"tyler.." josh muttered, doubt in his voice. he went to give tyler a hug, as tyler's heart beat rapidly in his chest.

"i should go." tyler pushed josh away, bolting out of josh's room and down his stairs. "wait!" josh called out following closely behind him.

"tyler!" josh pleaded as he stood in the doorway of his house. tyler stopped in the middle of his front yard, tears staining his red face.

josh trotted over to where tyler was in the middle of the grass covered yard, not bothering to shut the door as he did so. he stood in front of tyler taking his face in his hands, wiping his tears away with his thumbs.

josh leaned down attaching their lips together once more, this time a more desperate, sad kiss. josh pulled away after a few seconds. "i think i'm in love with you tyler." josh frowned.

tyler whimpered, wrapping his hands around josh's neck pulling him in for a tight hug. "you make me so happy." tyler whispered in josh's ear as josh's hands slid down to tyler's waist. tyler pulled away to face josh as he smiled weakly.

"don't cry." josh begged bringing his hand to wipe the tears away once more. "what do i do, josh? i don't wanna lose you." tyler buried his head into josh's clothed chest. "i'm holding you in my arms right now, but i still feel like i'm losing my grip." tyler swallowed, his words muffled as his face was against josh's shirt.

"i'm not going anywhere." josh confirmed placing is hand on tyler's head. "no matter what, no matter what she says." with those words tyler pulled away to look at josh. he had a terrified (don't) expression on his face.

"don't worry about her." josh expressed noticing his face. tyler let a heavy breath out of his nose, one he didn't know he was holding in. he shook his head, glancing at the green blades that he stood upon while letting a grin fall on his lips.

josh took tyler's chin in his fingertips, tilting it to make his focus turn purely on josh. josh placed a delicate kiss on tyler's forehead to then take his hand in his. "let's go inside."

tyler nodded chewing on his bottom lip. josh froze for a moment when he saw his mom placed in the doorway where she was watching his and tyler's little moment. he gulped before continuing to walk through the door, pushing past her while dragging tyler behind him.

as they stumbled up the stairs, they got to josh's room before josh winced at the sound of his mothers voice calling for him downstairs. "fuck." he breathed shutting his eyes, twisting his mouth up slightly. "stay here, i'll be back." he told tyler as he shut his door tip-toeing down the stairs.

"yes?" josh questioned his mother, walking into the kitchen where she leaned against the kitchen counter. "what is going on?!" laura raised her voice.

"what?" josh blinked trying to act innocent. "you and tyler? joshua don't lie to me!" he raised his eyebrows before letting out a defeated breath. "please don't tell debby, i'm begging you!" he pleaded.

"okay, just tell me what's going on please." laura huffed. "mama, i- i think i'm in love with him. i'm sorry." he furrowed his eyebrows, looking everywhere but his mothers eyes.

"hunny, it's okay. come here." she signaled for him to hug her, holding her arms out. he gladly took the embrace. "i'm gonna figure things out between me and debby i promise. just- please."

"i won't. just tell her soon okay?" laura stated, pulling him out of her embrace. he grinned nodding sharply. "okay, now get back to tyler he's probably wondering where you are."

josh chuckled, starting to walk out of the kitchen. "oh, and joshua," he stopped turning around on his heels. "your door stays unlocked." she stated with a stern glare. josh's eyes widened, chuckling. "oh god mom." he huffed rushing up the stairs.

when he opened the door there sat a lonely tyler, exactly the way josh left him. "hi." tyler smiled, showing his dimples. "hi." josh answered, shutting the door when he entered.

tyler yawned as josh sat down next to him on the bed. "i'm tired." tyler commenting resting his head on josh's shoulder. "wanna take a nap?" josh offered, shifting slightly. tyler nodded before yawning again taking his shoes off in the process. the yawn leaving tears in his eyes.

josh got up, pulling the duvet out of its neatness as tyler climbed underneath it. josh went over to the door to switch the light off, but leaving his lamp on. making it so the room was dimly lit. he strolled over to the bed crawling onto it and slipping under the covers with tyler.

he wrapped his arms around the smaller boy nuzzling his face in his neck. tyler giggled before his chest rose and fell lightly as he drifted to sleep. josh kiss tyler's shoulder blade. "i love you."
