Zhou Zishu entered the classroom and noticed that Xie Wang and Wen Kexing were sitting intimately. Xie Wang was caressing Wen Kexing's face with his fingers; his other hand was placed on Wen Kexing's back. Zhou Zishu sat beside them and said, "Hi!"

Wen Kexing turned towards him and said, "Hi! When did you come?"

"I came just now, when you were busy in each other. Were you going to kiss each other in front of the whole class?" Zhou Zishu said teasingly.

"No we were not. I am not that shameless," Wen Kexing replied. His ears and cheeks were red.

"You are not, but it can't be said about him." Zhou Zishu looked at Xie Wang, who leaned towards Zhou Zishu and tried to hug him.

"Stay away from me." Zhou Zishu hid from Xie Wang's touch.

"Why? Do you hate me? Is it because I am dating your best friend?" Xie Wang winked.

"I don't hate you. I just don't want him to feel jealous."

"I am not jealous," Wen Kexing said pouting.

"Okay, okay. If you are done with your human anatomy class can we discuss about some plants?"

They all took out their books and notebooks to discuss plants. Why plants? They were first year undergraduate students of Botany in a college affiliated by a government university. Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu went to the same public school and were best friends for more than four years. Xie Wang came from a private school and Han Ying came from another school. Those four boys became friends in no time and started hanging together.

But within the first couple of month Xie Wang had managed to impress Wen Kexing by his flirting skills and started dating him. Zhou Zishu and Han Ying had no objection about their relationship; they just sometime got irritated by their overly intimate behaviours before their bare eyes. They were both single and loved to tease those lovebirds.

Xie Wang was too caring and possessive about his boyfriend. He pampered him with food, gifts and praised him openly. He was an ideal boyfriend and Zhou Zishu was happy for his best friend.

Those four friends helped each other in studies. Xie Wang visited Wen Kexing's home frequently to study together. Well that was what they said to others, what they used to do in private no one knew. Even Wen Kexing's best friend Zhou Zishu did not wanted to know. He knew that although he loved Wen Kexing beyond anything he had no right to interfere with Wen Kexing's personal life.

Zhou Zishu was in love with Wen Kexing for a long time. But Wen Kexing never showed any interest in boys before he got together with Xie Wang. When they were in school Wen Kexing always talked about different girls and sometimes suggested Zhou Zishu to pick one girl to date. Zhou Zishu never reacted to Wen Kexing's teasing and ignored those girls. Zhou Zishu always thought that Wen Kexing would never like boys and thus he never expressed his feelings to him. But later Wen Kexing started dating Xie Wang. Zhou Zishu realized that he had lost his chance to confess his love to Wen Kexing. He did not want to lose his best friend too; therefore suppressed his feelings and supported Wen Kexing.

When Wen Kexing started dating Xie Wang he was worried about Zhou Zishu's reaction. He thought Zishu would hate him for his homosexuality. He was well aware of his own sexuality from his school days. He wanted to tell that to his best friend and wanted to know his view on that matter. But he had no idea how to do that. What if Zishu hated him and stopped talking to him. He was attracted to Zhou Zishu and wanted to be his boyfriend but at the same time he was afraid that Zishu would get angry after knowing his feelings.

He tried to test Zhou Zishu by different tricks but Zhou Zishu never expressed anything. After two years of constant enduring he thought that it was his unrequited love which was unattainable. He was in a confused state when Xie Wang showed interest in him. Wen Kexing decided to move on and accepted Xie Wang as his first boyfriend.

Everything seemed like dream afterwards as Xie Wang was loving and caring towards him. Zhou Zishu also accepted them open heartedly. Wen Kexing was happy; he felt that he was the luckiest. But he had no idea what was about to happen.

The final examination of first year had approached and all of them studied hard. Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing despite being best friends always fought for the first position in their school life. No one could ever predict who would get the highest marks. But the competition was always friendly and fair. They helped each other during preparation time but fight wholeheartedly during examinations.

It was a little different that time. Wen Kexing had Xie Wang to study with. Zhou Zishu never wished to be a third wheel, therefore he rarely approached Wen Kexing outside their college. He felt hurt but it was his own fault. He lost his chance due to his hesitation, there was no way he could correct his past foolishness. He tried his best to forget about Wen Kexing and study hard. Wen Kexing must be having sweet time with Xie Wang. There was no meaning of thinking about him.

Written examinations were over, only the practical examinations were due. They worked hard to make the presentation, which they had to present that day. Wen Kexing was confident, but during presentation he found out that his presentation was not there in his laptop. How was that possible? It was there on the previous day. He could not present his project. But luckily he had the printout of his project report with him.

He was scolded by the professors but they allowed him to appear in other practical examinations after reading his report. Wen Kexing's points were greatly reduced which would affect his grades. Wen Kexing had no idea how that mishap happened. He was sad but Xie Wang supported him with care and encouraged him for practical examinations.

When the results came Zhou Zishu got the first position with marks much higher than others. Xie Wang got the second position. Wen Kexing on the other hand got average marks. Wen Kexing was disappointed, so was Zhou Zishu. But the person who was more disappointed was Xie Wang. He noticed that Zhou Zishu was sitting alone on the stairs. He went there and sat beside Zhou Zishu.

Then he politely said, "I never expected that you would get the top position. I thought Wen Kexing was more talented than you. But I was wrong."

"Why? Are you regretting that you dated Wen Kexing? Would you have dated me instead if you knew that I had the capability to get the top position?"

"Maybe, I like your attitude towards everyone," Xie Wang said.

"But I hate people like you."

"People like me?"

"You deliberately harmed Wen Kexing and your next target is me. Do you think that I had no idea how his report was lost? Xie Wang, I can assure you that you could never get the top position, for which you are ready to do anything."

Xie Wang's face changed and become ugly. He sneered and asked, "Can you prove that I deleted his project? Do you have any evidence?"

"I don't need any proof. But I will protect him from you in future."

"You are too concerned about him. Are you two secretly dating on my back?"

"Xie Wang!!! Not everyone is as shameless as you."

"So you really like him?"

Tap, tap, tap.

They both turned their head to the sound and saw that Wen Kexing was coming towards them.

"So you were the one who destroyed my project?" Wen Kexing looked directly in Xie Wang's eyes.

"No, I didn't do that. He is saying that because he wants to break us apart. He has eyes on you." Xie Wang tried to explain.

"He has eyes on me?" Wen Kexing looked at Zhou Zishu who lowered his eyes.

"Look, I told you. He has bad intention about you; he wants to make discord between us."

Wen Kexing walked towards Zhou Zishu. "Zishu, is that true?"

Zhou Zishu continued to look at the floor and could not say anything. Wen Kexing observed him for sometime then turned at Xie Wang. "Dear Xie Wang, I think we should end our relationship here. From today we will have nothing to do to each other."

"Baby, you can't do this. I love you. And you love me too. Don't believe him, he is a liar."

"Get lost from here."

Xie Wang tried to convince Wen Kexing but Wen Kexing had no interest in his blabbering. Wen Kexing held Zhou Zishu's had and pulled him down the stairs.

Zhou Zishu could not say anything but led by his best friend. He was afraid that Wen Kexing was going to end their friendship.

On the other hand Wen Kexing was hopeful. He would not lose the chance if Zhou Zishu had a slight liking towards him. He would try his best to change their friendship to a closer relationship. No, he would definitely make it the closest.
