Xavier~

Crack. Grunt. Crack. My bones felt out of place for some time. Every time I phase my pain decreases. Unlike all the other fairy tales some people read, werewolves don’t have to phase every single day.

Max amount of times that I have shifted in a month is 10 but that’s because I am an Alpha. Our guards that check the boarder change shifts when needed.

As I got closer to the ware house I could sense something off.  My paws hit the grass with longer strides to get closer. Slowly I came to a halt. Rogues.

My wolf growled. Perking up my ears I listened for sound. Nothing. Another growl rippled through my chest. Something was definitely wrong.

Sniffing the air again since I was closer my senses ignited to a new level. Their was a faint sent of James. That wasn’t the thing that bothered me. Then I felt it.

The slight orange tang that always lingered around one of the closest people I knew was in the air. Carter. My wolf let out a vicious growl as I sprinted across the woods to the ware house.

The old screws holding the hinges together broke easily as I crashed through the door. Panicked I looked for any sign of Carter. I should have known this was a set up. My eyes darted around the abandoned warehouse.

Their seemed to be no sense of life around. Quietly I walked further in. “Xavier!” Quickly spinning around I turned around to find a surprised looking Carter staring at me.

Quickly shifting I ran to him. “Carter what the hell are you doing here?” I checked him to see if he was hurt in any way. “Great you’re both here.” I turned around to face a happy looking James.

He threw me a pair of basketball shorts to wear. Quickly pulling them on I step forward to protect my beta. This was my battle to fight.

Growling I spoke, “What the hell do you want?” Telepathically I sent troops to guard the pack house which currently held my beloved mate and little sister.

“I have some information you both might want to know.” He pulled out three pull out chairs and sat down on one of them. His Armenia Suite crinkled as he took a seat.  Turning around I glared at Carter.

“Why didn’t you tell me you were coming to meet him?” I couldn’t believe Carter would betray me like this. His eyes instantly hardened as he growled out to defend himself.

“I had no idea that it was your dad. All I got was a letter two nights ago telling me to meet someone at this ware house to tell me who killed my parents.” My anger disappeared as I listened.

He wanted to know who killed his parents. “Enough!” I spun back around to face James. “Now now now James wouldn’t want me to snap the necks of your precious Rouge Pack.” James leaned back on the chair staring at me amused.

“Let’s just say they are protection. And know about your precious little Sasha so you wouldn’t want to anger me.” My anger flared through the roof as he talked about Sasha as some rag doll.

Stalking up to him I was ready to punch before something pulled me back. It was Carter. He gave me a look saying it wasn’t worth it. Sasha and Lacey’s lives were on the line.

Calling the pack members through my head I told them to have double protection in and out of the house. Sitting down on chair I faced James with Carter right beside me.

I don’t think I would have been able to control myself if Carter wasn’t sitting next to me. “Let’s cut to the chase. Shall we?” Both of us nodded our heads ready. I started off my getting Carter informed about what had been in the letter James sent me.

“Basically the only reason we are the biggest pack in the U.S. is because my parents weren’t real mates, but both Alphas. Now James’s real mate’s pack have revenge on us.” What I had said sounded so simple and easy to understand, but to find this out only a week ago was a lot to take in.

Carter took a minute to fully understand what I had said and when he did his eyes held sympathy. I shook my head in a stubborn manner. I will not be sympathized upon. “What my son says is all true.”

I shot a glare at James when he said son. I wasn’t that much in grief to finally forgive him for what he had done. He had left the whole pack on me when I was only eleven! I had been trained by my pack, the elders helped build me up to the Alpha I was now.

They all were like real fathers to me. They loved me no matter what. “What does this have to do with my parents then?” I looked curiously at James, what Carter had said was true. What had any of this had to do with Carter’s parents?

James looked at us with sad grey eyes. “It was revenge on the Alpha King, just a warning.” I looked at James confused. What revenge? Who was the Alpha King? What was just a warning?

Questions swirled in my mind creating a tremor. “James who exactly is the Alpha King and what does it have to do with Carter and I?”

James gave a slight grin before speaking, “My son. I never thought I would be telling you this here, and now, but you my son are the Alpha King. And the ones who are trying to go to war with you, is my true mate’s father, Benedict.”

My heart stuttered as I fully comprehended what James had just said. Only five words rang in my head. It was like a flashing alarm going and going. I am the Alpha King.
