Chapter 16: Confusion

June 13
Washington Monument
1130 hours

Yesterday, when they had asked me I was relatively unsure what to do. I knew I couldn't merely  sit around waiting for Erica to wake up, knowing that the argument would be blasted in full force again. So, I had told them that first thing in the morning we would search where the helicopter landed, seeing if Cyrus, Alexander, and Catherine were okay. However, my plan wasn't thought out, and when we had slept on the ground in a narrow passageway, Erica had woken up before us, angry that Jawa sedated her. She was even more angry at me (quite furious) for taking things in my own hands. When she'd woken me up,  she was about to slug me when I told her my plan. She couldn't do anything but agree, because she was eager to find if her family was okay, and even though this plan was supposed to be set in the daytime, it was 11 30 at night and we were hijacking a car.
"Aren't we breaking like 10 laws?" Mike asked as we sped off  to the opposite direction we'd parachuted. "Its for the sake of the CIA." Erica replied. "Oh now you care for the sake of the CIA." I croaked from the passenger seat. Erica sped through the road  and came upon a huge, abandoned alleyway with parts of the helicopter. But nobody was there. "I don't understand." Erica grew worried for her family. "They can't be,  they, I, SPYDER couldn't." A put a hand on Erica's shoulder as she grew somber. Jawa and Mike were silent, then Mike picked up a peice of evidence."Guys! A note!" Mike shouted. Everyone, especially Erica, rushed over to him. The note read:

To my surprise
We have survived
Although we strive a place where those are demised
Search far and wide for not underground
I know your skills will lead you to a mound
Once there you'll see a shovel
If too late, there will be trouble

"What does that mean?" Jawa asked when Mike was finished reading. "I don't know, the first clue was where those are demised." "Like a coffin?" I don't know." I replied to Mike. "Freeze!" someone hissed. I spun around.

Four cops, four guns, four spies running.
