"so are you willing to let me teach you how to skate?" noah asked.

thank god you were on the phone or he would have seen the large troublesome smirk growing on your face.

"of course, noah. i'm looking forward to have you as my teacher." you flirted.

you and noah had been 'going out' for a month now. you weren't official, but you had gone on a countless assortment of cute dates. noah was certainly the sweetest boy you had ever gone out with.

"alrighty hallie. i'll pick you up at like 4:30, is that okay?" noah spoke.

"yes noah, that's perfect." you confirmed.

"okay. bye bye beautiful." he quickly up the phone.

you could almost see the smirk on his face as he hung up the phone. you set down your phone with a shake of your head. you had your own reasons to smirk as well.

noah was 'teaching' you to skate tonight at the flames family skate. in actuality, you had known how to skate since you were 3 years old. you were in competitive figure skating for as long as you remember, but gave it up once you decided to go to university.

you pulled out your figure skates from your old figure skating bag. even with the years and years of usage and abuse to the skates, they still glowed white.

you ran your hand delicately over the blade and felt that they were extremely dull. you dug around your old bag and found a little handheld sharpener and quickly, but carefully sharpened the blades like you had done a thousand times. once you felt content with the sharpness of the blades, you moved to getting ready for the night.

you wore some leggings that you loved and a hoodie. you wanted to be comfortable, yet have some functionality to try some tricks.

you heard the knock at your door that you were waiting for. you glanced at the clock.

4:31

"you're late hanifin." you smiled and pointed at the time on your phone.

"oh i'm sorry ms. tangette. i won't let it happen again." he smiled as he pulled you into a hug.

you grabbed your skates from the table that was right beside your door.

"you have skates?" noah asked, impressed.

"yeah, my parents wanted me to pursue figure skating." you said truthfully.

noah nodded and guided you out to his car.

on your way to the rink, you and noah made talk about each other's day. he told you the story of the shootout challenge at practice that day and how he had surprised himself on the skill he had managed to score with. you smiled at how proud of himself he looked.

you made it to the rink and both of you put on your skates.

"come on hallie. it's time to learn to skate." noah sang out.

you rolled your eyes with a smile as he helped you up. he held your hand as both of you wobbled towards the ice.

once you got on the ice, you played off that you couldn't balance yourself. not to inflate your own ego, but you were good at this acting and it was way too fun to stop.

"you're getting the hang of it. now let's see if you can do it without me." noah let go of your hands and began to try and lap you, "i'll race you."

you smirked and shook your head as you decided to drop the act and pick up the speed. you began to push yourself hard to try and catch up with noah. even though you had been skating forever, it was hard to catch up with a 6'3 nhl player, but when he slowed down slightly to look around for you that's when you decided to pass him.

"catch up hanifin." you said with a smirk as you buzzed past him.

you could see his eyes good wide as he picked up the speed. you turned around to skate backwards.

"HALLIE! YOU CAN SKATE?" he yelled amazed.

"since i was 3, noah." you said back.

you moved to the middle of the arena and began to do the tricks you had been taught to do for so many years.

noah watched with adoration in his eyes.

"i was a figure skater." you said stopping abruptly in front of him.

he nodded in disbelief.

"please be my girlfriend." he stated.

"what?"

"please be girlfriend." he repeated louder.

you laughed, "yes. yes i will be your girlfriend."

"damn, i didn't think i could like you anymore, but you just proved me so wrong."
