Tilak/mehndi

Hriday had been correct when he said that Krishna was not the one to follow rules, Krishna broke the rule every night as he sneaked to meet Prema, taking her away with him to Nidhivan and both would spend a lot of quality time together, Radha would sometimes join them but she preferred not to, both of the glad that Radha didn't know what was about to happen like them.
But they could enjoy the peace and happiness while it lasted.
As for our Balram Dau, he had tried to sneak and meet Revathi but had failed desperately as he was caught by Mata Rohini who had given him a huge scolding. But later with the help of Krishna and Hriday, he was able to spend time with his lady love before their marriage.

One week went by,
They would sneak and meet at night but now their wait was coming to an end because today was the day of the Tilak and Mehndi ceremony, in the morning with tilak ceremony would be held and in the evening the mehndi would be held.

the house of Nand Baba was beautifully decorated because, today they would be returning to their home from the house of Radha where they were staying to conduct the ceremonies but now from today till the day of the wedding they would stay in their own house,
The boys were a little sad to be separated from their lady loves but Nand didn't give them even a minute to breathe, early morning nand came and asked them to start getting ready because it was it tilak ceremony and people from the bride's family would be arriving soon.

Today Yashoda Maiya and Rohini Maiya were unable to help both of their sons because they were extremely busy in the kitchen and with decoration work,
So today the boys had to get ready by themselves and they were a little bit relieved because they had been overwhelmed by their Mothers the last few days.

Soon it was time to start the Vidhi,
In this ceremony, the father or eldest brother or uncle of the bride is the one who gives the maiden away.
He brings gifts to the groom's home,
A few things are customary like fruits, grain, clothes, jewellery etc.
Kshatriya or the warrior class giving swords or weapons is also customary,
Atilak is applied on the forehead of the groom, it is an insurance to the family of the bride that the daughter will be forever cared for, it is also a symbol that the bride's family wholeheartedly accept that soon-to-be son-in-law.
This ritual generally does not include the bride or her mother.

The tilak ceremony began,
Krishna and Balram were seated on beautifully decorated chairs,
Yashoda Maiya requested Raja kakudmi
To start the ritual for Balram as he was the eldest, the king first placed the Tilak on the head of Balram and then started presenting him with various gifts,
Finally, a big plate was brought in which confused everyone and caused Yashoda Maiya to ask," Rajan is that Mein Kya Hai?"

" Devi Yashoda ise thal mein vah hai jo Har Yoddha ki shan Hota Hai, uska Astra. Vaise to Balram Ko Kisi Astra ya Shastra ki avashyakta To Nahin Kyunki Mal yuddh Mein inse Behtar aur koi ho hi Nahin Sakta Kintu Hamare Yahan ka riwaj hai isiliye main Balram ke liye ek gada banvakar Laya hun." Replied the king in a loud and clear voice and pulled away the piece of silk cloth that was hiding A beautifully made mace inside it.

Balram happily accepted the gada and with that, the ceremony was over for Balram now it was Krishna's turn,
The same thing happened for Krishna and not even an hour later the ritual was completed, the lunch had been arranged at Nand Baba's house and after everything when they were about to return to radha's house Yashoda Maiya and Rohini Maiya brought out to handies of mehndi and said," aapke yahan Kaisa hota hai yah To Hamen Nahin pata lekin Hamare Yahan Ek riwaj Hai Ki Dulhan ko lagne wali Mehandi Dulhe Ke Ghar Se Hi Jaati Hai."

" yah to Achcha Ho Gaya ki cal Raat Ko Maine Revati ki Man Ko Mehandi piswani se rok liya Nahin to Abhi Jyada Nahin Ho Jaati, aapka dhanyvad aur Main aapko is baat ka Vishwas dilata hun ki aapke ghar ki Bahu hai yahi Mehandi Laga Ke Grah Pravesh karengi." Everyone Laughs at this statement from the king and retires back to their homes.

The ritual of Tilak had been completed and now it was time for the mehndi ceremony which was held at the bride's house without the intervention of any males, this was a strictly female party where no men were allowed.

The house had been decorated as if it was Diwali already, diyas and flowers covered the whole house. A mesmerizing sent was spread throughout the house,
A beautiful rangoli had been drawn,
Music was playing, ladies and girls dancing and in the middle of all this.
Revati and Prema were busy getting both the hands and legs decorated with Mehndi, Radha who had been running all long making sure that this event would be perfect was forcedly pulled by Prema and forced to apply Mehndi alongside them but a bit later.

Revati was dressed in the most beautiful parrot green, pink and blue lehenga,
Her beautiful hair was left open with only a maang tikka and a choker-style necklace, she looked ethereal.
Her parrot green lehenga represented the energy of renewal, optimism, and a sense of harmony.

Prema, on the other hand, was completely coloured in shades of pink and blue with a bit of gold here and there, she had her hair pulled back in a braid with pink floral jewellery,
the pink in her lehenga represents the energy of love and romance and the pure flow of feminine energy, the light blue in her outfit symbolises Innocence, purity and her daydreams of a happy life.

Radha on the other hand favoured orange and gold today, she looks Bright And Beautiful in her Orange lehenga with a stylish Golden Dupatta her hair half of half down with flowers in it and her signature Golden Crown with a pretty Golden necklace. The orange colour of her outfit represents optimism and enthusiasm.

The three of them were getting their Mehndi done when suddenly one of their best friends,( Radha and Prema)
Chandrawali came and said in front of everybody," Kya aap sab Rajkumari Revati aur Hamari Pyari Prema ka Dil Ka Hal Ek gane ke dwara sunna Chahenge?"

All the ladies old and young cheered," Agar tum sunaogi to avashya sunenge Chandravali.

( let the party begin)

She goes up to one of the other friends and requests her to start playing a slow tune on the bansuri. And then Chandrawali starts to sing,

"  Bole Chudiyan!
Bole Kangana!
Haye main ho gayi,
Teri Sajna,
Tere Bina,
Jio Nahi o Lagda,
Main Te Mar Gaian!

* some kaki's joining with other instruments*

Bole Chudiyan!
Bole Kangana!
Haaye main ho gai
teri Sajana,
  Tere Bina,
Jio nahio lagda,
Main Te Mar Gaian!
Le ja!
Le ja!
Dil le ja!
Le ja!

Haye haye marjaawan!
Marjaawan tere bin,
Ab To Meri raten Kat ti
Tare Gin Gin!
Bus Tujhko Pukara Kare,
Mera Dil yah Ishara kare!

* Prema blushes bright red and to hide her red cheeks she hides her face behind Radha who just moves away making everybody laugh at Prema who just turns even more red from shyness."

* Radha whose Mehndi had just almost dried joined Chandra in teasing both the brides who were still stuck as their mehndi was not even completed by now*

* The singing and dancing continued.*

* throughout the singing and dancing both the brides kept looking at their hands firstly because they were shy from all the teasing and second because they love their mehndi even radha's was very beautiful."
