Note: Wrote this a year ago. Unless I coincidentally stumble upon another one of my poems from long before, this will probably be the last poem for this series.

Stifled Sentiments has been my project since the start of high school, and so many years have already passed. So many things have already happened since then. Naturally, the story behind this collection has already run its course, and it's time to turn a new chapter.

Anyways, enjoy!

It's been a decade
Since I knew
I loved you
To the moon and back.

It's been five years
Since you told me
You secretly
Yearned for a man.

I saw it coming,
But I thought of staying.
'Cause you were kind,
It wouldn't sting
As much as it does now.

If I had my way,
I'd marry you in a heartbeat any day.
I would sing all the words and feelings
I have long refused to say.

But the guy with the red hair
And the vacant stare -
He claimed he fell in love with you
In a way nobody could.

I was tired,
I was twisted,
If letting go made you happy,
I would.

It's been five years
Since I told you
I loved you
More than I should have had.

But lately
He said to me
You got frisky
In the hotel way back.

I saw it coming,
But I thought of staying.
'Cause you were kind,
It wouldn't sting
As much as it does now.

If I had my way,
I'd marry you in a heartbeat any day.
I would sing all the words and feelings
I have long refused to say.

But the guy with red hair
And the vacant stare -
He claimed he fell in love with you
In a way nobody could.

I was tired,
I was twisted,
If letting go made you happy,
I would.
