Chapter 10 (Edited)

Our 2 hours were up and I had taught Trent the basics since he was a bit slow due to his injured hand. Everyone was going to fight except Gabe since he had combat for killing. The 14 of us were now choosing a name out of the box of who we were going to fight. The half of us waited our turn to pick a name before the fighting began.

"Your turn," James said shaking the box filled with folded papers.

I pulled out a paper and looked to see who I was fighting. "You've got to be kidding me," I groaned in annoyance. James gave me a curious look and I showed him my paper. He burst out laughing and moved on.

As the fights went on, I started drinking a monster. Trent was now fighting against James. Poor Trent. James was kicking his butt big time. You could see blood coming out of Trent's mouth.

"I don't think that was a fair match for Trent," Ethan said sitting down next to me.

"Remember when James had to fight Gabe?" I chuckled.

"They both had each other in a headlock and then had to stop the fight before Gabe broke James's neck," Ethan laughed. He then took my monster and drank some.

I rolled my eyes, "You know there's more in the fridge, right?"

"True but I never drink it out and besides you're up next," he gestured to the fighting mat.

I looked over to see Trent tapping out. James stood up and fist-bumped the air in victory. He then helped Trent up to his feet. They did a bro hug and James walked off. I walked onto the boxing floor and let out a sigh.

"Lucifer," I announced the person I was to fight. He looked at me for a minute then stepped up. I didn't want to fight him and I'm pretty sure I couldn't beat him since he was the Devil and all.

We got into a fighting position and circled each other. "Who did you work with?" I asked.

"No one since my partner left me," he growled.

"He asked me. What was I supposed to say?" I threw a punch but he dodged it.

"No! You're supposed to say no!"

"Like you would if you were in my position," I scoffed.

"I would," he spat.

I tackled him to the floor and threw punches. "No...you...wouldn't!" I spat every time I threw a punch.

He flipped me over and stood up. "I am trying really hard not to fight you right now," he admitted in a stern tone.

"Why is that?" I asked, jumping to my feet.

"Because I don't want to. That's all."

"Then tap out," I demanded.

"Never."

I groaned and threw another punch which he caught and pushed me back. "Just fight me."

He let out a sigh and looked at me with a debating expression. "Fine."

He threw a punch but I moved and slipped behind him. I then punched him from the back causing him to turn around. He fakes threw a punch to the right which I dodged but his left punch hit me which caused me to stumble back. I tackled him to the floor and threw punches but he had his hand up defense. My hands were then stopped from punching by his. He had a grip so I couldn't get out.

"Your lip is bleeding," he said looking up at me from the mat.

I now started to taste the salt in my mouth. He then threw me off him and stood up. "Why wouldn't you fight me?"

"I am."

"No, you're not."

"Skylar I just hurt you and I'm not going to hurt you anymore."

I groaned and raised my hand in the air. "Fuck it. I'm out!" I yelled in annoyance as I tapped the mat.

I walked over to Ethan who was handing me my monster. "You okay."

I nodded and sipped on my monster. "It's just a stupid fight," I mumbled.

Trent and his group walked towards me. "We got to go. Thanks for showing us some moves and the pills," Trent smiled.

"No problem. Let me get you some more for your friends," I said standing up.

"No, it's alright. James gave us some," Chase smiled.

"Yeah anyways I was wondering if I could get your number," Trent mumbled.

"Uh, sure."

He passed me his phone and I dialed my number. "Here you go," I said, returning his phone.

"Thanks," he said and shoved it in his pocket.

They all left and I told the guys about the ball party for tomorrow. We all then headed to the shower rooms and took a shower then got dressed. Once we were all dressed we decided to go to Olive Garden for lunch. The day went on pretty quiet. Lucifer end up driving with Justin while I drove with Gabe. Lucifer pretty much avoided me for the rest of the day and I was thankful for that.

Today has been somewhat the most confusing and not to mention the stupidest day of my life. I don't understand why Lucifer wouldn't fight me.

"You okay over there?" Gabe asked as he lowered the music.

I slowly nodded, "I guess. I'm just a bit confused."

"About?"

"Well, you saw what happened when I had to fight Lucifer. He didn't want to fight me at all," I sighed in annoyance.

Gabe glimpsed over at me, "Yeah I saw but why did you want him to fight you so badly? You do know he's the Devil so he might be pretty powerful," he explained.

I nodded, "I get that but it's so frustrating just having him around. We know he's the Devil and he's here to protect me from Godric but he doesn't even tell me anything. I tried to get to know him more but he avoids every question." I looked toward Gabe, "Doesn't it bother you?"

"Bother me?!" he asked rhetorically. "It literally bugs the shit out of me. He literally chased your foster parents out of the house without moving. He just looked at them. I tried getting information from Henry about him but Henry literally has nothing," Gabe admitted.

"See! So you get what I'm feeling now! Even when mom and dad took us to church we were always taught that the Devil was bad but here he is, casually living with us. How are we even supposed to trust him if we don't know anything about him," I ranted.

Gabe rubbed the back of his head, "An excellent point. I would say we could force it out of him somehow but we don't even know what he's capable of. Everything seems too fishy. At least he comes off as a nice person... well demon I should say."

"For now. You know nothing good ever happens in this family," I mumbled, causing Gabe to hum in agreement.
