Let Him Do His Thing

~*~

The sun was blazing like a big fireball in the sky. The dessert was like a never ending sea of sand that would make one nauseous just from staring at it. There was no bird in sight and no clouds floated up above, only the clear blue sky.

Boooom!

"First and second troops! Advanced!"

The loud explosions and shouts echoed throughout the barren dessert as thousands of soldiers wearing black combat attires marched forward to engaged themselves in battle. Thier concrete defense  that stood a few meters behind them was barricaded with birebwires and spears while this building was equip with heavy and huge cannons.

The sand blew up into the air as cannons kept on firing from every direction. And on top of this concrete building, a cold and beautiful face stood amongst these men who were fighting on the ground. He wore the outfit befitting of a legendary soldier, two swords were strap on either sides with him while his white hair that reached his waist were braided behind his back. His red irises hovered over the battlefield as he watched his men fought for glory like a hawk.

"Lord Commander, your tea has been prepared and you have someone waiting for you."

The man smiled and turned to look at his servant. His pale and handsome face revealed a beautiful smile as his hair sway with the wind.

"Everything can wait but this war musn't. Let him play for awhile to not get him bored while waiting. I'll come looking for him after my job." He stated then took a few step back before he jumped from the top.

The servant was startled that she quickly run off to where her master had jumped off and found that he had vanished in thin air. The sound of metal hitting against a metal echoed in the battlefield even though the war and the booming of cannons was already defeaning.

Astonishment and amazement painted her face as she saw her master fought alongside his soldiers like he was just dancing there and was not slashing the enemy. Every move seemed to be like a pattern, every step seemed to be like a rhythm and every clashing of swords sounds like the beat of a music. It was breathtaking that this servant couldn't even close her eyes in a second.

'This young lord commander is really capable! Totally a husband material!' She yelled in her head then scampered away when she realized she had to assess her master's visitor.

She knocked on the office of her master where she had left the honored visitor and came in.

"What took you so long?" A cold and stern voice called as this servant went inside.

This man was the Kings' brother who is also his right hand man. His red hair was like fire over his head and his pale face made him looked like a doll. His clothes were neat and has five gold stars hovering his chest that pertains to how high his rank was in the military world. Her master was just four stars yet he was so reliable in battle.

If both of them fought, is my master at the disadvantage? Just how strong is this man? The servant thought to herself.

"Oi! Don't just stand there! Go get your commander!"

Just as he was speaking, a loud explosions from the cannons shook the building. The lights went out which made the room covered in total darkness then followed by a silence. The power went back on a few minutes after. When this man saw that this stupid woman wasn't going to get the personnel he needed he stood up and went to punish her with a slap.

"You crazy bi-"

"If I were you, you shouldn't do that in my territory."

The man was startled as he looked at the smiling face from his side. His right hand that was still in the air was being held in a tight grip by this white haired man.

"You dared to touch someone like me? Who is higher than you?"

He mocked and tried to pull his hand back but the grip was too strong. He gave the white haired man a glare but his eyes immediately widened, as his skin rose in fear.

"You also dared to touch someone in my presence and that is one thing I cannot tolerate!"

With that, he loosened his grip on his hand and took a few steps back. He looked at his servant who stood frozen on the spot and signaled her to the exit. When this servant was gone, his smile vanished immediately like it wasn't even there to begin with.

"So... what do you want General?"

"The King is requesting your presence in the meeting tomorrow."

With a confused look, he asked. "The meeting? What meeting?"

"About the brewing war with the dead. The ruler of this idiotic team up of demons and zombies had declared war upon us. We need to lay out plans, defenses and counterattacks if we want to win."

"Hm... that sounds like a pain in the ass cause you see, my job here isn't done. I haven't even brought the head of the leader of these bunch of idiotic terrorist. Might as well pass with this meeting. Just sign me in for attendance and a detailed report."

"What the fuck! This is the Kings order! If you don't adhere to it, you will be punished!"

"Punished? I've recieved countless punishement from him already. Am I supposed to be scared Darius?"

Darius frowned. Calling his name without an honorific sounds bad to him but right now, he didn't have much energy to bicker with this cunning man.

"Just listen to me... the King needs you!" Darius pleaded.

His pride was injured to the point that he wanted lashed at his brother who instructed him to have this stubborn as a bull commander to attend the meeting fully knowing that his brother might have just missed his favorite toy.

"He only needs me for my arse! Tell him he can fuck himself!"

"Its the King your badmouthing here!"

"Oh wait... I remember you're a General with five stars. Surely with those high honorific of yours... your brain can think of a solution to end this war before it even started. Whereas me, I'm lower than you so I wouldn't be much of a help."

Darius could feel his vein pumped on the side of his forehead in anger. "Are you just gonna lead our country to doom?!"

The lights died down again and when it turned back on, Darius was the only one left standing in the spacious room.

"Damn you Hiro! If I could just kill you and hide your body somewhere then everything would be easy for me!" Darius yelled at the top of his lungs while another batch of explosions sounded outside.

--

The terrorist had retreated awhile ago when they sensed that they were in a disadvantage. The moon rose up high into the sky as darkness covered the entire dessert. Countless of stars emerge in the sky, twinkling like a thousand jewels plastered on a black wall.

Hiro sat at the watch tower of their defenses. He had been sitting there for more than an hour or so contemplating about whether he should join the meeting or not.

He knew that this whole plan was set up by the King himself. He knew once he returns back to the capital, the King would lock him up in his chambers for a week and he didn't like that. He loved the King but his heart would always be a soldier who would love to fight alongside his comrades. To kill just to protect what was behind him, and that is their home.

Another thing why he wanted to be away was for the King to slowly loose affections towards him. If the King wouldn't be able to see him more often then gradually his feelings would subside by the time they would meet again. But assessing the events, he was gone for more than a month but the King was still caring and occasionally sends him letters and gifts while he was staying in the borderline defenses southeast of their country.

When the King's affection towards him reached the other officials ears, he had been labeled as 'the countrys greatest downfall' or worst 'the whispering wretch!'.

They thought that if he were to whisper one word to the King, the King would willingly follow it without any protest. If he asked to kill every single citizen of the country then the King would order it without a second breath. But Hiro's personlity isn't like this. He reached his own ranked as a four star commander with his own sweat and blood. He was respected by the people for he pays his respect too. He was loved by his comrades for he had treated them as an equal.

With a sigh, Hiro stood up from where he sat and looked over the horizon. His eyes were calm as he tried to assess what was beyond his line of sight.

While Hiro was standing on the watch tower, one of his soldiers happen to arrive for his shift in looking out for any ambush and infiltration. This soldier noticed the imposing and calm stature standing by the metal railings and recognized it as his Commander.

"Lord Commander!" The soldier called out with a salute. But when he took a quick blink, the figure was gone. "Eh?! Where did Lord Commander went?"

Another soldier had climbed up the watch tower and saw that his partner has gone mad. He was circling the watch tower and kept on saying.

"The Lord Commander had vanished!" He exclaimed.

"Fool! Lord Commander is resting in his room right now!" This newly arrived soldier yelled as he smack his partners head.

"But I just saw him a few seconds ago. I even gave him a salute and in just a blink of an eye, he was gone like a bubble!" This soldier earned another crispy slap.

"You stupid cunt! You want me to throw you off the tower?! How many times have I told you that Lord Commander is in his room resting!"

"But I did see him just now!"

"One more and I will really throw you down!"

"Oi! The two of you up there! If you don't shut up and do your job right, I'll do the honor of throwing both of you down here!" The voice of their Lord Commander's second in command shouted from the ground which made these two soldier's scrambled on their feet and position themselves to watched over.

'Tsk! Lord Commander is busy so we'll let him do his thing.' This second in command thought. He knew where their Lord Commander had run to and he was the only one who knew about it.
