Razor Bird

A small and savage predatory bird from fourteen million years in the future. It is theorized that it evolved from a species of crane. It hunts in large packs that number between seven to fifteen. They use their hook-like claws to anchor themselves onto their prey while they peck and tear off chunks of flesh from the struggling animal. Standing at four feet tall they are the raptors of the future.

Cause of death: One died of an infected wound that it already had when it came through the anomaly. Two more were found dead after getting their heads crushed by a construction worker armed with a sledgehammer.

Anomaly incident: An anomaly opened at a construction site in Buffalo city and a pack of Razor Birds came through.

The pack consisted of eight adults and four chicks.

When a stray dog entered the area and threatened the chicks, the adults rushed the intruder and proceeded to tear the animal apart.

The next morning a construction worker came across the disemboweled body of the dog.

After the man threw up at the site he immediately went to the foreman and relayed what he found.

The foreman was not concerned about the worker's discovery and proceeded to tell him, "Shut up and do your job!"

Before the worker could protest he was thrown out of the foreman's trailer.

Meanwhile at the ARC facility, an ARC team was dispatched to the location of the anomaly.

Upon arrival the team members began to head off toward the coordinates of the anomaly.

When they arrived the ARC team was met with some resistance from the foreman and a few of the other workers at the construction site saying that the area was closed to everyone.

They were only allowed to enter when a member of the construction crew came to report the anomaly that had been discovered just a few minutes ago.

While the ARC team was being guided to the anomaly another worker was about to take away his next load of dirt when he was distracted by some movement coming from behind a truck.

When the man turned the corner of the truck he was set upon by the Razor Birds which began to slash, stab and peck him.

His screams were heard by a fellow crew member that ran toward the sound of the man who was being eaten alive.

But when the worker arrived the man was already dead and the Razor Birds turned their attention to him before attacking.

Luckily for the worker he had brought the sledgehammer he was working with at the time he heard the shouts for help.

Quickly he slammed the sledgehammer down on the head of the closest Razor Bird and drove its head into the ground killing it instantly.

A second Razor Bird leaped at the worker only to be met with a sledgehammer to its jaw completely shattering its bones in the process.

With two Razor Birds dead the pack fled from the worker.

After that the worker told both the foreman and ARC team about the incident.

The ARC team followed the worker to the spot where he encountered the Razor Birds.

A third body was found near the two other.

That one had died of what seemed to be an infection meaning that it was wounded before the incident.

The ARC team soon made a plan to lure the Razor Birds out of their hiding place, capture them and send them back through the anomaly by using a salami sandwich that was placed inside a large holding crate.

The Razor Birds soon came out of their hideout and ran towards the bait.

As soon as they were all inside the crate the ARC team closed the door behind the Razor Birds and carried it back to the anomaly where the pack of Razor Birds ran through.

The anomaly closed behind the last one stoping any of them from coming back to the present day.
