Chapter 38 (Edited)

Skylar P.OV

Patience is the hardest thing in the world. I have a limited amount of patience and I am slowly running out of it. The guys and I were all armed and ready to take out Valentin. We all surrounded the isolated house in the middle of nowhere. I have to admit the house was truly beautiful. It was one of those smooth stone houses that looked welcoming and warm. Such a shame it was going to be destroyed in a few.

We are finally going to take his guy down once and for all. Some of the guys pushed up and hid in the bushes and behind the trees. I watched the windows of the house waiting for some type of movement. "Snipers, any movements?" I spoke into my collar that had a wireless talkie. "Negative," I heard Cody's voice come through.

"He should be here. His car is in the garage," Justin spoke. I looked around to see the guys ready to rush in. I looked back at the house and studied it for a moment. My stomach started to turn in a nauseating motion.

"Something's not right," I informed them.

"Incoming 1 car 200 feet away," Ethan blurted out. I turned my head and looked through the bushes to see a black BMW heading to the house. "Everyone stand down and stay hidden," I mumbled.

I heard some shuffle and felt a presence next to me. "You're not supposed to be here," I spoke without removing my eyes from the car.

"But you said I could tag along," I heard a disappointed voice. I looked to my right to see Lucifer frowning.

"I meant you're supposed to be near Ethan," I said, rolling my eyes before looking back at the car.

"He's boring me and we need to talk about something," he softly spoke with a hint of sadness.

I covered his mouth as the car came to a final stop, 50 feet away from me. "You chose now to talk?" I whispered and watched as the car parked in the driveway.

"Run those car plates and tell me who that is" I spoke into the collar. "On it," Mason replied.

My hand was then placed down. "I don't know when it's the perfect time to tell you," Lucifer mumbled.

I looked at him in curiosity. "What are you talking about?"

He gave another sigh, "You know how much I love you and I would spend my whole life with you but, I'm le-" I place my finger up causing him to stop talking.

"It's a man in the car. There is no one else. He goes by the name of Neon. I don't know so don't ask. He's in his late 20s and he has his own gang. I found nothing relating to him and Valentin except that they were rivals. I don't know what he is doing here. For all we know, if they are rivals then they may try to kill each other," Mason's voice came through.

I watched as Valentin walked out of the house and into the car holding a suitcase. "Everyone hold your fire. Get me ears on what's happening in that car," I demanded.

"Like I was saying," Lucifer started to capture my attention. "I'm le-"

"I got ears," Flexi called in.

"Give me one reason why I shouldn't shoot you right here and now," the Neon guy hissed.

Valentin laughed, "I can give you two my old friend. Number one, you will get your car dirty and two, I am paying off my debt."

"I do like my car. So tell me, why are you doing this now," Neon asked.

"I'm in a bit of trouble and I'm pretty sure I can't get out of this one."

"Ahh, your work has finally caught up to you," Neon laughed.

"Indeed. I must get going now. I have a flight to catch," he replied.

"It's a shame this person gets to kill you and not me," Neon joked. "You still have time," Valentin teased before exiting the car. I watched as he stood in the driveway as the car pulled off.

"Sniper, take your shot but don't kill him yet," I spoke.

Not seconds away, I watched as the blood splattered on the wall behind him from being shot in the shoulder. His body dropped to the ground and I emerged out of the bushes and walked up to him.

He groaned in pain as he clenched his shoulders. "You," he spoke as soon as he saw me.

"Yes me," I smiled. "Did you think we would never find you?"

He released a laugh, "I was expecting you to show up hours later and once you step foot inside, the whole place was going to blow."

"Sucks for you," I smirked and stood in front of him. "Call the President and tell him to meet us back at the mansion tomorrow," I said looking at James who nodded and pulled out his phone before walking off.

I cracked my neck and Valentin smirked at me. "You know your powers wouldn't work here. I have a force field up."

I raised an eyebrow. "Who said I was going to use my powers?" I asked while pulling out my pistol. "I heard this hurt a lot more," I said before shooting him in the leg and crouching down in front of him.

He let out a scream and I couldn't care less. Normally I would end it with one shot but he didn't deserve that.

"Be thankful I'm ending your life here and now instead of gutting you like the pig you are," I spat as I waved my pistol at him.

"Get a good look at my face and my brothers' faces," I gestured to the guys behind me, "You took our parents away. You deserve so much worse."

"Killing me wouldn't bring them back," he forced out in paint as he tried to stop himself from bleeding out.

I nodded, "I know. We've come to peace with that. It also means you can't harm anyone else. So long mother fucker," I smirked before I stood up and shot him between the eyes.

I watched as his body became lifeless and more blood started to pour out of him. "Mission completed. Head back to the house, clean up, and then we'll head home boys," I spoke into my collar.

"Copy that. Your car is just down the road to the right," Gabe's voice came through.

I turned around to see Lucifer looking shocked. "What?" I shrugged as I started heading to the car. He ran up to me and then started to walk next to me. "Nothing. I just haven't really seen this side of you," he mumbled.

"Ohh... what did you want to talk about?"

"Uhh... I'm leaving," he slowly spoke. I felt my heart stop for a second and I turned to look at him.

"I have my own to take care of and they need me," he explained while cupping my face. I cracked a small smile, "It's okay. I understand. We can still keep in touch."

I watched as a frown took a place on his face. "Right?" I whispered.

He shook his head. "I can't stay in contact with you. It's too dangerous," he said, pulling me closer.

I pushed him back and looked at him. "I'm guessing we can't see each other anymore as well," I yelled in disbelief.

He stayed silent and I felt like I was a glass being shattered to pieces. "Sky I'm sorry. I -"

"No. I understand you would have to leave but seriously no contact at all? What type of bullshit is that? You know what it's fine," I angrily spat while starting to walk toward the car.

"Sky-"

"No. You should have never shown up and never saved me," I yelled without looking at him. I felt tears rolling down my face and I quickly wiped them away.

"I'm so sorry," he mumbled while hugging me. I tried to push him off me but he just held on more.

"Please don't leave me," I cried into his chest as he held me

"I'm sorry," he whispered into my hair.
