Voy. Tom Paris - Christmas Surprise

A/N: Pregnant, female reader

You snuggled yourself against Tom's side, sighing in content as the holographic fire warmed you both. There were empty mugs of hot chocolate sitting on the coffee table, and instrumental holiday music was playing quietly in the background. The lights of the Christmas tree twinkled in the corner of the living room, illuminating the small stack of presents underneath.

Tom had gotten Harry to help him create a holodeck program for the two of you to enjoy. It was a small house that you and Tom had spoken about building when you made it back to Earth. Not if, when. You and Tom were always very optimistic that you'd one day have a future together on Earth. It was sometimes the only thing to get you through the day.

You had no idea that Tom was going to make a holographic version of it, though. You two had planned on celebrating Christmas together, and he had told you to join him for a date on the holodeck—and to bring the presents. When he brought you onto the holodeck, you nearly wept in joy. You loved that man so much and the fact that he was willing to do this for you meant that he truly did love you, too. Which made you feel a heck of a lot less nervous about what you had to tell him.

"I can't wait for this to be real," Tom mused, the orange glow of the fire casting shadows on his face.

You smiled up at him. "This is as real as it needs to be right now."

He returned the smile and gave your lips a gentle kiss. "I know. I just wish we were really back on Earth in our home."

You nodded, biting down on your lip softly. "We might have to adjust the house plans."

"Why?" Tom asked, raising an eyebrow. "Do you not like it now that you're seeing it?"

You shook your head. "No, no, I love it. It's just... it might be a little small."

He smiled. "We can change it however you want."

You smiled but tried to hide the nervousness from it. Now was your chance to tell him.

"Y/N, I want to ask you something," Tom said. You realized that he sounded nervous.

You nodded for him to continue.

"I just want to make sure that you really do feel the same way about me as I feel about you," he said, making eye contact with you. His blue eyes searched yours. "I love you, Y/N. More than anything or anyone. And I want this house to be real. I want us to grow old in it. I want us to spend the rest of our lives together."

Your mouth fell open. Was this what you thought it was?

Tom reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box. When he opened it, a ring glittered inside. "I want to marry you."

Your eyes filled with tears. "Tom..."

"Will you be my wife?" he asked quietly.

You blinked and the tears rolled down your cheeks. You laughed then. "You think I'd plan out a whole house with someone I didn't want to spend the rest of my life with?"

Tom grinned widely. "Well, I didn't want to assume... So is that a yes?"

Eagerly, you nodded. "Of course it's a yes!"

He slipped the ring onto your finger and then kissed you passionately. You cupped his cheek in your hand and smiled against his lips. He then rested his forehead against yours.

"I love you," he murmured.

"I love you, too," you replied. You pulled away to look at him. "We'll have to have the wedding sooner rather than later."

Tom's brow furrowed. "Why?"

You took in a deep breath. "Because soon, I won't fit into my dress uniform."

His brow furrowed harder, then his eyes widened. "Y/N, are you—"

You nodded quickly and took his hand, placing it over your stomach. "I'm pregnant."

Tom laughed excitedly. "You're serious? You're actually pregnant?"

"Yes! I'm six weeks along. Doc confirmed it," you told him excitedly, happy to finally be telling him. Granted, you had only found out yesterday, but it had been a struggle not to blurt it out. You had just both been so busy that you hadn't found the right moment to tell him. But what better moment than right after a proposal?

"Oh my God," he whispered, looking down at your stomach. "A baby. We're going to be parents."

You grinned as more tears fell down your cheeks. "Soon we'll have a little family."

Tom looked back up at you and smiled from ear to ear. "You're going to be a terrific mom."

"And you're going to be an amazing dad," you replied.

He kissed you quickly. "We're definitely going to have to redesign this house. Make a nursery. Maybe a playroom."

You smiled and lay your head on his shoulder. "We have plenty of time to figure it out."

Tom wrapped his arm around your shoulders and kissed the top of your head. "A baby," he whispered, still in disbelief.

You nodded slowly. "A baby. Our baby."
