower when the punch was made. Hiro's phone flew out of his hand while the two pairs of shocked eyes on the side landed to James.

"Sorry, my hand slip. Haha." They could feel the drop of temperature around them as Hiro started trembling in anger.

Chester and Maycee immediately took a few meters away from Hiro to avoid the explosion of a atomic bomb. Feeling the intense desire to kill, James quickly fled for his life. With a darkened face, Hiro looked to James who was running down to the track field and angrily yelled like a lion.

"You fucking piece of shit! I'm going to kill you with my bare hands!!"

The scene went on with Hiro trying to catch James as they ran around the field. But no matter how fast Hiro ran, James was more agile and faster than him with the advantage of being on the soccer team.

The sun had slowly begun to hide away and the sky had turned into an orange hue. Four boys took a good stroll on the streets as they make their way on a local supermarket to help Maycee pick up things for their trip tomorrow. This four boys were eating popsicle sticks as they talked about random stuffs.

"I just purchased a game last night. I'll bring it with me for us to play! Its quiet popular today." Chester exclaimed excitedly.

"Oooh... what game is that?" James inquired.

"Its about shooting and cool ass guns! The theme looked like that of a hunger games." Chester explained.

"That sounds fun." Maycee added.

"Yeah..." Hiro also agreed.

As they walk to the grocery, Hiro felt like someone was watching him. It never really bothered him cause he felt like it wasn't a bad thing but he can't help but be warry. He looked back to where they had walked but he didn't looked at the alleyway they had passed by but instead he looked up to the heavens that had oranged hues on it with a longing look.

It felt like the one who was watching him was from up above. The wind blew harder suddenly which made Hiro's hair sway with the wind.

"Oi Hiro! What are you standing there?" Chester called out. Hiro took a quick glance to the sky before running up to his friends to catch up.
