Part 70 | Frostbite

"I am not drinking that."

"Hey you lost Mister it's the rules!"

Bucky folded his arms stubbornly, glaring at you. "That looks nauseating."

"Smells like it too" You grinned, wrinkling your nose at the scent. "Don't be a wuss Barnes, you entered tonight's betting fully aware of what could happen."

"None of your potions have made noises!" He replied indignantly.

The team all looked down at the potion filled shot glass you were holding, the nasty orange liquid growing and snarling while bubbling away.

"I do see your point there" Loki smirked "However, you did sign a waiver."

"I did no such thing!"

You grinned. "Remember that birthday card for my Dad?"

"Yea- oh no" he groaned, burying his face in his hands. "He's dead..."

"Ding ding ding!" You called out triumphantly, flicking your wrist so transform the card into a waiver of rights about your potion night. "We also don't give credit on birthdays, that's a human thing."

"What do you do then?" Tony asked.

"Carve out your eyes and sew buttons into them."

"Stop watching Coraline!"

"No."

Loki snickered, taking the shot glass out of your hand and sliding it across the table. "Drink up soldier."

Bucky groaned, eyeing the snarling liquid suspiciously before sighing and downing it in one gulp.

Everyone leant forward eagerly, waiting to see what would happen.

Bucky waited for a moment, before grinning. "Nothing happened. You must have messed it up."

Loki glared at him. "She never makes an incorrect potion."

"Wait for it!" You sang out, grinning proudly as you sat down beside Loki.

Suddenly Bucky flopped out of his chair, landing on the floor with a loud smack.

"Jelly potion!" You announced, dancing around to the other side of the table to see Bucky shaking on the floor.

"Well done darling" Loki grinned, walking up behind you and placing his hands on your waist as the team laughed.

"I hate you" Bucky groaned as he shook on the floor, his voice trembling. "How long does this last for??"

"A few days" you shrugged, leaning back against Loki with a grin. "It'll wear off eventually."

"Unfair!"

"Come on Buck" Steve chuckled, picking his boyfriend up and placing him on the couch.

"Oh look N/n! There's still a drop left!" Pietro exclaimed, picking up the shot glass and holding it out to you.

"And?"

"I dare you to drink it!"

"No thank you."

He looked confused. "But you never say no to your own potions."

You shrugged. "I hate the jelly one. It sucks."

"Thanks a lot" Bucky complained, swearing at Sam as the hero bounced him around like a bouncy ball. "Cut it out pigeon!"

The Falcon shook his head gleefully, batting the super soldier around as Steve chased after them.

"My brother is right" Wanda noted, looking over at you. "You always try any left over potion. And you certainly never turn down a dare."

Nat grimaced at you from behind her whiskey glass as the team turned to look at you curiously.

"I just don't feel like it" you replied innocently.

Even Loki looked concerned. "Are you okay my love?"

"Of course, why wouldn't I be?"

Half of the team shrugged and turned back to watching the spectacle that was Sam, Bucky and Steve.

However, a few eyes lingered suspiciously.

"Bruce, Nat, Wanda, Stark, avert your eyes before I rip them out of your head and bottle them for next weeks potion night" you threatened, Nat mouthing a 'hurry up' to you before they all looked away.

Loki turned you gently in his arms, looking down at you in concern. "They're right you know. You've never said no to a dare, and you've always said that you never make potions that you wouldn't drink yourself."

"What's your point?"

"Well you've proven that last statement to be true many times."

"Where are you heading with this?"

A cold finger lifted your chin up to look at him. "What's wrong my darling?"

You sighed, taking his hand and leading him out of the room.

You teleported the two of you to your bedroom, beginning to pace nervously.

"Darling what happened?" Loki fretted, watching you pace. "Are you injured? Ill? I can find medicines across them realms, my Mother knows many people who can help-"

"No no no love I'm not sick it's okay" you reassured, taking his hands in yours.

He breathed a sigh of relief, kissing your temple softly. "Thank the Norns. Is whatever troubling you bad?"

"I don't think so... I hope not."

His brow furrowed as he looked down at you in confusion. "What's wrong my love?"

"You love Idun right?" You questioned worriedly.

"Of course" he smiled, still looking confused. "I would never admit that to the team of course, but I love her dearly."

"KNEW IT!" A voice crackled through the speakers.

"Stank you fucking asshole!" You shouted, conjuring a large rock and pegging it at the ceiling. "How my times have we told you to stop putting cameras in here?!"

Loki laughed softly as you jumped up, ripping the camera wires out of the wall.

"Dickhead" you muttered, grabbing Loki's hand and teleporting the two of you to a near by park. "I can't stand him listening in to everything around the tower."

Loki conjured a heavy coat, passing it to you as you brushed some snow off the park bench and sat down.

"Thanks" you smiled, putting it on as he sat beside you, tucking you under his arm. "I love peoples reactions to you not wearing any cold weather clothing in winter."

Loki smirked as passers by all did a double take at the sight of Loki sitting casually in a black shirt and jeans. "Weaklings."

"Ahem."

"Not you love."

"Good."

"Now, what is it that you're so worried about telling me?" He asked, looking down at you, running a hand gently over your shoulder. "You can tell me anything my love."

You nodded slowly before taking a deep breath and muttering, "Just do it like a Band-Aid."

"Pardon?"

"You know, doing something like a Band-Aid? Just ripping it all off in one go?"

"What's a Band-Aid?"

"Never mind" you chuckled, kissing his cheek. "Alright. Loki Laufeyson."

"Y/n Laufeyson" he smiled.

You took a deep breath before looking down. "I'm pregnant."

There was silence for a little too long, making you to look up in worry. "Lokes?"

He suddenly leaned forward, pressing his lips against yours as his hands cup your cheeks.

"You're pregnant?" He whispered, smiling widely as he leant forehead against yours.

"You're not mad?"

"Mad?" He asked incredulously, kissing all over your face softly as he smiled. "Why in the Norns would I be mad my love?"

He kissed you again softly, tucking your head under his chin as he held you close, running his hands gently up and down your back. "Darling tho only thing I could ever love as much as you would be our child, and while I used to worry that I don't know how to look after a child, Idun has proved myself wrong. I want nothing more than to start a family with you."

You sighed in relief, hugging him tightly with a laugh. "We're going to be parents Lokes! I can't believe we're going to be parents!"

He laughed happily, pulling you into his lap and kissing you again, leaning his head on your shoulder. "How long have you known darling?"

"A couple of months..."

"Love, you don't ever have to hide anything from me" he reminded you, running a hand over your cheek. "I'm frustrated with myself that I didn't notice."

"I'm surprised you didn't" you chuckled as he placed his hands gently on your stomach. "You noticed Idun's heartbeat quite early."

"Mortal babies heartbeats are quite different" he answered with a smile. "I'll have to do some reading, and my Mother knows a lot about it."

"I'm sure she does" you smiled, kissing his cheek. "Now let's get back inside before I get frostbite."
