Comfort in Eachother

You and Jungkook were currently seated in your living room. Ever since Hoseok had showed up and threatened to take him away from you, the boy hadn't left your side.

You thought it was because he felt safe in your home. Plus, you were the first person he had met, possibly in his life, that wasn't trying to preform experiments on him or stick him with needles or whatever else they did there.

He hadn't said a word, but, you noticed the way he glanced at you every few seconds, wanting to make sure you were next to him.

You turned to face Jungkook, taking one of his masculine hands in your own two, thinking for a moment if every part of his body was more muscular than the next.

Letting you take it, Jungkook then faced you, informing you, that you had his full attention.

"Jungkook, are you ok?" You asked softly.

A look of worry graced his features for a split second before turning neutral again.

"Is he-are you going to make me leave?" His eyes averted from yours as he anticipated your answer.

Your hands tightened around his before speaking.

"Jungkook, I already told you, I'm not letting you go that easily, ok? Hey, look at me."

He slowly spun back towards you, holding your hands tighter than before.

"Your not going anywhere."

Jungkook let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. He was unfamiliar to the outside world in many ways. Plus now he had begun to become accustomed to your lifestyle.

He liked sleeping in a comfy bed, and having his breakfast homemade. He had even liked the anticipation of you coming home at the end of your work day, because when you were gone there was a void he couldn't explain.

"Ok. I believe you." Something he hadn't said to anyone really, save his "brothers" from the facility.

You gave him a warm smile as Hoseok walked into the room stealing your attention away from Jungkook.

"Ok. Good news and bad news. What do you want first?"

"Good." You said quickly. After the past few hours the vibe in your apartment could definitely use some good energy.

The man looked between you and Jungkook before speaking. "Ok." Hoseok started, sliding onto the couch on your other side.

"He said he can help. Definitely. He even said he'd do it for free since you've helped him out in the past...and cause he quote, "really put you through it for a short time."

"Well that's good I guess. But...who is it?" You said apprehensively.

Hoseok looked at you sheepishly, scratching the back of his left ear. A habit of his when he became nervous.

"Well...that's the bad news."

You sighed, becoming nervous finally taking you hands out of Jungkooks, to witch he pouted briefly at the loss of contact, and ran one smoothly through your hair.

"Well?"

"Park J..." Hoseok answered, mumbling.

"Who?"

Sighing he looked directly at you. "It's Park Jimin." He stated sternly, and it felt like the wind left your body with one striking blow.

Anger slowly boiled it's way through your veins, ears and cheeks slowly turning cherry red at the realization of his words. Your hands clenched into fists of furry. Jungkook could sense your drastic mood change immediately, waiting for your next move.

You stood up swiftly, startling both boys. Turning around, you gave the meanest looking death glare you could conjure up.

"Park. Jimin." Hoseok avoided your gaze for as long as he possibly could. Jungkooks ears flattened atop his head fearing if he made any sudden movements you might pounce and attack one of them.

"Hoseok." You growled. "Tell me you didn't just say what I think you did."

If Jungkook didn't know any better, he'd definitely say you could pass as a wolf hybrid right now.

He chuckled slightly under his breath, still making it a point to avoid eye contact with you.

"Y/n. Hear me out here-"

"Fucking Park Jimin!" You yelled ferociously. "Are you kidding me Jung Hoseok!"

He hated when you used his first and last name. That only meant you were mad. And you were scary when you were mad.

You had met Park Jimin through Hoseok a year back. He had mentioned to you that they met in high school and hit it off, ultimately becoming good friends.

You hadn't had the pleasure of meeting the boy until he was in trouble. Major trouble. Major legal trouble. Your best friend asked you to help him out.

Of course you said yes. Any friend of Hoseoks was a friend of yours. So you happily agreed to meet with him regarding the trouble he was in. You wished you didn't.

He was charged with illegal hybrid breeding and false documentation along with a few other misdemeanors. It proved to be a difficult case, but you would have gotten through it a lot faster had it not been for Jimin himself.

His condescending demeanor and his flirtatious mannerisms hardly helped you get any actual work done. You had let the soft shoulder touches and hand brushes slide. Only because you had promised Hoseok you'd help his friend, and you were getting paid handsomely. Apparently the business you had deemed immoral, paid greatly.

You didn't really despise the guy. It wasn't until the night of his court date that you developed a new found hatred for the man. You had convinced the jury with only what you would consider magic, that you client was in fact, innocent.

He had wanted to take you out for a drink to celebrate, to which you thought why not? You had worked your ass off and you deserved it.

That night didn't go so smoothly though.

He was being extra touchy. That's because he was extra drunk. You were too. You probably would have gone for it too had he not been Hoseoks friend. He would never allow anyone guy he was friends with flirt with you. Not even his cute friend Yoongi. Someone you actually liked, who's number you had practically begged for. He said no of course. You had thought is was some kind of protective older brother complex. You didn't ask again.

After driving you home that night and walking you all the way up to your front door, he forced himself through the entrance of your new apartment that still had boxes unopened, that were filled with junk you had to sort out at some point.

Pushing you up against a wall he had forced a kiss, shoving his tongue practically down your throat as his hot hands explored your body.

It took all of your strength to shove the clearly stronger man off of you. Kicking him out, you went straight to bed, only to wake up the next morning to 52 text messages and missed calls combined all mostly apologizing for his drunken behavior. Also confessing he had developed feelings for you along the way and the only way he had any courage to do anything about it was drunk. Even after the continuous amount of times you told him to stop after he forced his body against yours.

Angry and confused you blocked his number, immediately calling Hoseok after to update him on your situation. You swore you had never heard him curse so much in his life then when he did Park Jimin over the phone.

Jimin deserved it so you weren't to concerned. You just didn't want to talk about him anymore and forget it.

However, the moment the name Park Jimin left your best buds lips, you felt like exploding.

How were you supposed to see him again without feeling anxious? You knew Hoseok would probably be there, but there were things left unsaid. You were unsure how it would all play out.

"Y/n. Listen to me. Please. He regrets what he did terribly. Even to this day he asks me if you still hate him. He wants to start over with you and make up for everything he's done. You know I wouldn't let you speak to him if I didn't trust him. Please? Give him a chance?" Hoseok finally said looking into your eyes.

You sighed and sat back down in between the two men. Even though you didn't like Jimin, you had to admit, he'd be the perfect person to help. His knowledge on hybrids even surprised you when you began working on his case.

Jungkooks tail waved in curiosity. You clearly had a past with this Jimin guy, and judging by your reaction, you didn't like him very much. If this guy was his only option, he had hoped you could get over your differences. Shifting his gaze towards yours, he noticed the frustration in your usually delicate features and retracted his earlier thoughts.

A sigh left your lips in almost a whisper. Hesitantly, Jungkook raised his hand and interlaced it with your own. Turning towards him, a dust of pink clouded his cheeks as he avoided eye contact with you.

He cleared his throat, still not looking at you.

"Y/n. There's always another way...we can find one if your not comfortable with this one."

Hoseok raised an eyebrow at the boy. It was surprising to him that he had not been selfish at all in the matter. It actually seemed like he cared about your opinion, which threw him for a loop. His eyes grazed the way Jungkook held your hand. It was as if he was afraid that if he squeezed to hard, your fingertips would crack and shatter into a million tiny pieces.

The pang of jealousy that ran through Hoseoks  veins didn't go unnoticed by the hybrid.

Jungkook sat up straight then glanced back to you.

"What do you want to do y/n?" He spoke again, giving your palm a gentle squeeze.

You sighed and ran your fingers through your hair with your free hand. Turning to Hoseok you nodded.

"Ok. Let do it."

Hoseok had scheduled a meeting with Jimin in your apartment for the next day. After your friend set it up, he left, making sure to give you a sweet reassuring hug. Glaring at the hybrid, he gave you an extra squeeze, a warning to the cat, which he read loud and clear.

"Thank you Hobi. I knew I could count on you." You said pulling away.

He smiled and pat your hair gently. "Of course. I'll check up with you in the morning." He glanced back at Jungkook one last time before yelling a quick goodbye and closing the door.

Releasing a breath you didn't realize you were holding, you walked back to Jungkook, sitting next to him.

You both sat in a comfortable silence for a few minutes before he turned to you. Looking up at him, you saw the concern in his features, also noticing the coy way his tail shifted back and forth behind him.

"Y/n." He said with darting eyes. "This Jimin guy, is he...I mean you don't like him, obviously, but...what's the reason?"

You liked how blunt the boy was, expecting nothing less from a cat. You sighed at the question and rubbed your arms, trying to avoid his eyes.

The action didn't go unnoticed, as Jungkook delicately placed his hands on either of your shoulders. Stoping your movements, you looked up at him only to be met with worried eyes.

You couldn't explain how Jungkook could make you feel so safe with just a look. Maybe it had something to do with his large cat eyes, or maybe it was the gentle yet protective grip he had on your shoulders. All you knew is that whatever it was, it was what you wanted and needed at this very moment.

You smiled softly at him, taking his hands into yours. He became flustered at the action, only for a slight moment before composing himself again.

"Do you mind if we talk about it tomorrow? It's late and it's a long story."

He nodded understandingly, squeezing your hands as an extra way of assuring you that he understood. He could see the dark bags beginning to form under your usually bright eyes, and your normally delightful expression tire under his gaze.

You smiled again saying a quick goodnight, heading off to bed.

It was now 3:48 in the morning and Jungkook still couldn't sleep.

He had been tossing and turning for the past few hours, not being able to get comfortable. The anxiety of tomorrow definitely got to him. He didn't know if it was about meeting Jimin, someone he could already tell he didn't like, or maybe it had to do with how you would react to seeing him. To top it all off the jerk had to help him.

Jungkook felt anxious, contemplating his next actions for the next few minutes before saying "fuck it," and dragged him and his tail over to your room.

The door was slightly open. He took that as an invitation, allowing himself into your space.

Sniffing the air, he realized it smelt like you. Butterscotch, his absolute favorite. He had found a stash one day while you were away at work and ate the whole box, after which he got scolded by you. Totally worth it though.

You must have had a candle or lotion or something, because he found the smell covered the whole room.

Slowly making his way over to you, he noticed the way you hugged the pink bunny plushy you had in your clutch, to which he scoffed. He hated bunnies. He hated most animals really, he was a cat after all.

He grabbed the stuffed animal from you arms and threw it across the room with a triumphant huff as it bounced off of your wall onto the floor with a soft thud. You stirred a bit before slowly opening one eye and then the other.

Jungkook froze, ears sticking straight up. He hadn't thought this far. What was he thinking coming to your room in the middle of the night? What was he going to accomplish by waking you from your blissful dreams?

Before he could make a beeline to your door, he felt a grip on his sleeve. "Jungkook? What's the matter baby?"

He swore his heart stopped for a second. Your voice was a bit raspy from your sleep, and you were talking in a whisper, but he could have sworn you had just called him baby.

The cat became flustered. He was glad it was the middle of the night so you wouldn't be able to see the light shade of pink that dusted his cheeks.

"Umm I... I couldn't sleep. Im bothering you, I'm sorry for waking you I'll go-" He was cut off by another hand tugging at the other end of his long sleeve night shirt.

"Don't be silly Kookie, you could never bother me. Come." You said sliding back in your bed making room for him to jump in.

Chills ran down the cats spine all the way through his tail. Kookie? What's with the cute nickname? And you want him to sleep with you? In the same bed? You weren't his mate, but you were the closest thing he had to a female friend so he didn't know how to feel. Wasn't it weird to do that? He thought his face probably looked like a dark red rose at this point.

He gulped, going against his better judgment, he slowly dragged his feet towards the side of your bed. Looking at your face for any sign of hesitation, he sat down at the edge of the mattress when he couldn't find any. After a look of encouragement, he slid in facing you, as you helped pull the covers over him.

The spot he laid in was warm from your body previously being there. As his head hit the pillow, the intoxicating scent he had smelled before only became stronger. He nuzzled his nose into the soft fabric more to get a better wiff. Sighing contently, he began to close his eyes almost forgetting your were there. That is until a small hand began to run its fingers through his midnight colored follicles, almost gently grazing his ears that had gone stiff.

"Don't worry Kookie, I won't let anything happen to you." You said in your meek voice. You knew. You knew he was feeling scared and weak and confused.

Jungkook all of a sudden felt venerable under your gaze. In the short time you've know him, you had managed to slowly break down walls he didn't ever want to show you. He didn't want to be weak in front of you. He didn't want to be a burden to you. He only wanted to be able to protect you, since you had done the same. The natural instincts he was born with told him so, but, at this very moment when his deep breaths turn into quiet tears, the only thing he allowed to happen was for your small frame to pull him close and cradle his now slightly shaking figure.

The muscular arms that have predominately shown you veins stretching from the felines slender fingers up to his bicep, were slowly making their way around your waistline, very delicately yet urgently. Your arms cradled his head as your left hand slowly raked through his hair, starting at his neck, while your other had softly fondled one of his ears, to which he let out a content purr.

His tail found its way around your leg, securely fastening it around the bare skin.

"You know Jungkook, I don't know what you've been through exactly, but, I know what it's like to feel alone. I grew up in an orphanage, remember?"

He had in fact forgot. But now, what you were saying made complete sense.

"I felt alone and unwanted. My real family had left me for good. I didn't want to trust anyone and any situation that came my way, I proceeded with extreme caution. No one would talk to me because I was so quiet. They thought I was weird, so I pushed myself away even more. Until I met my older brother."

Jungkooks breaths began to slow down as he listened to your calming voice.

"He wasn't really my brother, but he had reached out to me and he promised to protect me and be my friend. And he did. I didn't want him to but he was just so pushy. He wouldn't leave me alone."

You laughed at the memory. Slowly, you brought the hand that was petting the back of Jungkooks neck and caressed his face, pulling it towards yours so you were eye level.

Through his slightly puffy eyes, he was able to see your calm ones clearly and vividly. The feline nodded slightly, signaling you to continue your story.

"After a while I began to trust him. And he introduced me to his friends who later became my friends. If he hadn't done that...I don't know how I would be today. Probably alone and untrusting as I alway was."

Jungkook didn't fail to notice the distant look in your eyes. To his surprise, it was more one of fondness then confusion.

"My point is, Jungkook," you started, looking back at him. "No matter what you've been through, if you don't let people reach their hand out to you, your going to live the rest of your life without knowing what is feels like to trust. To love."

He listened to your words intently, understanding them more then he would like to.

"The only reason I let Hoseok call Jimin even though I don't like him so much, is because Hoseok says he trusts him. Hoseok would never do me wrong. I trust him with my life. That's how I know things are going to work out. So please Jungkook. Trust me."

His eyes were glazed as they evaded yours. He was scared. You knew that, but, you had hoped he could finally find solstice in you. You wanted to help him. Genuinely. You hoped he could see that and learn to trust you completely.

"You and I are alike." His words surprised you. His arms around you became tighter as he nuzzled his nose into your chest.

"I'm sorry for everything. I trust you I promise. I promise." He ended with silent whispers.

You could only softly smile as your fell asleep in each others warm embrace.
