LAN WANGJI, THE MALE LEAD OF A LIVE BL DRAMA

There was a grand musical show in Yizhan city. Many famous musicians were invited to perform in that show. Lan Wangji was a famous violin player from Yizhan city. His family had a music institute where he used to teach violin. There were other teachers for other instruments too.

Lan Sizhui was the adopted son of Lan Wangji. He was a student of that institute too. Jingyi was his best friend and a cousin too. The opening performance was performed by the students of Lan Music School. It was an orchestra. After that artists from different cities started performing.

Lan Wangji played the violin soulfully. His music was so expressive; any one could feel the longings in his music. But personally he was not at all expressive. People called him arrogant and rude as he never made any small talk to anybody. While communicating to others he used as little words as possible. No one other than his elder brother knew that it was not because of his arrogance. The truth was that he was an extremely introvert person. Other than his music performances he had no other connection to the outside world.

Going according to his character, Wangji sat on his seat silently. He did not talk to others. His eyes were on the stage and he only heard the music played there. Although he was a violin player he had training for other instruments too. His uncle, the head of 'Lan Music School' was strict and Wangji had never missed any music classes when he was young.

The students who had performed were sitting behind the famous artists. There were a huge number of audiences in that open air theatre. After few artists a relatively new artist came upon stage to play his flute. Lan Wangji was sitting with a straight face. He did not know that performer and never listened to his flute before. His face was cold until that person started playing his flute.

Lan Wangji was mesmerized by the tune and felt that he knew the inner meaning of the song. He did not know if he ever heard it before or not but he felt connected to the person playing it. After the performance was over Lan Wangji's eyes followed that person. He tried to recall his name, which he had not paid attention to when it was announced earlier. He noticed that the person had a charming and cute smile. As he got down from the stage many other artists congratulated him.

Lan Wangji intently followed everything. That man talked to everyone, who approached him, with a bright smile. For the first time in his life Lan Wangji regretted being an introvert. He was envious to all who were talking freely with that man. That man walked to his seat. Lan Wangji noticed that the seat next to that man was empty. He immediately walked to him and asked, "Can I sit here?"

That man looked up and a broad smile spread over his face. He stood up and said, "Please be seated, Mr. Lan Wangji. It's my pleasure to sit beside you as I admire you a lot."

Lan Wangji sat but he did not know how to continue the conversation. He used up all his courage to ask that one sentence, he could not even remember that man's name. The programme was still going on but he did not pay attention to it anymore.

When he was wondering how to ask his name someone from the next row called, "Wei Wuxian, pay attention to my performance, I will go next."

Wei Wuxian looked back and said, "I will, you do your best." It was a beautiful girl, who got up and shook hand with Wei Wuxian before going towards the stage. Wei Wuxian smiled and held that girl's hand with both of his hands.

Lan Wangji's emotionless eyes flashed with an instant jealousy before turning cold again. Wei Wuxian focussed on the stage but Lan Wangji continued to stare to him. Wei Wuxian did not notice Lan Wangji's eyes on him but someone else noticed.

Lan Sizhui noticed that his father walked from first row to third row and sat there after talking to someone. His father never went to talk to anyone before. But not only did he go after someone he was constantly staring at that man. Did he know him personally?

Lan Jingyi also noticed the movements of Lan Wangji. He was shocked too. How could the great Hanguang-Jun act like that? He nudged his best friend and asked in a low voice, "Sizhui, did you notice?"

"Hmm, I did."

"Did something possess him? He is not behaving like himself. I never saw him like that in my entire life."

"Isn't it Mr. Wei Wuxian?" Sizhui asked.

"Yes. Do they know each other?" Jingyi asked in return.

"I have no idea," replied Sizhui. Both of them forgot about the ongoing musical performance and kept looking at Lan Wangji.

Lan Wangji had no idea that he was being watched. To be spoken precisely, Lan Wangji had lost the track of time, place and people. His senses stopped working and just kept looking at Wei Wuxian. But he returned to his senses shortly after, as Wei Wuxian started clapping enthusiastically. Lan Wangji realised that Wei Wuxian was clapping for the girl who touched Wei Wuxian's hands earlier. Lan Wangji's cold face became colder but Wei Wuxian was oblivious (as usual).

He smiled and asked, "Mr. Lan, wan't she good? What do you think about her?"

"Is she your girlfriend?" Lan Wangji asked coldly.

"No, no. She is a good friend of me."

"Do you like her?"

"Mr. Lan, what are you talking about? I was asking about her performance only."

"Oh!" Lan Wangji said and they stopped talking.

Sizhui and Jingyi kept watching Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian as it was more interesting than the ongoing performance on the stage.

"Hanguang-Jun is buying cold drinks, chips and chocolate. When did he start consuming these kinds of foods?" Jingyi asked as he thought he was dreaming.

"Those were not for him. Look, he gave those things to Mr. Wei," Sizhui said. He was surprised too.

"Is he wooing him? Does he want to make him your step father?" Jingyi's eyes were popping out of the sockets as the thought occurred in his brain. They exchanged glances.

"What step father?" Sizhui wanted to refute.

"What else? Isn't he behaving like a little girl in love?"

Lan Wangji bought more food for Wei Wuxian as he did not know how to chase someone. After the performances end, it was the time for dinner. Sizhui and Jingyi went behind Lan Wangji, only to find that he was loading a plate with spicy meat. They exchanged glances again and followed him. As expected by them, Lan Wangji gave that plate to Wei Wuxian.

"Dad," Sizhui called out.

"Sizhui, Jingyi, come here. Greet Mr. Wei," Lan Wangji said.

They went forward and said, "Good evening Mr. Wei."

"Good evening children," Wei wuxian said with a smile.

The smile melted the hearts of those boys but they still acted stubbornly. They wanted to show him than Lan Wangji already had a family.

"Dad, when will we go home?" Sizhui emphasized in the word dad and Wei Wuxian caught it.

"Are they your sons? He asked.

"Sizhui is my son and Jingyi is my cousin's son." Lan Wangji was cautious; he did not want to ruin his chance for any misunderstanding. Wei Wuxian did not know what to say next.

"Sizhui, I may not go home today. You should go home after dinner. Take the car."

"Where are you going?" Sizhui asked.

"I have something important to do. Call me after you reach home." Sizhui and Jingyi withdrew themselves as they knew that it was the end of conversation. When they were walking over they overheard Wei Wuxian's comment, "What a well behaved boy. Your wife must be a virtuous woman."

"Wei Wuxian, I have no wife. I never had. I adopted Sizhui when he was a toddler," Lan Wangji replied to the comment.

Sizhui and Jingyi kept following Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian during their meal.

"It looks like a plot from a BL drama," Jingyi said.

"I never imagined that my dad would be a main lead of a BL drama. But he looks happy."

"I think he really likes Mr. Wei."

"I want to know what would happen next. But we could not watch the whole drama."

"Unfortunately, as it is not really a drama."

"But I wanted to," Sizhui whined.

"The next part is censored. That is not for us to see." And they both sighed audibly.
