His Name

Sitting on the floor of your guest bedroom exasperated and worn out, you look over to the bed stand clock to see it was now about one o'clock in the morning.

Your half lidded eyes traveled across the peach colored walls. What was once clean room, now look like a blood stained asylum. The once white sheets, were now plastered with seeping red stains. You'd probably have to throw the whole bed set away in the morning.

Eyes moving to the floor beside you, the first aid kit was opened wide as its supplies were scattered across the floor.

You decided you would clean up the rest of the mess in the morning, standing up and making your way over to your bedroom.

Grabbing a clean set of pajamas you dragged your tattered, scabbed feet over to your private bathroom, turning on the shower.

You stripped and let the warm water grace your dirtied skin.

Pondering the last few hours made you sink into the shower floor. You were exhausted and confused about the affairs prior.

Sighing, you close your eyes and let your mind drift back to the events of the last few hours.

"Who did this to you?" You said furrowing your eyebrows down at the creature.

With a heavy breath he makes it a point to look up into your eyes just barely reaching them.

"You."

And he fell into a deep slumber.

"What? Me? But, I don't even know him. Do I?"

You stood there hunched over trying to balance on your stilettos that were starting to kill your feet. You were soaked and now you were covered in blood from the hybrids wound, possibly wounds.

Your heart started pounding, anxiety settling in.

"Shit shit shit." You looked around frantically trying to find something or someone who could help.

"What do I do?" Your eyes traveled back to the main road you came from.

"Home isn't that much further down the road. Maybe I can make it there?"

You pondered for a moment not exactly knowing what to do.

"Fuck it." You whispered, moving around to the front of the hybrid, grabbing his muscular arms, wrapping them around your neck.

"Ok here goes nothing."

To say you were having trouble moving with the non-expectingly heavy hybrid was an understatement.

Your feet were definitely going to scab and dragging the heavy creature certainly didn't assist the situation. At least no one was outside to see your pathetic state.

Finally arriving home, you found shelter under the eve on the outside of the building.

Leaning both you and the hybrid against the outside wall, a small yellow and black sign caught your attention.

"Shit." You cursed again.

You had forgotten about the strict hybrid laws of the building.

In bold midnight black letters wrote "NO HYBRID PERMITTED WITHOUT LICENSE."

You'd have to sneak past the condominiums security in order to get him inside.

How the hell could you do that? You two weren't exactly unnoticeable.

Peeking inside of one of the windows, you caught the guard on duty sleeping.

"Perfect."

You prepared yourself to carry the hybrid again.

"Ok here goes nothing."

Lifting the both of you off the wall, you had found him to be heavier than before.

The sound of his dragging feet pierced like venom in your ears. You could only pray that the security guard wouldn't wake up before you had arrived to the elevator.

Luck was on your side as you get to the elevator in one piece. Entering, you press the button to your floor and lean against the side for a quick break.

When you got to your floor, you took a sly peek out into the halls to make sure no one was looking.

When you knew the coast was clear, you dragged the boy to your door, unlocking it swiftly with the keys that were still in your pocket from when you left your job.

Kicking the door wide open, you made it about two feet before you collapsed, hybrid in tow.

As to not hurt the boy more, you gently pushed him to the ground beside you.

You laid on your back exasperated from what seemed like a five hour journey. You felt like someone hit you with a truck as you tried to compose yourself.

After laying there for about five minutes catching your breath, your head lollied over and saw the passed out feline still breathing heavily. You had almost forgotten about him in the midst of trying to gain your senses.

Sitting up straight, you stripped your suit jacket off rushing to his side. His leg was still bleeding profusely.

You needed to find something to stop the blood.

Now.

Sprinting to your spare bathroom, you had grabbed as many towels as your hands could fit, also finding an emergency first aid kit, and brought them over to his side.

You decided the only way to get to his wound was to cut his pant leg completely.

Rummaging through the first aid kit, you found a pair of medical scissors.

The injury was on his upper thigh so you knew you had to cut the pant leg all the way up.

When you finished, you immediately took one of the towels you grabbed from the bathroom and wrapped it tightly around his leg to try and stop the blood flow.

"Ok. Ok. I know how to do this. Just take a breath and calm down." You whispered encouraging words to yourself.

Growing up in the orphanage, you often had to take care of the younger children if they got hurt or injured.  Although you weren't medically trained, you thought you had enough experience to help.

Eyes gracing the wound, you decided his leg needed to be stitched now. You had never stitched anything this big before, but, you couldn't just let him bleed out.

Rolling up the sleeves of your dress shirt, you picked out the supplies you had thought you needed from the first aid kit.

As you unwrapped the towel underneath your hands, the boy started to stir.

"Oh, now you decide it's ok to wake up." You whispered sarcastically under your breath.

His eyes started to open. Preparing for the worst you picked up the emergency scissors and hid them behind your back.

As soon as his eyes opened fully they landed on your figure.

In the blink of an eye he had somehow managed to sit up as he started dragging himself away from you.

His eyes were frantically scanning your home as his tail swung lighting fast knocking over a few picture frames along the way.

You knew he was scared.

"Wait." You tried to say in a non-threatening tone.

It was reciprocated with a pained hiss and a glare.

Rolling your eyes frustrated, you stood up swaying a bit trying to catch up to the feline who had now made his way into your kitchen.

"I'm not going to hurt you. I promise. I just want to help." Another hiss was heard as you groaned watching him trying to stand up using your kitchen island for support.

When he got fully up a pained expression made its way to his face.

"Dammit." He cursed loudly wincing in agony.

"Please let me help you. You've lost a lot of blood! Your going to bleed out!" You said inching your way slowly towards him.

"What do you care human?" He yelled suddenly, whipping his head towards your face. "It was you who did this to me! Your people!" He remarked with a cold glare.

Taken aback for a second you realized that before when he said "you" he didn't really mean you per say, but "you humans."

"Listen I do care. I'm not like those humans who hurt you I promise."

If his eyes were able to shoot lasers you'd surly be dead.

You took his momentary silence as leeway to continue speaking.

"Look I know. Ok? I know what it feels like to be abandoned...emotionally broken. But sometimes, just sometimes you need to be able to lean on someone for help even if it's momentary. I promise you. I want to help. I wouldn't have dragged you in the poring rain into my clean home just to get it dirtied if I didn't."

The feline stood for a moment, eyes not leaving your figure. Continuing to breath heavily, he hunched over as he pondered your words.

Thinking at this point he didn't really have a choice in the matter, his expression softened a bit as he complied.

"Fine. Only this once." He said weakly, as his body leaned on the island as he used it for support, slowly sitting on the floor.

"Ok." You said sighing contently. "This will probably be easier in the guest bed. Can you get up?"

He looked at you with an "are you dumb" expression.

You laughed sarcastically. "Right. Ok. I'm going to help you." You slowly leaned down towards him. His posture stiffened defensively as he inhaled sharply.

"Hey. Is it ok if I touch you? I need to help get you to the other room." You said finally kicking off your heals.

He looked down at your feet startled by the sound of your shoes. They were bloodied and blistered. It was your own blood. From helping him. Maybe it was ok to let you help. Just this once.

The hybrid looked back at you nodding slowly, shoulders relaxing. You gently draped his arm around your shoulder and locked your left arm around his waist.

Helping him stand, you two slowly dragged each other into the guest bedroom.

Finally reaching the bed, you motioned him to get on.

His eyes traveled the white fluffy sheets as they made their way back to yours.

"It's going to get dirtied." He said confused and out of breath.

"That doesn't matter right now. What matters is your wound. If we don't get it stitched now you're going to bleed out." You said as he was taken aback by your forwardness.

"Fine, but don't blame me when you have to throw the sheets away." He said slowly sitting down on the bed.

You laughed sarcastically and whispered under your breath. "If I were to throw away everything that got bloodied in this house, I'd have to throw the whole apartment away."

Hearing a huff you look down. Knowing he's in a lot of pain you try to hurry.

"Listen I'll be right back ok? I have to go get first aid kit stay still would you?" He nods slightly, eyes scanning the peach colored walls.

You run to get the supplies. When you come back, you see that he is no longer sitting on the bed but standing next to it holding a picture frame.

"Hey!" You say more loudly then you would have preferred. "Your supposed to be in bed!" You said walking towards him.

Becoming scared by your sudden entrance, the feline drops the frame as it scatters on the floor.

His eyes bust open in panic looking between you and the shattered glass.

"I-I didn't mean to I swear. You just- I wasn't expecting-" He try to speak as he cowered against the wall.

"It wasn't supposed to happened I just-"

"I'm not worried about the picture you idiot, I'm worried about you! Now get into bed!"  You said coming towards him.

He flinched as you put your hand out to try and help him back to the bed.

Startled by his reaction, you quickly pulled you hand away.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry please." He said in a whisper, eyes shut tight and tail between his legs. His ears were trembling and hugged themselves into his head.

Where did you come from that your like this? What happened to you? You thought to yourself.

"Hey I'm sorry I startled you. I didn't mean to, I just want to help you ok? Come. Let's get you back to bed." You finished slowly reaching out your hand to him.

His shoulders dropped a bit with your words, as his eyes slowly opened. Finally leaning himself off the wall, you slowly grabbed his trembling figure and splayed him down on the now bloodied sheets.

"Ok now try to relax. Here. Take these." You said grabbing some pain meds from the first aid kit.

"No." He said glaring at the two red and white pills in your outstretched hand.

"Wha-why not?? Your in pain, aren't you?" You said baffled. "It'll help I promise just take them." You said pushing them further out to him.

"I said no!" He said with gritted teeth, smacking them out of your hands.

Now it was your turn to glare. "Fine, but don't say I didn't warn you!"

He replied with a huff and looked at the ceiling.

How can someone be so scared one second and so nasty the next?

You rolled your eyes and tied your long hair on the top of your head. Next you set up your supplies, first re-wrapping the towel around his leg to stop the blood.

Going through the steps in your head, you looked towards the poor thing to see he was slowly beginning to slip out of consciousness again.

"Shit. Hey wake up!" You said hitting the side of his face a bit.

He growled, something you didn't think he was capable of, and rolled his head to the side to look at you.

"What." He said impatiently.

Rolling your eyes yet again, you show him a bottle of peroxide.

"I have to disinfect it before I stitch you up ok? It'll be a little less painful than alcohol but painful nonetheless."

"I don't care just get it over with." He said tiredly and out of breath.

You couldn't help but feel bad for him as he furrowed his eyebrows in pain.

"Ok I'm gonna do it now...you sure you don't want the medicine?"

He hissed in reply and closed his eyes.

"Ok just trying to help. Geeze."

You slowly unwrapped the towel to see the bleeding has gone down significantly.

"Ok I'm going to disinfect it." You said more to yourself then to him.

You begin to disinfect the area as the boy barely makes any noise. You think he has slipped out of consciousness again but when you look up, his dark cat-like eyes are staring sorrowfully into yours.

When your eyes meet his he quickly glances away.

"Are you done with that yet?" He says almost in a bored tone.

You looked at him confused. "Umm,yeah. Didn't that hurt?"

He sighed and replied still not looking at you. "Yeah, but I've been through worse."

His words made you feel pity as you decided it was time to keep going.

"Ok. I have to stitch it now. Get ready." You said getting the needle and thread.

The hybrid closed his eyes tightly as his fists dig into the fluffy red and white sheets.

"Just do it."

You started and his eyebrows furrowed in discomfort. A few minutes in you heard him breathing heavily, a pained moan escaping his lips every now and again.

"I'm almost done kid, try and sit still."

You tried to move as swiftly as possible without messing up. When you were done stitching, you carefully bandaged his wound.

Sighing contently at your work, you plopped down onto the floor, exasperated and now covered in more blood if that was even possible.

Your half lidded eyes traveled to the boy.

He was knocked out. You had figured as much when about three quarters of the way through the squeals coming from his mouth had stopped.

"Please don't be dead. Please don't be dead. I didn't go through all of this for you to die. Please."

You crawled next to him and shook his arm gently. You would let him rest again when you knew he was alive.

"Come on you stupid cat. Wake up."

A few seconds later he inhaled deeply. His face scrunched up and his crescent eyes fluttered open softly.

Slowly they moved around until they met your figure.

Examining you carefully, he saw the sweat begin to trickle down your forehead and your hands on his forearm trembling. Your eyes were beginning to droop and your feet were cut up. Overall you looked like a hot mess.

Because of him.

But why did you help? Every human he's ever come into contact with only wanted to hurt him. All they did was punish and jab him with those awful needles.

"Hey!" He heard an exasperated voice. "Can you hear me? Are you ok?"

Looking at your face he saw concern. Something that he only ever saw come from his brothers. Never a human.

"Are you ok?" You repeat yourself.

"Other then my leg hurting like a bitch...yeah. I think I'm ok." He managed to croak out.

You sighed in relief. "Oh thank god. I thought you were dead. Ok I'll be right back." You said getting up with a hiss.

You looked down at your feet and saw a few blisters.

"Damn that's gonna hurt in the morning."

"Where."

You turned around to the voice. "What?"

He sighed annoyed not making eye contact. "Where are you going?"

"Oh. The kitchen I'm getting you some water. And don't tell me no this time, your too dehydrated!" You said walking out of the room.

The hybrid stared at the door after you. He couldn't put his finger on it, but he felt uneasy when you left. Would you really come back? Maybe your working for the people he escaped from secretly and your going to go call them to tell them to pick him up and take him back.

However, all of his panicked thoughts came to an end when his big ears picked up on your feet dragging back into the room.

A glass of water was shoved in his face. Slowly he grabbed the glass holding it in his hand for a moment.

He looked back up to see you waiting in anticipation.

You rolled your eyes. "It's not poisoned for Christ sake, just drink it."

He gulped and looked back down to the glass. Apprehensively, he brought the clear cup to his lips and took a sip. And another and another. Before you both knew it the glass was empty and being shoved back into your hands.

A small tired giggle was heard and he looked up to you.

"I thought cats were clean creatures. But look at you. Your a mess."  You said taking your hair tie out of your hair and running your hand through it, fingers stoping from dried up blood splatters every now and again.

To say he thought you were odd was an understatement. You were the most strange human he'd ever met.

His eyes became lidded again as they started to close.

"Well. Get some rest I guess." You said sitting back down on the floor. "I need a breather before I move again."

He glanced at you for a moment before gently closing his eyes.

"Wait! Before you fall asleep...what's your name?" You half whispered.

"J243." The feline replied with another sigh.

"Wha-J24...well that's no name. Stop messing around. What's your real name?"

"Well it is from where I'm from."

You pondered for a moment.

"What? Where the hell did you come from?"

No answer was heard.

"Are you asleep?"

An annoyed groan escaped his lips. "Well I would be if you'd just shut up."

Rolling your eyes for the umpteenth time that night you spoke to yourself.

"J243. J243. Hmm. Maybe we could give you a J name. Jason? Jackson? Do you like those?"

He huffed and turned his head away from you.

"I don't need your stupid names."

"Ugh."

You puffed becoming tired of his stubbornness.

"Well if I'm going to keep you safe from wherever the hell your coming from, then you need to blend in. Plus, that's not a real name, it sounds more like an experiment label or something. So I'm going to ask again, do you like those names or no?"

He pondered what you said for a moment taken aback by your statement. If you were going to help him? Keep him safe? Is that what she said? He didn't really have a choice since he was barely mobile.

"No. Pick another one." He finally decided.

Satisfied with his answer, you started to think of names.

"Umm ok I'm not really good at this. Jin?" You finally said thinking about your co-worker.

"No."

"Jimin?" That had been your last clients name.

"No."

You were running out of options. You thought back to the orphanage where you grew up. Your favorite little boy was timid, at first but was never afraid to speak his mind. He reminded you of the cat that laid in front of you.

"Jungkook." You said certainly.

He didn't reply for a moment so you thought he had fell asleep. Finally a small voice called out.

"Jungkook. Okay."

You smiled satisfied with yourself.

"Okay."

After stepping out of the shower you swiftly put your pajamas on and dried your hair with a towel.

You jumped into bed as quickly as you could.

"Thank god I don't have work tomorrow."

And you fell into a deep slumber not knowing or caring what tomorrow would bring.

Hey hey! It's getting interesting now! Let me know what you think! Happy reading!
