jack roslovic // columbus blue jackets

requested by peaqchyy

you missed jack more than ever when he was in winnipeg. he was so far away and you almost never got to see him unless he was playing the blue jackets.

you cherished those little times you had together when he was in columbus.

you two had grown up and been bestfriends since elementary school so it was a bit of a change when jack had to pick up and leave to play hockey.

when you picked up your phone to see a text from jack, you clicked into it immediately.

jack: i'm coming home

you gasped, but didn't want to get your hopes up. your fingers rushed to a sports app where you saw that jack was traded to columbus.

you smiled big and quickly typed a response back to him.

the next few days were long. he had told you the day he would be flying in and ever since then you had been wired.

you were beyond excited to welcome jack back
into your home city, but you were even more excited to be able to spend time with him more often.

you had the honors of picking him up from the airport when he flew into the city.

"holy fuck jack." you exclaimed and hugged him tightly.

"i can't believe it either." he whispered.

you pulled away from the hug and looked at him for a little bit.

"i can't believe you're back in town for a good while now." you chuckled.

jack smiled and nodded, "i would hope i was here for a bit."

you smiled once more and walked him over to your car so you could take him to his place.

"you should come in and we should order some dinner." jack suggested as you pulled into his parking garage.

"i'm not against it." you shrugged and took the keys out of your car.

you had nothing planned for the night anyway other than sitting on the couch and probably eating so these would be much better plans.

you and jack had the classic bickering battle
of what you wanted for dinner which always sounded like,

"what are you hungry for?"

"i don't know. what do you want?"

"there's a reason i asked you y/n. just answer."

this little whining battle went on and on until someone decided that they had come up with something that was fine.

"i missed hanging out with you." jack admitted and tapped your thigh gently.

you smiled and nodded, "i missed hanging out with you too. it's different here without you and i'm glad you're back."

you and jack spent some time catching up on each other's lives as you waited for the food to arrive at the door.

jack went and got it and the both of began to eat.

"we're going to have to go on our hike one of these days." you chuckled.

jack smiled and nodded, "oh yes, of course. it's the best part of coming home."

you and jack always raced up a hiking trail and then walked down together.

so far, you would say that jack was beating you in this game by quite a lot, but you would never openly admit that to anyone.

"i've got to beat you a few more times while i'm living here again."

"ah bullshit, you don't win that often."

yes, he did.

he just shook his head. he knew better than to try and argue with you about this.

"as much as you are a little shit, i really did miss you." you said looking over at him.

jack smiled, "i missed you too y/n... and beating you up the hill."

"JACK"
