Chapter 30

"All of the girls you loved before,
Made you the one I've fallen for."

"GOOD MORNING, HAWKINS HIGH!" The commentator welcomed the audiences. The gymnasium of Hawkins High almost shooked at how rowdy the teenagers are. Excited for the match against the neighboring town.

Naomi, in her cheer uniform, looked around the gymnasium. She sat at the bottom bench for easy access on the performance and, of course, for cheering.

"Everyone, up." Samantha ordered, the girls immediately stood up from their sitting positions and went to Samantha.

"Today is the beginning of the match, which only means one thing." Samantha looked determined, with her hand fisting her pompoms, she raised her fist up in a cheering positions.

"Today will be the first match of Cheer Con. The other teams looked very determined, we should not underestimate them." She said, side-eyeing the other team, who looked pretty laid back. Smirking and whispering and shit.

"You all remembered the stunts and routines, right?" The girls nodded, "Great, just trust everyone. Especially you, Scott."

Naomi's eyes widened. Samantha looked at her.

"You have a lot of stunts, don't panic. Just do what we practiced." Samantha advised.

"Everyone, please settle down! The match will begin soon." The announcer announced.

Samantha's stare did not falter. Waiting for Naomi's response. Naomi nodded at her and she nodded back. Determination written in their faces.

The teams were introduced, players waving as if some kind of a celebrity. The ego. Naomi rolled her eyes at them.

"Please welcome, the cheerleaders of Hawkins High!" The announcer announced. The girls, along with Naomi, cheered. Some flipping in there spaces. Naomi looked around the gymnasium, trying to find Robin. She saw Dustin with his friend Lucas. The two saw each other and waved. Lucas waved after seeing her too.

She was happy to see Dustin cheering her on as a cheerleader. Quite ironic, she knows. His encouraging smile and enthusiastic claps filled her with a sense of pride and warmth. However, amidst her elation, a tinge of disappointment crept in as she realized that her best friend, Robin, was not among the cheering crowd. Naomi's spirits faltered momentarily as she continue to search among the rowdy crowds. But alas, Robin Buckley is nowhere to be seen.

Naomi shakes her head and looked forward for the match. This is the first match of the season. She needs to do good.

"All right! Players, please form a line and face the opposing teams. Let us shake our hands to officially start the game."

The players did as told. The shaking of hands was meant to be a sign of sportmanship and respect. However, the players stood in line as they squeezed each other's hand to show who has the upper hand in the game.

Naomi rolled her eyes at the sickening display of men trying to intimidate other men. Honestly, men's ego are so high in this time.

The referee threw the ball and the game officially began.

"Folks, with a score of 59 - 57, in favor of Willowbrook Vipers! The timer only has 38 seconds for the 4th Quarter. Will the Hawkins Tigers be able to catch up?"

"Okay, ladies. We need to cheer harder." Samantha gathered them and they slouched in a circle.

"We all know that those boys in our team are not that skilled. I don't think we can catch up." Gwen said, one of the cheerleaders, the others nodding at her.

"Come on, guys! There's still Hargrove and Harrington in there. Plus Jason. We can catch up." Chrissy, being positive and lifting up the mood, said.

"Please, just because Jason's courting you." Another said in a teasing tone. Chrissy blushed at that.

"HEY! Focus. We need to cheer harder. God knows that those boys liked it when our boobs are shaking. They get excited that they got so determined to show off." Samantha rolled her eyes.

Naomi's eyes bulged out in horror. She blushes at the explicit things that came out of their leader's mouth.

"Especially you, Scott. Shake those bosoms. That'll keep Hargrove energized. He's our last chance left." Samantha said to her.

Naomi blushed harder as the rest of the team nodded at her and patted her back. "What?"

Samanta looked at her flushed face and sighed. "Just cheer for Hargrove, Naomi. We are not forcing you. Just because your captain said to shake your rack doesn't mean that you have to follow it." She clarrified.

"Okay, I'll try." Naomi said in a daze.

"What? Scott - " She was cut off by the ring of the bell. "Ladies in position." The others immediately scattered. Some of them pushing their bras up. Gwen approached her and patted her back.

"Just cheer for Hargrove, Scott. Who knows, maybe you'll have a good time tonight." She winked at her.

Naomi's brows furrowed. What does she mean by that? Why will she have a good time?

"With 38 seconds left, the game will continue." The referee said. With a whistle, the game officially continued.

The girls started jumping around her. Some of them shaking their shoulders, thus shaking their chests.

What Samantha said was true. The players from Hawkins High looked at our place and their eyes immediately went to the cheerleaders chest area. They will smirk and nudge their team mates, who in turn will look at our place and so on and so forth.

Naomi was confused. Is this normal? She knows that she has been out of the lab for quite some time but she mostly spent her time trying to get revenge. Do girls have to shake their rack for guys to see?

She unconsiously looked at Samantha who was cheering. As if sensing her stare, she looked at her direction. Her eyes immediately soften at the confused expression that etced in her face. She mouthed something but she could not comprehend, thus, she read her mind.

"Just cheer, sweetie. You don't have to do it if you don't want."

Naomi smiled at that and looked at the clock. There are only 10 seconds left. She looked at the court and saw Billy has the ball.

"GO BILLY!" She cheered loudly.

Her soft voice was immediately heard by the blonde man. He looked at her place and he saw that she was looking at him as she cheered. She was not jumping but she was shaking her pompoms that looked incredibly cute on her. Her hair whipping as she shouted for his name. She was cheering for him while smiling at him. She was glowing.

Billy looked determined as he saw that there are three second left at the clock. He shot the ball as the whole team of Hawkins Tiger stopped the Willowbrook Vipers to stop the ball that would most likely enter the hoop.

As the bell rang, the ball also entered the hoop and their scores changed to 60, indicating their win.

"THAT'S IT, LADS! AFTER SO MANY YEARS, HAWKINS TIGERS OF HAWKINS HIGH FINALLY WON!"

The crowds cheered while some was deflated. But he only looked at one. Naomi was standing there, smiling as she jumped to hugged a girl that he recognized as the captain of cheerleaders.

She turned to look at him and she smiled widely. Mouthing something like, "Congratulations, Billy!"

As he stood there, with his team mates crowding over him, Harrington included (although it looked like he was forced to do so, but happy that they won nonetheless), he realized something.

He was avoiding it but at this very moment, he finally realized.

He likes Naomi Scott. A lot.

Authors Note,

There it is lads, an update. After so many months. I lost the inspiration to write because of the continuous and never ending activities from school and I lost the energy to write about Stranger Things. I am not in that phase anymore (I am in my Bridgerton phase at the moment) and writing seems like a workload for me rather than an activity that I would enjoy. SOOOO... In the meantime. I would like to rekindle my inspiration because I missed writing about my Naomi's innocent and naive personality yet powerful young lady. I would like to write about Bridgerton but I need to finish my works.

So, here's an update 'cause we don't know when's the next one.

ENJOY!

xoxo, gossip girl
