POV TOUYA

"Three years, huh?" I chuckle, holding my arms out at my sides. "How many days has it been, Birdie?"

"Eighty four days," Keigo answers with a small giggle. His chest is pressed against my back; his legs are wrapped tightly around my waist, and his arms are wrapped around my shoulders like a scarf. I'm tightrope walking across two abandoned buildings, since the two of us really have nothing better to do. We're in an quirkless town in South Korea, surrounded by poor people with boring jobs. There aren't any heroes around here, but it's more unsettling than anything else. These people are just so defenseless. There's no rule saying quirkless people have to be here, but they know that as soon as they leave, they'll be hit with a tidal wave of power that they can't even begin to compete with.

I keep my head up as I walk, looking at the sunset before me. It's a bit smoggy but still decently pretty.

Keigo flaps his wings, flying a large feather out to cover my eyes. I teeter on the rope, my boots slipping just a bit. If I fall from this height, it's certain death. But Keigo has his wings back, and I know he'll catch me.

We're together now, though very unofficially. I've been trying to avoid the conversation. Keigo has not.

"You owe me a conversation, Mr. Staples," Keigo pouts, jabbing me in the side with a feather. I gasp because my fractured ribs still hurt a shit ton, even though Recovery Girl did do a lot to help. Keigo mutters an apology, but I just tell him to zip it. I don't want pity. "But I'm serious. We ended on a really bad note, and I want to talk about it. This running away thing is serious now. We need to be able to work together."

"No need," I say through gritted teeth. "You and I have 'chemistry' or whatever you wanna call it. I'll protect you from everything bad, and you'll save my life if I screw up. 'Nough said."

"No," Keigo groans. "No, that's not how it's supposed to be! We're going to have to stick together for the next three years, all alone, and I want us to actually trust each other."

"You don't trust me?" I say with a teasing smirk. Keigo rolls his eyes.

"You said you were going to kill my friends, Touya."

"I had a change of heart," I say smugly. "We can keep the loud one and the homeless one, but the rest got to go."

Keigo glares at me, and I know I'm pushing it, but I really don't want to have this talk right now. As soon as I get to the other building, I'm gonna see if Keigo can fly us to the nearest liquor shop. "Please, Touya," Keigo pleads, dropping his head on my shoulder. I pause, feeling my arms tremble. I haven't seen him cry since we left on this adventure, and I forgot how heartbreaking his voice sounds when he does. "I don't want to be setting myself up for disaster all over again. Just... Please, talk to me."

I stay silent until I reach the other building. Keigo slides off my back, trembling as he watches me. I use my quirk to burn the rope, and Keigo tosses his crossbody bag down on the dusty rooftop. Neither of us care about cleanliness anymore. I grab his hand gently, pulling us to the ground in the center beside the trapdoor. Keigo's staring at me, trying to dissect me, I bet, but I'm not giving him anything more than the basics.

At least, I hope. I don't know how much I can hide from those golden eyes.

"You dumb bitch," I blurt out without thinking. It's the spark to my word vomit, and from here I know there's no stopping. "I was trying to protect you, Keigo! If they're gone, nobody can hurt you. I don't trust anyone but me to keep you safe, but I guess that was dumb, and I'm... I... fucking hell, I'm sorry. It's not right for me to shove my opinion down your throat like that. I won't kill your friends... well, except Mirko. No promises with her." I chuckle a bit, trying to calm my nerves. I shake my head, pulling my knees up to my chest as if I'm a kid again. My hair has pretty much grown out completely, leaving just my roots black and the rest snow white. I feel weaker than ever, and I hope Keigo doesn't see it.

He takes both of my hands in his own and presses our foreheads together. "Thank you," he breathes, his shoulders bouncing gently with his soft laughter. "I told you that I love you before, but I mean it this time, I really fucking do!"

I shake my head, smiling gently. I will never understand this man, but I'm starting to think that's alright. I rest my hands on either side of his face, inhaling his scent. We're gross and toxic and decaying, but it doesn't matter because it's us against the world. We're the last people on Earth for the next three years.

"And we're so fucking bad for each other," Keigo continues, tears mixing with his laughter. "But it's so addicting. I'm an addict, and you're my drug. I'm not gonna stop taking you until the day I die."

"You're one psychotic bird," I reply, letting my eyes flutter closed. Keigo nods, and I pull him onto my lap and into a deep kiss. He runs his fingers through my hair, and I groan gently. He pulls back to look at me, his eyes glowing in the crisp air. "I don't think I've told you this," I say breathlessly, "But you're fucking gorgeous."

Keigo smirks, pecking me on the lips. "I've heard it. You talk in your sleep."

"Really?" I chuckle, wrapping my arms tighter around his waist. Keigo squeaks and giggles, and I kiss along his neck as he tilts his head up. "So you've heard me tell you I love you," I whisper.

Keigo pauses, pulling back to look me in the eyes. "Wait, what? You what?"

"I love you, Keigo," I whisper, though I'm not really focused on what I'm saying. Every fiber in my body is focused on him. His beautiful red wings, his ratty blonde hair, his piercing golden eyes; how his voice changes pitches so quickly, and how his body twitches when I graze his bare skin. I must be an addict, too, because I can't stop. "I really, really do."

⚠️TW SMUT ⚠️

Keigo immediately connects our lips, taking me by surprise. Here I was thinking things were gonna go slow, but nope. He strips my shirt off then presses my back to the cool rooftop. Rooftop sex is definately a first, but I have no complaints. Keigo goes to unbuckle my jeans, but I partially sit up and stop his hands. "What?" Keigo whines. "I mean, we don't have to, it's just–"

"Hush, birdie," I chuckle, flipping us so he's the one laying back. I lick up his neck then bite softly on his ear. "You'll get what you want, just let me have fun first." I run my hand up his shirt, tracing his nipples, before pulling it over his head. Our clothes act as sheets and the sky is our blanket. The world is ours, and it's far from metaphorical.

"Touya," Keigo whines in my ear as I slide my saliva-coated fingers into him. "Ah, fuck, fuck, fuck!"

"Remember the safe word?" I ask gently. Keigo nods, gripping my shoulders as his face twists with pleasure. I can't help myself. I slide my fingers out slowly and spit on my hand to coat my dick.

"Touya," Keigo breathes. "Touya, you have to p-put it in, please, please, please."

"I will," I chuckle. "I just want you to be comfortable. I want you screaming with pleasure, not pain."

Keigo slings his arms around my neck, pulling me down on top of him so quickly I lose my breath. "I want both," he whispers greedily. "Fuck me, Touya."

My dick is already throbbing when I slide it in. Keigo rakes his fingers through my hair, digging his nails into my skull. He's my nicotine, my cocaine, my heroin. I'm a slave to him, and I can easily say I'd do anything for him. Die for him, live for him, kill for him. Whatever the price, I'll pay it. I push in until my hips hit his ass, devouring the look on his face. "Touya, f-fuck," Keigo whines. "M-move, you can... hah, you can move..."

I pull out slowly, only about halfway, before going in again. The pace is slow at first, but once I'm sliding in and out better, I pick it up. I'm drowning in Keigo's moans. He's just so perfect. "You're so pretty, Kei," I say raspily in his ear. His nails are causing serious damage to my skin, but it's only increasing the pleasure. "Will you be my pretty bird, Keigo? Will you be all mine?"

"Mhm," Keigo hums. "Ah, ah, mmm, y-yes!"

"You're so good, Keigo, you're so fucking good." I can feel ecstasy building in the pit of my stomach as Keigo tightens up around me.

"Cl-close," Keigo blurts between heavy breaths. "Touya, Touya, I'm- ah, f-fuck, I–" I stroke Keigo's dick as he cums, connecting our lips feverishly. I speed up to make myself finish, shooting my load right into his prostate.

⚠️🤙OK, ITS DONE🤙⚠️

Thank god it's night time because I'm carrying Keigo, with both of our clothes and shoes in his bag, through the streets. In the backyard of a decent home, there's a fancy, in-ground pool. Smirking, I burn through the gate and approach it. Keigo's awake, but he's pretty limp because of all the... exercise. I help him into the water, and he squeaks at how cold it is. "Shhh," I say softly. "We can't let these rich assholes know we're using their pool, Birdie."

"But Touya," Keigo cries. "It's cold and my butt hurts."

"I know, darling, but we gotta get clean," I tell him. Keigo hums in defeat, letting himself sink underwater. I run my fingers through his hair, detangling it and getting the dirt out. He does the same to mine, and the rest of my black dye comes out with the dirt. I run my hands down his body, trying to get him clean, but we end up splashing each other and making a ruckus.

"What the hell are you hooligans doing in my pool?!" screams an old man as he hobbles out of his house. Keigo and I curse, laughing hysterically as we stumble out of the water. "Get back here, damn it! I'll have your heads for this!" Keigo and I can't keep in our laughter as we grab our stuff. Keigo gets on my back and propels us upward with our wings as I shove our clothes into his little crossbody bag. I drop a sock, and it lands in the pool, making the old man scream until his lungs basically give out.

Keigo drops us off at the top of another building, one much less tall. We're gasping for breath, exhausted and full of adrenaline. "Did you see his face?!" Keigo howls with laughter. "Oh my god, he looked like the lorax!" I can't even catch my breath to form a proper sentence.

When the laughter dies out, we put our clothes back on and use my jacket as a blanket. We cuddle close together for warmth and because I can't stand the feeling of not having him in my arms. The stars appear and disappear–either that, or I'm delirious, which is likely. Sleep comes and goes, and when the sun is up again, Keigo and I are already planning where to go next. He wants to go to Taiwan, and the Philippines, and then over to Europe to hit Greece, Italy, and the UK. "Maybe Canada and the U.S.," he adds, kissing me on the temple.

"I'll take you anywhere you wanna go," I tell him. "Just say the word."

I hope these three years never end.
