Halloween Special, Puppeteer Spider

Happy Halloween everyone! This is the time of the year where we celebrate monsters, ghosts and other creatures of the night. Now usually I don't celebrate Halloween, but because I know that most of you are currently cooped up within your house because of Covid 19, I decided to bring Halloween to you with this special chapter.

Arachnophobes beware, spiders will be involved in this chapter.

Still here? Well if you are let's begin.

The Puppeteer Spider, also known as the Trick or Treater Spider, Skin Walker Spider or Skinning Spider, is a massive descendant of the modern day Golden Orb Weaver Spider. It will inhabit South America 181 million years from now.

This future spider can grow to have a 2-meter or 6-foot leg span and can grow to a height of 1 meter or 3 feet. And if that wasn't enough, it is armed with 3-inch long fangs that can pierce through an inch of skin and muscle allowing it to easily inject its prey with its fast acting venom.

A single bite from the Trick or Treater Spider has enough venom to kill a creature as large as a Cape Buffalo in only five minutes.

Unlike its ancestors of today, the Skinning Spider cannot produce silk to build webs. Instead it has evolved a much more unique and terrifying hunting method.

After catching and killing an animal it will proceed to extract all of the nutrients from the body. Once the body is nothing more than a husk it will make an incision along the corpse's stomach. After that it will proceed to climb inside of the animal's body and use it as a disguise that will allow it to approach its prey without being detected.

Yet if it is discovered to be an impostor or it feels that it is in danger, this giant arachnid will throw its costume as a distraction. This will usually be sufficient to confuse its enemies long enough for it to make its escape.

(Picture made by myself.)

Color: Dark green exoskeleton, brownish green markings on its back and black fangs and mandibles.

Diet: Small to large sized creatures.

Casualties: One man and one woman.

Cause of death: Killed when the anomaly closed on it.

Anomaly incident: On Halloween night an anomaly opened within the basement of a house in Utah.

Soon after the anomaly's appearance a massive Puppeteer Spider walked through it.

The arachnid began to move around the basement and in the process knocked over a couple of boxes causing a loud crash.

The man who was living in the house came down the stairs to find out the cause of the loud noise he heard.

But when he entered the basement the Skin Walker Spider leaped onto him and quickly plunged its long fangs into the man's body. In a matter of seconds the man was dead and the Skinngin Spider began to feed.

Meanwhile the anomaly's signature popped up on the monitors within the ARC facility and an ARC team was dispatched to its location.

Upon arriving in the suburban neighborhood, the ARC team headed toward the house that the anomaly had appeared in.

But as they were about to knock on the house's front door, they heard the sound of objects being knocked around.

Meanwhile inside the house the Trick or Treater Spider had put on its newest disguise.

It was currently trying to walk on its hind legs so it could blend in with other humans. But since it was a spider that wasn't made to walk around on its back legs, it was predictively clumsy and was knocking over a lot of things.

Thinking that someone inside was being attacked by some sort of creature, the ARC team broke open the door only to find what seemed to be a drunken man.

But as they approached him the ARC team felt that something was off about this man.

When team leader (******) tried to ask the man if everything was all right and didn't get an answer he placed a hand on his shoulder.

But as soon as he did that the man let out a deafening hiss and in a matter of seconds leaped onto (******). As (******) struggled with the man's skin, the Skin Walker Spider crashed through a window and scurried off into the night.

After realizing what had happened the ARC team rushed out the back door and then split up in hopes of finding the giant arachnid.

Meanwhile the Puppeteer Spider found an open window and climbed inside another house. As it crawled through the house it found a woman in her living room. Just like the man from before, the Skinning Spider drove its fangs into the woman and then skinned her for a new costume.
After a few minutes it put on its disguise and climbed back out the same window it first came through.

As the ARC team continued their search for the Trick or Treater Spider something caught the eye of animal behaviorist (*****).

She saw a woman walking in a strange manner heading toward a jack-o-lantern seemingly entranced by the light it was emitting.

That's when (*****) realized that this woman was in fact the Skin Walker Spider in disguise. Quickly she fired multiple shots at the impostor, this caused the giant spider to drop down on all eight of its legs and run away into the shadows.

After the encounter (*****) told her teammates what had happened. Upon mentioning that the Trick or Treater Spider seemed to be attracted to the jack-o-lantern's glow, tech specialist (****) suggested using the Halloween decorations to lure the Puppeteer Spider back to the anomaly.

The rest of the ARC team agreed that his plan would have a good chance of succeeding and they began running up and down the streets grabbing as many jack-o-lanterns as they could and placing them into the long line that would lead the Skin Walker Spider back to the anomaly.

After half an hour of waiting, the ARC team saw the Puppeteer Spider running down the road as it followed the trail of jack-o-lanterns.

Once it entered the house, the ARC team pushed it into the basement and attempted to close the door behind it.

But before they could lock it down in the basement the Skinning Spider pulled animal behaviorist (*****) down the stairs with it.

As the two tumbled down the stairs, the Puppeteer Spider's cloak fell off revealing it true appearance to (*****).

It lunged at her ready to sink its fangs into her body, but she quickly kicked its stomach, forcing it to fall onto its back.

As it got back up and sprinted towards her, team leader (******) ran down the stairs and shot one of the Trick or Treater Spider's legs causing it to stumble and fall to the ground. He then shot it a few more times forcing it back through the anomaly.

They began to make their way back towards the stairs, but suddenly the Puppeteer Spider leaped out of the anomaly at them.

It fell on top of (******), but before it could kill him, (*****) shot the spider's underbelly forcing it to fall halfway through the anomaly.

Before it could recover from this blow the anomaly closed on it and cutting it clean in half.

The ARC team brought back the Puppeteer Spider's remains to the ARC facility with no other incident.

Happy Halloween!
